I think the bottom line for anyone in any stage of adult life, is that we may not be able to always control income, but we certainly have a great deal of control over spending. I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.
Rising prices have affected my intention of retiring at 62, working part-time, and building my savings. I'm worried about whether individuals who weathered the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.
Annette Christine Conte is the licensed advisor I use and i'm just putting this out here because you asked. You can Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
Thanks for sharing. I curiously searched for her full name and her website popped up immediately. I looked through her credentials and did my due diligence before contacting her.
I cleaned houses for 20 years when my kids were growing up. I currently work from home in an office-type job and am seriously thinking about going back into cleaning. I really liked that job, and it was the only job I ever had where I didn't experience the Sunday night blues. I've also picked up dog walking for clients in my 16-building apartment complex, which I love! It doesn't pay great, but I mostly do it to get off my butt and hang out with dogs. :)
Holly, I love Aldi and thrift stores. The most clever and unique items in thrift stores. Already having downsized, I realized that I needed a smaller crockpot. I love crockpot cooking but 6-8 quarts was way too much to eat or to store. I bought a mini crockpot and it is perfect! I don’t eat out much at all. My daughters can’t believe I’m back to cooking again. I enjoy it because I get to make what I want to eat. No credit card debt and I drive an older car with low mileage that I’ve maintained well. It’s a nice car. All thanks to God, I am able to live alone independently without a side hustle. Great advice for seniors or anyone who wants a more simplistic life. Happy 65th birthday!!May you have many more happy years! Thank you for sharing this.
Costco has a foot long hotdogs with a 20 ounce soda for $1.50 with free refills on the soda. I love to sit there and watch the people walking out with carts filled to the brim with things I didn't even know Costco had. I think you are beautiful.
Many people are facing a challenging retirement, and it’s becoming even harder for workers to save due to low-paying jobs, inflation, and rising rents. Now, middle-class Americans are also struggling to afford homes, leaving them without a secure place to retire.
Rising costs have affected my plans to retire at 62, work part-time, and continue saving. I’m starting to wonder if those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had it easier than what I’m experiencing now. The combination of stock market volatility and reduced income is causing anxiety about whether I’ll have enough funds for a comfortable retirement.
Financial experts recommend saving at least 20% of your income in a 401(k). Joseph Nick Cahill taught me how to estimate my savings needs based on age and income. I’ve worked with him for years, and his decades of market experience have added incredible value to my portfolio. Thanks to his guidance, my investments have significantly grown.
I first experienced Aldi while living in Germany in the early 90's. One thing I like about them, besides their deals and brands, is how fast they check you out. They can offer cheaper prices because their business model is like no other. Bring the cart back and get your quarter back. No need to hire someone to collect carts from the parking lot. Another is carrying fewer brands and stocking shelves with the product in the box. Germans are efficient. Couldn't believe it when Aldi came to America. Great tips. Happy birthday too.
I love that you brought up Aldi, I buy at least 90% of groceries and home items there. I rarely see any inflation, like everyone complains about. Their business model allows them to sell you great stuff for great prices, I can’t imagine shopping anywhere else
😮 do not downsize to an apartment, condo or townhouse 😮!! Why? Inconsiderate, loud neighbors, other people are the worst. Instead buy a small standalone home. Your other advice is helpful. ❤
Investigate! You may know someone who has lived there and dealt with management. My building is VERY quiet. I’m on the end and I only share one wall with another single female who is my age. The walls are NOT thin. I have brand new carpet which i prefer. I hear nothing at all. Placement is important. I’m on the second floor and nobody is above me because there are only two floors. Maintenance is prompt and they are very courteous and efficient. I love being able to just put in an order for something I need. I’m SO impressed with these apartments and so are others. I’m quite pleased with the decision I made. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I‘m German and we have been buying from Aldi and Lidl (another German discounter) for years. I don’t only buy groceries there but all kind of stuff and the quality is really good. I can absolutely recommend it.
Happy Birthday Holly! Mine was the 12th. Thanks for the practical tips. My husband took his life in 2021 and I've spent three years trying to dig myself out of a depression. I spent a lot of money buying things I didn't need. I was trying to fill the void that he left behind. So now is the time to get with the program and change my ways. Your videos are s big help. Thank you for what you do.
