- View of time spent in watching the trains go by in this famous and busy station, in Devon UK. Trains come here from the South and North and depart to the East or West. Two different routes to London, one going off in the totally opposite direction to the other. The 47707 climbing the bank to Exeter Queen St. is going to London (Waterloo) and the HST going off the other way is bound for London ( Paddington).
Exeter, how I remember it in better days!! Lovely footage, brings back super memories!!
Brilliant vintage material Alan, with Valenta HST's. 47's and 33's.......excellent...5* Bob
Love this, your tractor stuff is real good too!
Thank you, Sir. I had forgotten that it had a real live Crompton till I saw it again. There's a part two to look out for . . . .
Alan
I honestly can't say - except, well spotted!
Thanks very much. Train stuff is spaced out a bit,but there's plenty waiting for upload.
Thank you Bob. It certainly brings back the memories of days with son and camera (and tripod) on the platform, just enjoying.
Did you get any material of those days?
Alan
I can remember this being mentioned somewhere else along time ago, you may well be right, I think it was the only one! Well spotted.
Great movie!
I'll do that Bob. Starting - - now!
Alan
Yes very!! =-D
Thanks Rory. It was good, eh?
When did the last First Gen DMU run through here?
I know this is anarok-ey of me, but at 1:03, that's the first time I've ever seen a MkIId coach (i.e. air conditioned MkII) in Network SouthEast livery. I don't think there were many, maybe just this one?
I live in Exeter do my filming at Exeter at David's looks completely different there now in 1994 to now
I'll bet!
@rorymacve For me, too! Went here every summer as a kid!
Were the foot crossings open to passenger use?
What was the first train in this video and what have they replaced it with today?

First train was a 158 unit and they are still running, albeit in different colours.
Aww ok. Would that be the C3? I haven't seen that train since Wednesday.
Looks like NSE were desperate for power by this time judging by the no-heat freight 47!
@balmesh If you plough through my UA-cam collection Alan you will see material from 1989 onwards...Bob
there was only one in network southeast
I don't remember, to be honest.
