For the start of my full scouting reports on this channel, I wanted to look at Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA. In my strong opinion, he is one of the most pro ready quarterback prospects I’ve scouted in the last five years. His ability to place the ball down the field gave his team the opportunity to make plays.

Samuel Gold do a scouting report on Lamar Jackson from Louisville.
I will in a few weeks!
Samuel Gold can you do video on Baker Mayfield, and are you a Seahawks fan? Thanks.
Redskins fan!
Samuel Gold Have you seen footage of QB KYLE LAULETTA from Richmond????
Soooooo excited for scouting reports!!
Me too!!!
Samuel Gold good analysis , my only gripe is how everyone in America still thinks Rosen is un-coachable . Jim Mora had no problem with him at UCLA. At UCLA his teammates loved him and there were no concerns about him from the coaching staff.... People have to remember he was 17 when Dilfer made those comments about him he's almost 22 now ( a lot of us are full of ourselves at 17 especially if one factors in the undue attention high school football players get)....People have to let that nonsense go..the guy is intelligent and he's matured end with 3 years of university , end of story.
Worminator I never thought about Elway. I always thought he was Like Peyton Manning because of the brain and mobility issues but now that you say it I see the older Elway. The younger Elway was always scrambling and making things happen and that's the Elway I was thinking off not the older more meticulous Elway... Thanks Worminator
ShowtimeLA88 I do not understand why its suddenly illegal to be an intelligent , opinionated kid from a well off family because that seems to be the knocks against him. Nothing football related . Its crazy its like if the guy was out boozing and chasing women his stock would have gone up. This is the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning in my opinion.
does he know
These scouting reports are gonna make the offseason bearable
Kudos to you Sam, you actually know what you are talking about, unlike many others that just regurgitate what they hear, for example you pointed out something that I didn’t see anyone really talking about, one was Alex Smith’s long throwing motion, and Rosen’s wide stance/base. I’m a Skins fan and never really paid attention to Alex Smith but started watching highlights to see what we were getting and that was the first thing I noticed
Great video and analysis as always. Are you doing Sam darnold next by chance. Really interested in seeing what you see on him on film.
Sam Darnold will be soon!
Thanks brother. Big fan of yours. Keep up with your analysis
Good analysis as always bro, keep it going
Josh Rosen is definitely an interesting prospect, he reminds me of a young Alex Smith who has potential to be better. His attitude however worries me, we havent seen any of these young over confident quarterbacks do well in pros. I like Josh Allen, out of all the prospects, great but not amazing numbers but he's careful with the football and has good intangibles
Great video, as always. One point of clarification. The play show at 2:15 is the Snag concept - corner, flat, mini-curl (not Spacing, as you mentioned), I believe.
can you update your videos? after one year in the NFL
great video!
8:15 check out the holding on the left tackle of #42. Wow.
6:50 his receiver was wide open but he under threw it.
I'm scared as a cowboys fan we have wentz to deal with and now if the Giants or skins draft him it's gonna be hell for years to come
Oyasumi Ukiyo yeah Prescott is good lol
Not if we get Derwin James. And a wr and te.
Welcome to Miami
Hey, what do you think of Lamar Jackson? I project him as a second round pick. But I've seen him rated as low as the fifth round. I think he might be a little unrated. Although his passing mechanics do need Improvement.
Also, I feel like if you made 3-4 videos a week, your channel would grow so much more! Which you totally deserve that!
You learn more about football on here than you do watching football shows on tv
Dang this sounds like an official scout nice job
his mid range game is fucking fantastic 4:18 is the same pass rodgers make against the cowgirls..can u imagine what Bill Walsh would have done with rosen....
Can someone explain why the Browns would get another QB? Is Kizer not a Franchise QB? It's only his 1st year, why not give him time?
Kizer isn't as talented as any of the first round QBs this year and with a new GM they can draft a QB they actually want to keep. Also, look at the Panthers when they drafted Claussen in the second round and then Cam Newton first overall the next year.
