If you would like to try a future bet or like to educate your listeners as to what is likely in AFL 2024. Dees & Dogs to make the 8 No. Lions to make the 8 Yes. Why? 3rd Year Blues for Dees & Dogs in Season 2024. In the 3rd year after 2 sides play off in a GF (AFL), both sides have a habit of missing the 8. Season 2021. WCE 9th, Pies 17th (2018-2021). Season 2022 Tigers 7th, GWS 16th (2019-2022). Season 2023. Tigers 13th, Cats 12th (2020-2023). Season 2024. Dees 10th, Dogs 11th (2021-2024). Premier Sides who have flogged the Suns in their premiership year, don't have any record of flogging them again (2018-2023). Tend to be Line Bet wins to the Suns...
Pies will probably struggle to beat the GC Suns in 2 weeks time...
Start of this Season, Runners-Up in GF 2018-2023, barring a stack of injuries to multiple players, 4 sides from 4 have made the 8 on what I have. My theory for AFL Premiers is to beat the reigning champs, back it up, flog GC Suns, back it up, Vic sides can struggle to beat the Hawks, interstate sides not so much...
This is a set rule I have for each side who wins the Premiership and whom plays off. This is using the theory of beating the reigning champs, backing it up, etc, as opposed to great sides who do it year after year without fail (NRL is a good example...this theory doesn't work in the NRL).
This where you can expect sides to finish each year after they have won/lost the flag with the set rules laid out above...
Following Season
Premiership Side 2nd-12th.
Runners-Up 3rd-8th.
Year 2
Premiership Side 3rd-12th.
Runners-Up 1st-12th.
Year 3.
Premiership Side 7th-17th.
Runners-Up 7th-17th.
Year 4.
Premiership Side 7th-17th.
Runners-Up 4th-17th.
Year 5.
Premiership Side 8th-18th.
Runners-Up 1st-12th.
This works year after year barring major retirements which will derail any side, etc...
