Im 43yrs old and been shooting and making slingshots since i was 7, and im still learning everyday. Over the years ive developed a pretty sharp quickdraw intuitive style just out of muscle memory. Then i got a frame and started playing with sights and optics and couldnt hit the ass end of a donky, had to learn all over again. Since i have decades of slingshot experience i thought the problem was the equipment but the problem was operator error.. So now im trying to blend my razor intuitive technique with my awful aiming skills.. learning everyday
Great video Benji. Your shooting has come so far in the last year. It really is an inspiration for many and great to watch. Thanks for the mention my friend. I appreciate all you do for the community man. You are a true ambassador!
Good video Benji, going light to start with is what I tell so many people, master the technique and then go heavier if you feel the need and DEFINITELY cut your own bands
Honestly mate if I had to rank them cutting your own bands might have been top, everything changed when I started to do my own and started to learn about tapers and lengths etc
@@theslingden maybe a follow up video in a few months, once you have mastered the basics it's then down to mental approach, I say it's 90% mental attitude 10% pouch release
Thank you - great tips . I save all my broken bands. To re-use the pouches . I also then cut down old elastics and use them as the tying straps to tie my bands to my frame
Good vid thanks, only been at it a couple of weeks but getting decent accuracy at 6 - 10m, but always having to compensate for hitting a bit high, lifting the elbow high is a definite help!
Hi mate I keep hitting my top left fork shooting 90mm ott mate shot for years I’ve had about a 7month brake came back and I’m keep fork hitting I’ve fork hit my John Jeffries custom 3 times I’m so sad I don’t know what it could be mate I’ve shot catapults for over 7 years in competitions etc and now it going to bits every frame I’ve shot this week I’ve fork hit multiple times around the left hand side the side I aim off what should I do
@@theslingden I’ve recorded myself im not tilting I think it’s a speed bump I hold the full pouch in front of the ball if your know what I mean and when I draw should my 3 other fingers me closed or open ?
That shouldn’t make a difference to your release in my opinion what you do with the other fingers, maybe try and have the ball on top of your bottom knuckle rather than behind it?
Awesome video Benji, very professional and informative!!! Keep up the great work brother!👍👊
Excellent video Benji, great tips, loved it! Should help many people! 👊
Thanks man I do hope so 😁

Yep same I learn all the time, at a much slower than rate than the beginning but that’s like anything that’s new..

Could be tilting the frame? Bands not straight, speed bump, a few things mate get yourself on a cheaper frame until you stop hitting maybe 👍🏻

Couldn’t disagree with anything you said.