Well Kizer forced things too much 22INTs, compared to Troy Aikman 18 INTs in each of his first two years
Dunno if you can say that !! Kizer was #1 at the start of the last College season....and Notre Dame has two top 10 calibre OLmen this year so Kizer should have stayed in school as his coach said
If the Browns just go for another QB year after year, this cycle of failure will never end. They never let anyone develope. I didn't even think Kizer was that terrible and it was just his first year. Kid is gonna make mistakes.
Samuel Gold Oh alright thanks for answering my question that I was wondering about for a while now
Awesome vids man! Can you do one on Sam Darnold. Guy looks like the next Andrew Luck to me
Looks like the usual USC QB AKA Mark Sanchez II
Darnold will be in two weeks roughly!
How the actuall HELL does he look like Luck to you? Your eyes are lying man they're lying.
Been my #1 qb for monthsq
Bird gang !! NFC west going to be one of the best again
How do you think Rosen will fit in with the Cardinals?
Great job as always. Do you think he is durable enough to survive in the AFC north for the browns?
I do. He's a bit lanky but I think he'll be fine.
As a member of the tribe; it hurts me to say that I think he'll be an average QB at best. His game declines when he gets hit, and he does not avoid conflict in the pocket well. All of his tangibles are average too.
Why did Bryce Love return to college for his senior season? Wasn’t he almost a guaranteed first round pick?
Hagd gihsf this class was stack at RB and he probably would have slipped to the 2nd or third round
He caught barely any passes and since he is such a small RB that is really bad. He offers nothing in the passing game since he hasn’t shown the ability to catch the ball and he is way to small to pass protect. It’s not like it was the Stanford’s system because we saw Christian McCaffery catch a lot of passes.
Fantastic breakdown Mr. Gold!
Love the analysis man! I have to ask, how did you get the All-22 college film?
This aged well
Hey Sam! I love the channel. Where do you get this all-22 footage from? Thanks in advance.
I would love one on Calvin Ridley or Anthony Miller.
Rosen's problems can be fixed in one off season if under the right coach. Teams that don't rely on RPOs and misdirections shouldn't consider anyone but Rosen. Mayfield produced more because he played in a scheme driven/QB friendly offense with much better talent all around. Darnold is more athletic but need a friendly system around him day one. Both Darnold & Mayfield's mechanics are bad and it will take time to adjust, plus they can't make necessary reads in certain systems. Darnold & Mayfield's fate depends on where they go. Jets could be the best option for Mayfield with Jeremy Bates as OC. Darnold can be elevated by NFL level route runners.
You can do one for vita vea?
Or the RBs from Georgia?
Vita Vea later this draft season. I've already done something on the RB duo from Georgia: ua-cam.com/video/Fgbb4JIBXVo/v-deo.html
Samuel Gold thank you!
Keep the videos, your film breakdowns are the best in the net
"Character concerns" aka he he has opinions. "Coach decides what you can say or can't say" is such bullshit. Can you imagine a coach in the NBA acting like that? We need more people in this league that speak their mind.
“Rhythm based passers that does well in a system that allows them to throw the ball with timing “- literally every good qb in the nfl . Great review tho that just made no sense to call him a system qb ! Every qb needs those two things
What is your grading scale for Arm Strength? Because I don't think he has 'Great' arm strength. When I think 'Great' I think Mahomes or Josh Allen. Just wondering. Great vid, look forward to the rest.
I think arm strength is one of those things where as long as you have the min velocity (53-55 mph), good placement, and anticipation then you are fine. He obviously doesn't have Mahomes/Allen arm strength but I think it's probably going to test around average for an NFL quarterback.
I think he's somewhere between Those two and Alex Smith. Good Arm, not Great, and doesn't quite have to rely on anticipation to complete a pass.
Fair assessment!
Kyle Harrison Eli manning arm strength good but not great. Like madden I would give him a 90 throw power. 93 and above is guys like Big Ben and Rodgers
I’m wondering-does anyone think it’s possible if he adds a bit more muscle and works on his throwing mechanics a bit that he might be able to add a little bit more velocity on his throws?