I'm so sorry! If I could suggest one of my videos it would be the one "How I Changed My Life Using The Law of Attraction", It's a good place to start when wanting to get more clarity in your life. Thank you so much for sharing
@ I couldn’t have said it better. Homes can often feel staged. Best compliment is when new guests say that they feel comfy and warm and can see your personality come through the decor. Find what you love, then it will find it’s place, over time.
I’ve been thrifting for years, and recently started upcycling clothes to make cool things I love to wear. I haven’t bought new clothes in a long time. I will say it used to be easier to find bargains in the thrift stores, but now a lot of what they have is fast fashion, and they are charging more than what those items cost brand new! So I hunt for bargains and often find things on the $2 rack to turn into something fun that I love.
These suggestions are all wonderful. Several I needed to be reminded of. I do want to add that my husband and I eat out, but always share a meal to cut down costs. If I eat out with friends, I still take home leftovers and view the cost as two meals. It still would save money to eat at home, but I will pay a little more to have someone prepare and clean up. lol
I also take home leftovers. Sometimes the leftovers will make two additional meals. I don't eat out a lot since I am widowed, but I do make sure that I'm getting good value when I eat out. Diane
Happy 65th birthday, Holly! I agree that Aldi is great -- if you read labels, Aldi brands typically have many fewer ingredients -- MUCH healthier food overall. That may be because the company is European-based and Europe has much stricter rules about food additives than the US does. And YES -- their chocolate is incredible! One of the few stores that has chocolate with whole hazelnuts! A great place to get high-quality furnishings for almost no money is auctions -- many of which are now online so that you don't need to go sit there through the entire auction. I have beautiful high-end furnishings that I spent almost nothing on. Like you, I swear by water filtration. I have a Berkey and love it. I eat out once a month with a group of women; we call ourselves the Lunch Bunch, and we go to restaurants that have lunch specials -- $7-$8. Otherwise I never eat out. Downsizing: I have a cool little cottage, 600-sq ft. I got it super cheap three years ago and own it outright. I could not get by on my retirement if I had a rent or mortgage payment. I do have 1/2 acre because I grow a lot of my own food -- 90% of my veg and 60% of my fruit, adding more perennials every year. I save BIG on groceries. All of your suggestions are right on and have made a huge difference in the quality of my retirement.
You are so right about Aldi. Great store. My bill is so much cheaper when I shop there. Thrifting is a fun hobby too😊 Zero water pitcher! Love it! Now if I could just ever make it to retirement…
Great video Holly. I have already done eight of your suggestions, so you are right on the money. Have a fantastic birthday on Sunday and hope the heavens send many blessings your way.
Here's a tip for saving time, if you got to go shopping add Aldi or anywhere else avoid the first week of the month. That's when a lot of people just got their social security, retirement, or disability checks. The last week of the month the stores are never crowded. I really agree with Holly on the limiting going out to eat, cook at home, cook healthy meals, save some money.
I came across your first video and liked your content and delivery immediately. You make good sense in a world that seems short on common sense these days. You're relatable and pleasant and I fully agree with delving deeper into the Law of Attraction for so many things in this life. I try to be as positive as possible and try to be in the 'Now' rather than always reliving the past or worrying about the future. It's not always easy but I try to be aware when sliding back into old modes of thinking. I wish you a very happy birthday 🎉 and many more, plus great success with your channel as I'm certain your viewership will grow in leaps and bounds.
I'm a 66 year old man and retired too. The best tip I can give to old men like myself is to stop dating women. Don't invite them on expensive dinners or holidays unless they pay their own share. You will be surprised how much more you can do with your savings. I go sea kayaking in Greenland, New Zealand, Sweden and Denmark with my small tent and camping in Harz on my motorcycle. Next year I'l ride to Switzerland. I had a great life with my wife and I feel no need to spend our savings on other women.
