    I've been looking at a lot of tracker ideals and yours is one of the best I've seen. I am planning on making a journal for my daughter who just bought her first home. I will incorporate this along with a few other ideas such as birds-bees-butterflies; gifted plants; herbs, flowers, etc. I know she has fruit trees already :D I will also give her the link to you :D Cheers

      Glad it was helpful Ruth and I love all of your ideas. Your daughter is going to be so pleased! Happy new home to her and well wishes to you 😊

    Very good. You could also add there when it blooms, or disease and prevention with a simple notation like a small drawing of a bug, flower, etc.

    I love this method. I would love to see you do an entire year journaling this way, sowing, transplanting, harvesting, etc. The entire process!

      Thank you Helen! My journalling, (and veg growing!) has been way more haphazard than usual during this last season for reasons we all know, but I hope to do more on bullet journalling in the garden next season - thank you so much for your lovely feedback.

    Thank you, I really enjoyed your video! I have a small balcony patio garden and I live in a apartment in Salem Oregon, but I’m originally from London. It’s so nice to hear a lovely homegrown voice and accent lol. I’ve been growing vertically, and my patio is north facing so I’m trying to maximize and organize myself better as I’ve really just been winging it the best I can, which is stressful. I’m going to give this tracker a try this year. Also I’m trying to put together my notes from the last three years of growing what I can into a garden journal. I hope to start growing what I can year round and keep track of progress and problems. I really love your tracker idea! 💕

      Hi there Amanda - great to connect! I had a very memorable camping trip around Oregon and Crater Lake when I lived over there a very long time ago (lived in Mass in early 90s). A beautiful State.
      Yes I think we all start off just experimenting like you've been doing- then once you know you've got the bug, that's when the journals come out :)
      Glad you liked the video and I hope your journalling helps with your growing. I love that you're working with your space - so many of us have challenges (mine are serious salt winds and pebbles for soil!). I have regular tears when everything goes wrong, but then pick myself up and get back into it. It's what we do eh?

      Hi there Susan, it was so good to hear back from you. It was a lovely surprise to learn you’ve lived in the US and traveled to Crater Lake, Oregon. I’m hoping to go there one day it looks so beautiful. I almost didn’t include in my comment that I lived over here, but for some reason I did, and I’m glad I did now! I can’t imagine how challenging that would be to deal with the salt winds and pebbles, but it truly does look like a lovely place to live where you are. I’m just finally sitting down to put my scribbled notes in the garden journal I’m starting. I’m using 3 GreenStalk 5 tier vertical planters on my patio, you might be interested in looking up their website so I’ll include that info. Its a very cool system for small spaces. It’s interesting how creative we have to be to work with our unique growing conditions, but I do love the challenge of it too...most of the time lol. Much love to you and God bless! greenstalkgarden.com/

      Yes it's such a small world isn't it :) Crater lake is just amazing and my jaw literally dropped open when I got that first glimpse at the top. I hope you get to visit too.
      I'd love to see that growing system - so many different ways to get growing now. I love to hear how these things work in 'the real world' too. Keep me updated if you get a chance.

    What a great way to track! I went out and bought a journal then freaked out for a moment when I could not find your video. You’re the only one I have seen with this tracker. What a great concept! Such a good video. I love listening to you. You could read bedtime stories for a living! :-) Thank you again for such a fun and educational idea!

    REALLY GREAT METHOD, GREAT IDEAS. THANK YOU. I STARTED PLANTING TOMATOES IN BUCKETS AND SO FAR HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. WE CAN HAVE 100 DEGREE DAYS WHICH REALLY STRESS TOMATOES SO I HAVE THEM WHERE THEY DONT GET FULL SUN, PARTIALLY SHADE AND BUCKET RESEVOIRS HAVE REALLY HELPED.

    Love this. I had an A6 book with a magnetic clip that I could put into my pocket and take around the garden and greenhouse with me. I did do a similar planner but I like the idea of the using colour keys and yours is more concise.
    Can you tell me what pens you use for the graphic?

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  Рік тому +1

      Ah thank you so much. Yes it's nice to have a functional space for a bit of colouring-in. I am a bit of a pen addict so I can't remember exactly but i think likely it was either Faber Castell Pitt Fineliners or Tombow Mono drawing pen then for the colouring definitely the Tombow ABT Duel brush pens. I love those things :)
      I'm sure you'll build on this into something you love and it's so nice to look back on and see how things change over the years.

    Perfect timing for my first garden! I must have missed it but what were the numbers you wrote in the colored boxes?

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  3 роки тому

      Oh great! Thank you Lisa. The number is the date/day of the month when I planted etc - this matters sometimes eg in February, the light really goes up after mid month in uk . Hope that helps. You won't regret setting up a tracking system - at first it all feels really slow and memorable, then suddenly everything happens at once and it all becomes a bit blurry! Good luck with your new adventure in veg growing !

      @@CookingandCalm Thanks for clarifying. I added a section to my everyday planner with the bullet journal set up. I love playing with fonts, doodles, etc. and I'm new to gardening so this was the perfect time to run across your video! I started setting it up this afternoon and will keep watching your videos. I am in the US in Missouri - Thank you again.

      You're welcome Lisa. I hope things are going ok over there in Missouri. It's a good time to take up growing some food - we can't all be self sufficient but even a little home grown food is so comforting. Take care of you.

      thank you Veronica - I am not good at Spanish either so we are in this together and thank goodness for google translate. Your pepper growing sounds amazing and I'm glad the diary helped. Hope you have a good growing season.

    For your key, what do you put if it is a direct seed to ground Sow?

    • @CookingandCalm
      @CookingandCalm  3 роки тому +1

      Hi there, I just use 'Sow' (yellow) whether or not it is sown indoors or direct. I can tell if it's been planted indoors as it will also have the green square a little later but if you could adapt it and have an extra key eg. SI (sow indoors) SD (sow direct) or similar . I hope that helps :)

      Hi Cindy- I like an A5 notebook with hardback for the garden - currently using Leuchtturm dot grid in Teal but also like A4 sometimes if I want to do more drawing and bigger planning space for the year. I'll put some links in the description