I have him ranked #2 overall behind Barkley.. he’s easily the #1QB, my only concern and maybe I need to watch more film but he appears to stare down his receivers at times. He definitely has good football IQ, but I feel NFL safeties will pick up on this.
Should have mentioned that hair trigger release!
I would love to see Rosen end up with Kyle Shanahan but they do not need him now. I would love to see my favorite team, the Denver Broncos draft him, but denver's offensive coach's are not that great and would probably frustrate him. If Rosen ended up with a Bill Walsh/Shanahan caliber offensive coordinator, he would do really well.
You don't think arm strength is a worry? I saw lots of balls with low zip and underthrown deep stuff.
Wow! At last! Some Hawk draft picks! NOT...Please let us know what you believe the Hawks should be picking.
Don't worry I'll get to some Hawks guys too.
Looks like Rosen going to the Skins. HTTR
If Rosen was drafted by the Browns they would have gone 0-16 again because Josh Rosen = Deshone Kizer, they both have strong arms, can run but are equally as irresponsible with ball placement, get easily manipulated by pressure, and gamble way too much.
Good job good job. Now feast your eyes on the tape of Saquon Barkley and get back to me.
Can you do a scouting report on Lamar Jackson
R u just doing gbs or r u gonna do other positions too?
All positions! QBs are just first.
As much as I love bradley Chubb I wish we drafted Josh rosen
If I were the jets I’d take Rosen. If not Baker
Cam for mvp
do one of Baker Mayfield
where do you get college tape from?
Simmie Cobbs Jr. Out of IU should be your next choice
Can you do Baker Mayfield
ask him teammates on twitter about his character concerns
LOL Sounds like Deshonne Kizer !!
bottom line: he can make ALL the throws and make them look eay the majority of the time. like you pointed out, all those inaccurate examples that you showed , he has the ability to hit perfectly and it's been the majority of the time . I get it. if you said he was the perfect prospect nobody would take you serious, but HE is the best since peyton manning. better prospect better than luck was.
I'm sorry but Rosen is so damn scared of the rush he looks like Brad Kaya
Josh Chosen Rosen, would be cool to learn under Eli, much safer pick than Josh Allen
Where do you get film?
vita vea needs a treatment. also do josh jackson
I hope you do 100 of these. Requesting Anthony Miller if you deem worthy
I deem Anthony Miller worthy! :) He's on my list.
Samuel Gold what about mayfield
Definitely on my list :) He's next actually!
Can you do a Lamar Jackson video
WELCOME 2 MIAMI
From what ive seen in this video, rosen is oblivious to the coverage. He got his receivers blown up and threw silly interceptions. In the league, WRs will not tolerate being put in harms way like that. He seems more concerned about not being hit himself and lacks concern for his teammates safety. Kinda selfish if u ask me.
Bradley Chubb
Ep. 2? Where's episode 1?
Ep.1 was Georgia Duo (Chubb/Michel): ua-cam.com/video/Fgbb4JIBXVo/v-deo.html
whoa! not only it doesn't show in my subscription box, I can't even find it on your channel. As if it's unlisted. Thanks for the link
Rather have an overconfident player that believes he can win and is the best. U need that.
Josh Rosen doesn’t want to go to the Browns. I’m sure everyone can’t wait til you break down Baker Mayfield
Mayfield is next :)
Do Saquon Barkley and other Penn State players
Barkley is coming up!
Goddamn those interceptions are embarrassing LOL.
This didn't age well....
Jets trade up for him plz
Browns should develop kizer and not draft another qb
dj brezzy Too late. He’s gone.
Eli has a better arm.
The Redskins have the 13th pick. Of course they will be able to Draft him
I said this in the video "realistically they won't be able to draft him but he'd be a really good fit in their offense". Also, note this video was created before the Redskins traded for Alex Smith.