We are a senior couple in our mid-70s. We enjoy cooking our favorite dishes at home which are a lot more delicious than what restaurants offers us. We eat freshly cooked meals and save money at the same time. We are learning to cook dishes from a variety of cultures including Indian, Thai, French, Italian and Afghan. Cooking channels on UA-cam are a great help. My wife is a master cook. She has perfected the art of cooking. But she enjoys eating the dishes I make for us. I find cooking to be a creative and fulfilling activity. Luckily, our town is culturally diverse which has all kinds of ethnic grocery stores selling the necessary ingredients we need for cooking our dishes. From time to time, we invite friends and relatives to join us for dinner. Life is a celebration.
I have an Aldi a few minutes away. Yes, I agree the produce is better now than it used to be. I do like that German chocolate with the hazelnuts. Look foward to hearing about your UA-cam success. I cannot believe how fast your channel grew. Great job !!
I have a weakness for handbags. Found some great leather coach bags at the thrift store. Purchased some vintage dooney’s on Poshmark for around $20 to $30 and cleaned them up. I just make sure there are no tears or rips. With a little TLC they look amazing. A fake leather handbag at target can cost more than what I spend on real leather designer second hand bags.
I do the same thing. I wait until they come down in price or I make an offer that's lower. I can touch up corners with a little paint and I condition them as well. They are all high end 100% leather bags that I would never spend the money on. I have gotten some as low as $6-$12. These bags cost hundreds originally. Same can be done with expensive leather shoes. And you can purchase only new shoes if you wish. I love Poshmark for that.
Some very interesting points. I recently divorced my wife of 38 years (2022). And I retired in 2023 at 65 years old. Having had two parents who grew up in the Great Depression, I was instilled with a high degree of frugality. And what I hear now is about taking 2 incomes to live. Let's really ask ourselves to be honest. Do we need two incomes to live or just to buy us stuff that we want?Do we need 2 incomes to buy a house much larger than we need? Do we actually need two brand new cars, multiple TV's, new cell phones every upgrade? Going on very expensive vacations? But Holly, since I bought my ex out and lived in my 4 bedroom house in Illinois, since retiring I have wanted to sell my home, but the market was very tight. With a 2.75% rate on my house note, I would pay much more to live someplace smaller. So I am hoping that the market returns to normal in the coming year.
I’m 61 years old and I downsized and relocated to a slower pace city/state and cheaper cost of living, to a very active 55+ community with seniors from all around the country (and even the world) best decision I could have made. Great tips and excellent video. Thanks ❤
Great tips,!! I discovered Aldi back about eight years ago when it came to a new Costco shopping mall in Manhattan and I have been a loyal consumer of them ever since: the cookies the chocolate, the meats, the eggs, so much cheaper and yet good good value for your money very good tip and you are quite enterprising in many of your endeavors and activities. Good on you, sister friend, thanks for imparting your wisdom with all of us other old geezers!!! lol
Hi Holly, love your channel. Most of the time I don't need to buy in bulk at Sam's Club but on some things Sam's club really does save money. Deluxe mixed nuts (Member's Mark brand) (pecans, cashews, pistachios, almonds and no peanuts) were only 9.98 or something like that and at Walmart the Planter's Deluxe Mixed Nuts for the same size were 16.97 or something like that. Also, the eggs at Sam's club are 5.98 for 24 eggs and they are cage free, no hormones, not fed animal products. Also, coffee is a great buy. I used to buy their rotissiere chickens until I realized I could buy them at Walmart in the refrigerated section for 2.00 each. It's the ones they didn't sell from the day before. I always find a way to beat inflation. Also my Dad and I like to split a slice of pizza about once a month from Sam's Club. Not to mention they have awesome after Christmas sales on clothing and all the Christmas gift sets and decor. Also a great way to make money is invest in Walmart stocks right now. Seriously, they did a stock split and then their stocks increased like crazy and they most likely will do another one soon. They've come a long way towards competing with Amazon in the online selling market. That's why their stock keeps going up.
Yesterday I fixed the seal on my wood stove, and my electricity use went down dramatically. All I needed to do was take out a washer, and I think the cam was on backwards. I also left my desktop computer off most of the day, that helped a lot. I used to leave my PC on all day and all night, but I really don't need to do that . Saves money having it turned off, I can play background music on my cell phone! Also turning lights out in rooms on not in. Seems obvious but I wasn't doing it!
