8° looks good, it's-4 in Glasgow tonight, and a big thanks to yourself and your good lady for all the effort and time making the videos. Have a very Happy Christmas, and new year. And as they say in Scotland. " lang may your lum reek."
Yes Barry .. We have gas central heating with every room + bathrooms having heated towel rails & radiators.. Plus today is the first day we’ve had to put it on in the day .. But I will say that’s a good bit of scran ….
My friend lives out in the Hebrides and he told me he was struggling to keep 12C in his house with the heating on. Now that's baltic, I guess we can count our blessings. They are looking to move to Spain, he told me he printed a picture with sun and blue skies so he can at least see it that way, and tell his kids that it exists.
We spent the month of February in Calpe, a couple of years ago. Since the weather was said to be the coldest, and we thought at the time, let's see the winter first. Think we'll end up further South. 🤣
Stopped in pinoso in December when Covid hit, my friends house was so cold , probably due to no Installation and fully tiled, couldn’t wait to get home
We live together n Almeria, just got a log burner put in the villa 6 days ago absolutely perfect, heats all over the place. Bedrooms toilets the lot best thing ever! Should have got one a long time ago. I left my winters clothes in Ireland didnt think it ever got cold in Spain but it does, although weve got 15 degrees here so bit warmer than yours
Hi Barry & Karen hope your doing well can’t wait to be there on Saturday. Leaving the very cold 🥶 weather outside Glasgow last few days it’s been-4 -3 here. Keep up the great work. Hopefully 🙏 meet at some point in the couple of weeks lm coming out for.🫶💋👍🤜
We have 75+ year olds in homes without heating or aircon in Granada....how hardy is that 😮...for sure the locals in the colder regions of Spain are a tough bunch...our own kitchen runs at 10-12° inside throughout the winter ...no dramas there 😂
Welcome to MY world. Cold and wet and 8 degrees! 🌂🌧🌬 Looks like it's PISHIN' IT DOON ! Square sausage would be better in the Mockmuffin 😋 Hasta luego 🏖
hahahaha i told you I don't know if you were already in Spain in 2018, but that year there was a significant snowfall here in our area, there are videos of the beach completely covered by a thick blanket of snow. The problem in the Vega Baja is the humidity, both for the heat and the cold. And when the thermometer is only a few degrees above zero, the cold is more intense due to the humidity. When the cold is below zero, the hydrogen particles condense and the humidity level decreases drastically, preventing it from penetrating the body. People fight the morning cold in two ways: churros with hot chocolate, or a burnt carajillo with rum, cognac or whiskey, with cinnamon and a small peel of orange or lemon. But sometimes it is advisable to be near the toilet after eating it.
Last few days been cold in Tenerife Baz it’s been about 20c I know people will laugh that not cold but when it’s normally 29 - 30 + c so it’s cold for me lol
That shot at start looked like Scotland my Bonny pal @scottishcoupleinspain You said canary island 🏝️- why didn’t you go there ? Please do a video or explain in comments thanks amigo Ps pal it’s been 0 and -2 in Edinburgh so consider yourself lucky in relative terms ?
@Robot-i1v we have spoken about it a lot over the years. My dad was 14 years staying in Tenerife, and my brothers also had stints. We wanted the Freedom to travel around Europe. But that did happen. BUT it's not too late for us to make the JUMP LOL
The Spanish don't build with insulation at the front of their minds. They tend to build with poor quality materials, bricks being a good example. However, many of the hotels are warm, so there should be no problem. Remember too, that cold wet days are infrequent in parts of Spain, the Costa del Sol for example, and further East into Almeria and Murcia. The Costa Blanca not so good. Often has East wind into the bargain. What is the temperature in Almunecar or Motril today?
Costa del sol has different issues, the water is usually colder for swimming, especially around Gibraltar. During winter the difference is minimal, only 1-2 degrees at most, it's not like the Canaries in either location.
Your a nice couple , but I think you miss scotland at Xmas and new year, I might be wrong, don't go back to Scotland unless to see your beloved celtic or family & friends. Spain or Scotland to live in autumn spring and summer --- Spain by a country mile. Stop thinking about life too much, switch off. ❤ Be happy and stay safe.