Samuel Gold I expect Rosen to be available at 13. I think he will likely be QB 4 or 5. And the Smith trade doesn't rule out drafting a QB high, especially as he is like 34 already
I'd be shocked if he didn't go Top 10. But who knows at this point? Jimmy Claussen was supposed to be a first rounder but fell to the second.
Why would the skins draft him?
Video was created before Skins traded for Smith. Still think he's a great fit but I obviously don't see them grabbing him now.
What are the odds the chiefs trade into the first round? ahaha
More like Peyton
Why the hell don't the guys that work on nfl network do scouting reports like this and talk about the game like this? I don't give a shit about what Lamar Jacksons favorite ice cream flavor is talk football enough of the stupid meaningless crap.
This guy seems like a wilting flower. Average frame, poor attitude, average NFL arm strength, overrated accuracy, can get too checkdown happy, injury history (including multiple concussions). I would not be surprised to see this guy slip on draft day and be an average NFL QB at best.
ok some of your opinions on him can be debated but not his accuracy..avg arm strength= he can make ALL the throws and make them look easy...checkdown happy ? yeah, but he had to pass every down and the defense knew it
watch his first drive in the colorado game for an example of what I'm talking about regarding his accuracy. He hits a few short passes on the mark and then airmails or one hops three in a row to kill the drive. He's not inaccurate by any means, but he's on par with Darnold and Mayfield in accuracy, not miles ahead of them. He can make most of the NFL throws but his arm is nothing special, so it's not something that "makes up" for all his other flaws. Guys like Rodgers, Ben, Stafford, Wilson, are able to make throws he can't.
You're right though, he did have to throw a lot and his O-Line sucked - so maybe I'm being a bit too hard on him for hitting the checkdown so often.
he's the no.1 pick
I really think teams overlook the intangibles. And youre right, he has a bad attitude. Being negative will begin to affect his play.
Overrated AF
Looks like your take on Josh Rosen was so full of fail LOL.
WTF is EYE MANIPULATION? He can tryout for the 3 stooges?
t a he can use his eyes to misdirect linebackers and defensive backs
You mean looking off a DB or Safety is now called "eye manipulation"? Is this more NFL network speak? Anyway, what QB can't do that for goodness sake? Millennial. nonsense
t a not all qbs are good with misdirecting players with there eyes
2yrs ago we all knew that Wentz & Goff were special but this guy is AVG. at best. He looks like a poss. Alex Smith clone & to me, that's a big problem!! His decision making in stressful situations is unknown. Very unathletic with avg QB savvy
Charles C because you know more then I pro scout who does this for a living
I dunno. He looks like a 14 year old kid who might get racked up and killed early in his NFL career. Has he ever seen a weight room?
Another gay looking Manning Type qb
LAMAR JACKSON WILL BE BETTER
Davis r SHIT LAMAR JACKSON WAS WAY FUCKING BETTER THE HIM! IN COLLEGE EVERY WAY SHAPE AND FORM
Davis r YEAH OK 👌
Jackson, Rosen, and Mayfield will all be better than Darnold.
Gab N Sam no he won’t that running around shit will not go down
Mean Green YES HE WILL
Rosen is a below average QB, a team would be idiotic to take him in the first round.
Bad attitude !! At best he s BIGFOOT Samantha Bradford, and at worst Ryan Leaf
Chas X he's not as good as Sam Bradford.
Chris Gibson He has just as good of ball placement and mechanics as Bradford. Kid has zip and anticipation, all good traits for a successful QB. His biggest issue is health. If you look at him play He has guys dropping on the spot passes a ton.
*Foolish* Demon it's a reason the eagles have only won one super bowl ever, your logic sucks, and it's also a reason Sam Bradford won the Heisman and Rosen wasn't even considered. A few years from now and we won't even remember who this guy is or was, he's a garbage QB. Glad he's not going to my team.
*Foolish* Demon and for the record I watched him 3 or 4 times this year and thought he was trash then.