Happy early Birthday Holly! I will be 62 tomorrow! Hooray for Sagittarius people!! 😆 I just started watching your videos about a week ago and thanks for sharing.
that is good of you but in the video Holly says she prefers buying me a coffee because new tube we'll take 50% of the two pounds but only about 5% off the buy me a coffee
Thank you for great advice and great channel. I'm recently retired and on my own and thinking of a side hustle..... UA-cam channel sounds like an amazing venture and looking forward to hearing more from you on this. Love your authentic, positive take on all topics thus far...and you always look fab 💜💛
I took my sister out to eat eat for her birthday. We both got baked haddock . We’re a Massachusetts I got water and my sister got a decaffeinated coffee after the tip $51 so expensive.
We shop at Aldi and Lidl. Best supermarket for seniors. Try not to buy stuff for the house unless I really want it. Most meals we eat at home, unless I don’t want to cook. I splurge on water though.
No Aldi in my area. Absolutely love shopping at Costco as a single person (have done it for 40 years)as it saves a lot of money and I have plenty of room in my condo to store supplies.
When my company closed during the pandemic, I began reselling my own clothes, accessories and home décor online. Now 4 years later, my “side gig” earns as much as my Social Security benefits. I source items from local thrift stores as well as trips abroad, and only work a few hours a day. I love the flexibility of managing my own time and getting paid to shop. At age 64, I can see myself doing this for several more years.
Going out to eat is one of them most enjoyable things in life. You don't have to spend a lot on a meal. You can also invite a friend or two to your home for a potluck lunch or dinner. Rotate homes. It's the company that's important with either scenario.
you don't need the lastest gizmo/gadget... you don't need all those phone and internet subscriptions...you don't need that extra coffee cupholder or "bonus feature" or subscription app in a new car ... and since it's really near christmas then buying presents for little kids under 3 is kinda crazy (they'd be just as happy and excited with an empty box filled with a soft blanket with granma's scent on it and a tasty cookie... trust me on that )
Ha ha I say ALDIS too.. I go there alot and really see a difference in the receipt compared with other grocery stores. Costco, Sams Club, Woodmans.. way too expensive to buy in bulk. ALDI is smaller and much more manageable. Goodwill is a treasure trove for me and there are four of them within driving distance of where I live. I find great buys on clothing, kitchenware, decor. The only thing I can't bring myself to buy are shoes, bathing suits and PJs!
ALDI is my spot!!😂 I stumbled upon ALDI while stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. I would buy bottled, orange Fanta by the case! Dangerous addiction!😂 Fast-forward sixteen years; I've been reunited with ALDI once more in Ocala, Florida. It's still a great store; however, they don't carry the European orange Fanta in the U.S. If anyone is wondering, the orange Fanta overseas has a light orange color, as compared to the super sweet, dark orange U.S. variant. Anyway, thanks for another informative video Ms. Holly! Have a fantastic day!
i loved this one. a few things were on my radar, as far as ways to budget when retired. thank u for the other side income suggestions. im hoping to retire in a cpl of yrs. *crossing fingers*
I love thrifting for all my home goodies! I have been in to Aldi once or twice. I love their odd items like bird feeders, garden decor, bed slippers etc but I didn’t see much meat selection or produce. I’ll plan a stop in there this week and see if it looks better. 😊
I turned 65 last month…welcome to the club! AFAIK, no Aldi’s in my area, unfortunately, it seems like. Another tip, hackneyed as it may be, use your local library. I use it for books and videos and it saves tons of money over renting or buying. Also, YT has a lot of channels featuring old Hollywood movies from the 30s, 40s, 50s, etc. My personal favorites are crime noir films from the late 30s through the mid 50s. I’m not retired yet, but I am cutting back to four days a week this month; I’m soooo looking forward to that schedule.
I retire in 3 months. Good tips. I am in a tiny house that I hate with a lot of land. I am going to sell it and upsize the house and downsize the land. If you have a single bathroom house and the bathroom needs repair you do not have an alternative. I am going to stay in Ontario but move to the Southwest end of Ontario. Good idea to avoid going out to diner. Women seem to think a nice diner is free if I pay for it. I stopped dating in preparation for retirement and moving. I doubt that I will start dating again. I don't even miss it. Lol
We're still in our family home as downsizing would cost us similar amount and then we'd have the moving costs. We're hoping to see lower interest rates down the line when we can reconsider. In the meantime, we're enjoying our larger home with family and friends.
