I have been using coral rx for the last few years. I also can confirm that it works. I didn't think to do a second rinse. Will have to add that to my process as well. Love the way your tank stays clean. I am currently battling a red algae outbreak in my tank.
Great video I just used Coral Rx on my new coral purchase . I got the Coral rx from my mystery reef box. I then glued them on Frag plugs. Which also came in the mystery reef box.
corals don't need to be acclimated in my experience. They don't have nervous systems like fish. They do, however, need to be acclimated to your light. This is simply done by placing them on the sand for a week then moving to the desired spot.
I’d appreciate a video about the tank maintenance process in quarantine. Am I supposed to be doing daily water changes or add established rock to the tank I’m new I don’t know what I’m doing lol
On the bottle they say to add a powerhead or stir water the whole time! I watched several videos and no one is saying to do that so after I too out my torch and the duncan they were all slimy and the others had closed up and look like the dip ate the tissue down to the skeleton on some. I had a batch of 18 corals to dip. Now some are looking better and opening. Torch was super slimey and look like it has melted some..is that normal for them to slime after being dipped? I sure hope it makes it! BUt after reading further to use a powerhead I figured I killed most of them since I dint and just followed a few videos! Not one hitchhiker either! Unique corals has some clean corals. After my localLFS sold me some with aptasia under them that popped out a few weeks later I wasnt going to take any chances. I seriously don't see how that Bayer insect stuff dosnt kill the sensitive corals!
Wow, thanks for the great in-depth explanation. Others kinda skip over this topic.
Hey Jeff, great videos. I love that the podcast is back and going strong.

Why waste money when you can but dettol for £1 and it does exactly the same as that expensive rubbish
Thanks for the video tutorial..Just out of curiosity which corals should not be dipped?
Great video

The imperial system really rocks to calculate how many drops you have to put ;) Nice video
Maybe a stupid question but do you acclimatise the corals by dripping first then dip or do people do one or the other?
Drip first
Gr8 video, thanks
Can you recommend a good glue for inside the tank
Cheap gel super glue. You’ll waste what isn’t used so may as well keep it light on the wallet
How do you go about acclimating corals when you dip them?

I bought corals from liveaquaria and was surprised to see how many pests it had when i dipped it.
They only bring in wild coral what we’re you expecting
@@houseofsharpeis9366 didnt know that at the time this is a year old lol
Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it bro
I just dipped mine nothing seemed to come off except some slime? Are some corals just clean sometimes already?

that would be a great topic! I'll put that on the list.
I've used it for years and like coral rx so far. Takes longer than bayer but less stressful on the coral imo
Just use dettol
GOOD INFO AS ALWAYS
Would love to see a how to frag tutorial
So when dipping with coral rx and then once finished can it hurt a human like for instance when finished you go smoke a cigg can it hurt that person.
What do you mean?
Perfect video exactly what I needed
Thanks for watching!

I’m pretty new to the hobby, my biggest problem is not knowing which type of corals to dip or not.
do you dip mushrooms too like rics and rhodactis?
The coral dip is twice as concentrated for the same amount in Australia. My dip says 15 drops to a Liter of saltwater.
Can u use just saltwater or has to be from your tank? Like already mixed water I use for my tank or actually coming from my tank
Superglue is safe for the animals and the coral???
From what I hear most gel type super glues are good
I dip just aboyt anything new for my tanks fresh or salt
As soon as you started talking about maths I was lost
Me to
Thanks great video
Greas video. Thanks!
Is there any corals I can’t dip ?
Nice tips👌
What about the glue. What kinda of glue did you show in the video
I used PolypLab premium glue
Thanks.
What about that other one you should. I think I seen it before
@@jairocampos2584 I get that at the dollar store. I've started using PL glue because my corals were falling off the rock work with the other stuff.
Cool thanks.
Cool video would be cool to see under microscope if there was anything attached to the corals
I have some other videos that show some pest coming off the coral. This coral came out of my display so it better not have any pest on it.
That doesn’t do anything for eggs that maybe on the base
👊👍
If they ever was a man who
was made for wearing a kilt it's you, Jeff. No kidding. Bet you have Scottish relatives in your history. Think about it man
Dettol does the job and only costs £1
