Dear Tidal Gardens Inc :), I would like to say, thank you, very much, to you, for taking your time, energy and effort to both upload and share this video with the youtube family :). Thank you, very much, Tidal Gardens Inc :). I hope you have a lovely day :).
Dont forget to turn off your lights and slowly acclimate them to your lighting over at least two weeks...very important. I have a set of frags that are still frags because I did not acclimate to the lighting whereas I have acclimated group that are growing like wild flower.
For me I want to get the coral out of the shipping water asap. Ammonia is less toxic at lower temperatures and raising the temperature in the bag can be fatal for some sps. For me, out, dip then straight into the tank.
Nice video. What do you do if you live in an apartment? My tank is ready for corals just not sure how to go about introducing new coral to the aquarium.
It takes a while for a tank like that to cycle and settle in. He has fish and corals in there, but it's not a major difference than the last video. Hopefully soon it will be ready for a real update.
I have a lot of I think bristle worms in my tank! I id something stupid one time and didnt dip my corals! They were delivered half dead so didn't want to stress them further! What can I do about it now. They are very tiny reddish appearing. Is that a bristle work or something wore dangerous? One sell I buy from always delivers zoas with what looks to be a spider but when I googles zoa spiders it didnt look the same. they have a striped appearance and have long legs like a spider! What could they be? I only find them in his zoas!
whats the point of bag floating the new additions to temp acclimate only to then place the frags into a separate bucket to drip acclimate. IME i've seen a significant temp change at the end of a 45min drip acclimation in a separate container compared to the DT water. I didn't see a thermometer or anything in the bucket. I always encourage people not to drip acclimate into a separate container for this very reason.
6 foot long killing machine....i chuckled....but regardless of length theres so many vids on destructive pests that anyone would be a fool to ignore your advice. also people...if you can go to their site and take the virtual google maps tour, its awesome!!
What’s the point In acclimatising to temp if you then remove them from the tank and trip water on them. Surely by the time it’s finished the water will be at a different temp in the Basin to the tank
Thank you. I was unsure because I read in a few places that toad stools should never be dipped. However, I read almost everywhere all corals should be dipped. Really enjoy the videos.
I prefer to acclimate the coral to tank temperature last. During that 30 minute time period the water changes to room temperature and will need to be placed in the tank to adjust to tank water temperature.
we had a bristle worm or something like it, before we found it we where loosing fish but no bodies until we stripped the tank down and found this worm thing that was at least 30 to 40 cm so maybe that was it because no more fish went missing after we took it out
Sorry I have to get this out of my system, my cousin has a massive lps reef and he connects a single filter to all 8 of his tanks, he comes home one day to the filter broken and water all over his floor like thousands of gallons .... and a dead collection of rare fish and coral
seeing that worm come out the coral gave me goose bumps
You have a super relaxing voice. Next time I have trouble sleeping I'm going to loop these episodes and put my earbuds in.

Thanks for the cool video. Sounds like it's easy. Didn't know such bugs could come along with your corals.
Love your vids. Also who finds his voice calming?
2:51 omgg a little sea star
I know it seems like a stupid question to ask but what do you do with the pests once you get them off the corals
Another very helpful step by step video, thanks than.
That makes sense too.

Toto Wolf it also depends on the type of coral yknow some are slow grower
The six foot long killing machine comment instantly made me uneasy as I sit near my DT.
Rhett Herring that is bristleworm a.k.a bobby worm, they can grow about a metres and they will kill a tank inhibitant if not prevented earlier
Reminds me of Barry the Bobbitbworm
@@aliazri91 bobbit worm ;-) eunicid worm brutal awesome in species only though.
Yes. We dip them all the time.
Wow, what is the clownfish loving on starting at 0:11? Looks great!

There is no "best" level, but I shoot for about 9-10. I need to do a series all on reef chemistry because it's worthy of a deeper discussion.
Great info thanks for the tips
Great Video!
that is awesome ty for sharing first time i see this
Hi Than, I think ABHI was refering to the hat that hanging in the back ground! LOL
thanks for such a helpful video :)

Do you drip acclimate and then float? Or float, drip, float? I've actually wondered about this too
i literally just put my coral straight to my aquarium
Good info

Nah, we hand pick everything, so it's all from local shows/hobbyists or importers within driving distance.
Great love the video
Wow, great video thank you ! :)
Hi, how many seconds or minutes can you take out the coral from the water without hurting them? thanks
great video
What do you do when you get a coral in mail that came from a super high alk tank. What time frame is ideal to get the coral adjusted with out rtning?

true, would probably make more sense to drip first then temp acclimate
Got a nudi problem would you recommend fresh water dips ?
Hi, thanks for the videos. I'm a subscriber and new to the hobby, what is your take on dipping leather corals as in a toadstool? Thank you.
You can. There are some uncommon nudibranchs that plague leather corals.
Thank you. I was unsure because I read in a few places that toad stools should never be dipped. However, I read almost everywhere all corals should be dipped. Really enjoy the videos.
3:27 that my friend is a fire worm. Don’t touch it will sting

Great video Than keep it up...
Nice way to end the video dang imagine waking up one day to a 6 foot worm in your reef tank
how long should you drip acclimate the corals
What's the best levels of dkh , my local store say between 8 and 12. But test kit says between 7 and 8
Where did you order your coral from. Can I order some from you?
Omg!! I saw one came out of my mushroom and I try to catch it but it got away in my tank what should I do please help!!
Any updates on pauls 240?
Hmm where does Tidal Gardens order their corals? Asia?
Fire bristle? Syllid? Can't tell. One's harmful the other harmless, but as the saying goes if there's doubt, take it out.
Reflection of a trash can not a coral skeleton.
Thats what I want to see
@than is that huge heliofungia skeleton at 00:40 ?
It could have been a Bobit Worm larvae.
The worm looks to be a sylllid polychaete. Not likely to cause any harm.
do you deliver in the philippines?
Hazel Villegas woahh reef tank hobbyists sa pilipinas wow akala ko ako lang meron ehehehe
Hazel Villegas meron ako soft coral kaso dko alam san ko nabili

очень классно
I've found that most things are harmless. It's the one or two that are actually harmful that make me want to pull my hair out.
f that just drop it in....job done.
subscribed, going to start doing this, check my videos out too
U sound so close to the mic