Been shopping there for years. Some of their brands are just renamed, with an Aldi label. When Aldi puts on a sale and or a close out, it's quite the deal. I can get a full sized pizza for 1/2 the prices from the name guys. When I go on vacation, I also stock up their coffee and filters. I haven't found any place cheaper. As far as going out for dinner, I have the money. Because I don't go out for breakfast or lunches. Also, I have cocktail hour at home, THEN I go out. For what they charge, I can usually buy a full bottle, as opposed to getting just one glass. You left out not having a vehicle payment. I have been preaching for years that if you cannot pay off a loan in 3 years, you're buying a vehicle that basically, you shouldn't be in to begin with. There's a difference between wants and needs.
I wish we had an ALDIs . My husband and I live Oregon. We do have a Costco though. My husband is a bargain shopper. Where I am not.we both are heading into retirement.. so we will need to cut back on a few things. I am loving your channel! Thank you! Great tips!
Happy Birthday Holley! Hope I spelled your name right. I do shop at ALDI's everyweek. I miss it if I don't go one week. We have two locations to choose from.
I love these ideas and most I live by - aldi, thrifting, no debt, etc. You are an attractive woman who has great hair and makeup. I would love to know what personal/beauty products you use, hoping to learn some frugal options there. Thank you and there may be a coffee in this for you 😅
Lol thank you! I honestly am not much of a makeup person other than the basics, mascara, eye shadow and cover stick. I don't use foundation, but I pretty much buy all of it at Dollar General. I have used tretinoin for years and that's why my skin looks the way it does.
Happy belated birthday Holly.!!! I'm sending you lots of hot delicious onion rings yummy yummy yummy. 😊 I knew we had several things in common and now that I know we're both Sagittarians it makes a lot more sense. May the arrows fly🎉
Also, for the thrift stores, here in Dallas, they are as expensive as Walmart and Target. I think it is because of all the TikTok videos on reselling. So I only go on half-off sales and not on the weekend, or the line is out the door.
Happy Birthday Holly🎂 🎉🎈🎊 We December babies are special 🥳 My birthday is later this month but I'm looking forward next year and becoming eligible for Medicare....woo hoo...woo....woo. Enjoying your content, continued good luck with your channel and enjoy your day.
Some very useful tips.... Thx for sharing. As stated Income Vrs expenditures should always shape ones criterion of wants Vrs needs decisions.... hopefully facilitative to a desired lifestyle ? I feel one of the most overlooked and now absolutely critical aspects into retirement in these uncertain times is pre-planning to reduce ones exposure to potential unexpected "inflation" in future ? Far beyond merely 'downsizing' ? .... I'd like to highlight therein investigation of actual "regional economics" to lower cost locales may be warranted regardless of familial expectations.... facetime/networking a harsh reality sometimes unfortunately necessary if an even 3-4 hour drive is not always viable.
We are all about our ALDI store. Yes, they now have a better produce section with more organic options at lower prices. I too get their chocolate, its really good and again less expensive. Also, just the other day my husband and I were comparing a jar of pickled cabbage and the Aldi's brand has basic ingredients. it does have sugar but the other brand we compared it to used high fructose syrup instead which we try to avoid. Anyway, it is worth taking a look if you have one nearby.
Hi Holly, Happy Birthday! I just found your channel and subscribed. Online dating after 60, caught my eye. Your channel looks very interesting. Cheers, Rich in Philadelphia

I have been shopping in Aldi for 15 plus years. Apart from good stuff the size of the store makes shopping quick and easy.

Same here. Shopping there over 10 years.

I couldn’t agree more. Having lived it and ready for my own space.
Yup.... Plus the HOA fees on condos can be astronomical
Agree. And the apt rent can change. Mtgs stay basically the same.
That’s exactly what I did. Sold my Townhouse and relocated to a small town and had a small home built
Investigate! You may know someone who has lived there and dealt with management.

Thrifting for home decor is the best thing ever and often overlooked!
Yeah it is👍 It adds much more depth and richness to a home than all that cookie cutter over priced crap in the retail stores.
