I am so with you on the not counting of the pens. The way you articulated it as an act of self-care really resonated with me. Thank you so much for sharing this idea, it has really helped me identify my enjoyment of this hobby without internalizing the concept of "acquisitions" . I am also in it for the inks, I wanna try them all!!
Finally getting around to watching these videos... I love that you call it an act of self-care not to quantify your hobbies. I'm glad you're enjoying them and not turning them into work. I dont really count mine either, however I have the number because I keep track in fountain pen companion - which sounds like work, but I really love data entry. it was a relaxing "I want to do pen stuff, but don't want to do pen stuff" activity while I was completing it.
Great video! I have finally gotten to a good enough place with my move and so on that I've got time to watch some videos. 😅 I think we have some of the same sort of philosophies, except maybe about cake. Sometimes I might have eaten the right amount of cake but then it turns out there is also pie and ice cream and maybe ooh is that DOUGHNUTS?! 🤣
Great video. I like to hear the amount of pens, so that way I know I am not completely insane :) I should start doing that. I always love hearing the origin story.
Fantastic video Katie! I really enjoyed hearing your answers and love that you don’t keep a strict count on your pens. I don’t pay attention to the exact number either. Thanks so much for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
Great video! You have so many pretty pens on your tray! 😍 I had a similar motivation to try fountain pens so that I could sample different inks that caught my eye. I like your approach with refraining from buying ink bottles, except for the BPC ones that you can create your own mixes with!
I applaud your non-answers! I’d love to hear more about the Silver Burl vs Benu Earl Grey experiences. It was great getting to learn a bit more of your story.

Every single ink is GOALS

I get that! I like a good spreadsheet!
Loved the "My mind is the one I have to live with." I'm going to borrow that.😆
Seriously, I enjoyed learning about you and your journey.
Hi Katie, lovely hearing your answers to your questions :) Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful week!

I'm eyeing that fabric thing your pens are resting on. What eees it?
It's Tesellation from Alison Glass, I've had it a long time, I fear it might be discontinued 😬
Muddy Bucket! Great video tracking your journey. ❤
I thought she said Money Buckets lol even scribbled it down to look at later 😂
Ooooo I saw your name for today and I've been so excited!!
Hi. New viewer here - found you through the 8 pen question. Where’d you get that pen tray? It’s gorgeous.
Thank you! I sewed it myself

I am interested in your Benu Earl Grey if you are willing to part with it?
Not at the present moment, sorry!
Good answers! 🍰
I like that, happy for a few more bites but not amother whole slice
I enjoyed this so much! Can we be ink mixing buddies? I'm an ink mixologist also!