@ I couldn’t have said it better. Homes can often feel staged. Best compliment is when new guests say that they feel comfy and warm and can see your personality come through the decor. Find what you love, then it will find it’s place, over time.

Aldi is great. I have one five minutes away and it's excellent. PLUS, they sell shopping carts for a quarter. Can't beat that deal.
🤣
Great video! I’m a single, disabled nurse. I’m blessed my home is paid for. I’m new to your channel and loving it🩷.
Hi Holly from Canada. I'm turning 57 and single. You have great tips❤
Diane
You look fabulous for 65! Thank you for your useful and valuable content and I look forward to more. 😊
You sound like you could be my sister! Thank you for sharing!
You are so right about Aldi. Great store. My bill is so much cheaper when I shop there. Thrifting is a fun hobby too😊 Zero water pitcher! Love it! Now if I could just ever make it to retirement…
Agree 100% with every point!!
Thank you so much!
Amazing tips! Thanks for another great video. Happy up-coming 65th birthday!
I am too love shopping at Aldi and Thrift stores 🤗
So glad I subscribed a while back. I love her videos. Can't wait to see the one about her first UA-cam check! Thumbs up! ♥ Beth in Raleigh, NC
Look for it this Friday!
I love Aldi! I also love Thrift shopping! Glad I found your channel. Your content has really helped me. Thank you.
I'm so glad!
You are obviously just reaching your stride! Amazing- and thank you!!!!
all good tips, thanks for sharing
I have an Aldi a few minutes away. Yes, I agree the produce is better now than it used to be. I do like that German chocolate with the hazelnuts. Look foward to hearing about your UA-cam success. I cannot believe how fast your channel grew. Great job !!
I just turned 50 and videos, like this, are great!
I have to say she is extra wonderful.
There are some great bags at thrift stores, I currently carry a Coach bag that I got at Goodwill
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I totally agree about the needing two incomes thing. Do we really need that or just think we do?
Great suggestion about water filter. Buying water bottles is such a waste
It really is!
I’m 61 years old and I downsized and relocated to a slower pace city/state and cheaper cost of living, to a very active 55+ community with seniors from all around the country (and even the world) best decision I could have made. Great tips and excellent video. Thanks ❤
What city?
Thanks for sharing!
@@mparker239 I relocated from the DC/Md area to Raleigh NC. Best decision I’ve made for myself 🥰
Happy 65th birthday, Holly!! Thank you for a lot of sensible suggestions. No Aldi in my area but I will look for alternatives. Namaste!!
Great informative video…very relatable voice…thank you…I’m a older small UA-camr trying to make it while beginning my retirement…just subscribed!
You can do it!
@ Thank you
Great tips,!!
Great tips, thank you!
Great tips, thank you
Happy birthday Sunday, keep the tips coming, thanks again
Happy early Birthday Holly! I will be 62 tomorrow! Hooray for Sagittarius people!! 😆 I just started watching your videos about a week ago and thanks for sharing.
My Birthday was the 1st 61 years . I hope I live alot longer
@Littlebit1263
Happy belated birthday! I'm sure you will have many many more!
@@TimSilvey-b7k Thank you 😊
Happy birthday!! And thank you for watching my channel!
Great tips!
We downsized our home before my 4th child left the nest.
Always shop Aldi and thrift stores.
Thank you😊
Thanks
Thank you so much!!
that is good of you but in the video Holly says she prefers buying me a coffee because new tube we'll take 50% of the two pounds but only about 5% off the buy me a coffee
I am so happy to see ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ on your stand- 🙂
Haha I noticed that, too.
Thank you for great advice and great channel. I'm recently retired and on my own and thinking of a side hustle..... UA-cam channel sounds like an amazing venture and looking forward to hearing more from you on this. Love your authentic, positive take on all topics thus far...and you always look fab 💜💛
I say go for it and thank you so much!
Thank you for the education re: the "Super Thanks!!" It will be cool to meet your grandson. Happy Holidays. Thank you for your content and vibe.
☺
Thank you!
That's awesome, I used to do that but had a hard time making a profit. Good for you for figuring it out!
Good stuff - thank you - cheers from beautiful Vancouver, Canada 🍁
Going out to eat is one of them most enjoyable things in life. You don't have to spend a lot on a meal. You can also invite a friend or two to your home for a potluck lunch or dinner. Rotate homes. It's the company that's important with either scenario.
Great idea!!
you don't need the lastest gizmo/gadget... you don't need all those phone and internet subscriptions...you don't need that extra coffee cupholder or "bonus feature" or subscription app in a new car ... and since it's really near christmas then buying presents for little kids under 3 is kinda crazy (they'd be just as happy and excited with an empty box filled with a soft blanket with granma's scent on it and a tasty cookie... trust me on that )
Ha ha I say ALDIS too..
@@truthboomertruthbomber5125 wow I need to look more ....
Lol, I am with you on that one! Although I have bought shoes there, they just have to be new looking and I spray the inside
These are great money tips!
Spending less in retirement is all okay with me. l have everything l need. l so enjoy just hanging out and watch the world and all the current events
great tips, thanks for sharing. Really practical ideas
i loved this one. a few things were on my radar, as far as ways to budget when retired. thank u for the other side income suggestions. im hoping to retire in a cpl of yrs. *crossing fingers*
I love your tea cup ❤
Holly this is a great video and your thoughts are similar to mine so genius minds think alike! :)
Happy Birthday ! Just recently discovered your channel and appreciate all the wonderful tips !
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I love thrifting for all my home goodies! I have been in to Aldi once or twice. I love their odd items like bird feeders, garden decor, bed slippers etc but I didn’t see much meat selection or produce. I’ll plan a stop in there this week and see if it looks better. 😊
The Aldi frozen fish is GREAT
I turned 65 last month…welcome to the club!
Thank you for the great tips!
Lol
Holly you are a real treasure who is building up treasure
Thank you!
We're still in our family home as downsizing would cost us similar amount and then we'd have the moving costs. We're hoping to see lower interest rates down the line when we can reconsider. In the meantime, we're enjoying our larger home with family and friends.
Happy Birthday! Looking good at 65
Oh thank you!
Happy Early Birthday Holly! I hope you have a great day.
Thank you!!
Happy Birthday!! 😍💝☃❄🎉🎈🎊🎄
Thanks for the info on what UA-cam takes. Will "buy coffee"s in the future.
Happy Birthday!🎉❤
Yes! Thank you!
Great tips, especially about the cocktail hour at home first!
Invaluable tips!
Happy birthday keep up the good work you deserve it
Thank you! Will do!
I wish we had an ALDIs . My husband and I live Oregon. We do have a Costco though. My husband is a bargain shopper. Where I am not.we both are heading into retirement.. so we will need to cut back on a few things. I am loving your channel! Thank you! Great tips!
My son and his family moved back here from Oregon a couple years ago and they are now loving shopping at Aldi!
I prefer Trader Joe's to ALDI, you might not be missing out with no ALDI nearby.
Another Great Video !! Thanks so much 🎉
Thanks for watching!
Happy belated birthday Holly.!!! I'm sending you lots of hot delicious onion rings yummy yummy yummy. 😊
I knew we had several things in common and now that I know we're both Sagittarians it makes a lot more sense.
May the arrows fly🎉
Thank you for your channel.
Happy birthday be safe I have Aldi near me they have great buys thank u for the the tips thank u for sharing
Thanks so much
Happy Birthday, Holly! You look amazing!
Thank you!!
Gotta say, you look great for 65!
Thanks for the information.
Thank you too!
I love Aldi- I get in and out fast and spend less money. It is a smaller store so there are no temptations.
Also, for the thrift stores, here in Dallas, they are as expensive as Walmart and Target. I think it is because of all the TikTok videos on reselling. So I only go on half-off sales and not on the weekend, or the line is out the door.
Omg I am glad you told us about the buy coffee vs super thanks. I didn’t know that!
Yep, buy me a coffee only takes 5%
Happy Birthday Holly🎂 🎉🎈🎊 We December babies are special 🥳 My birthday is later this month but I'm looking forward next year and becoming eligible for Medicare....woo hoo...woo....woo. Enjoying your content, continued good luck with your channel and enjoy your day.
Happy birthday!! Thank you for watching my channel!
Great advice, thanks
