I think this is the only show where the sequel is equally as good
Honestly, I actually always thought this was better than the first one. The first one was amazing, but there were a couple of parts that fell flatter with me. Not all the way, but I just had a couple of things that didn't click as well. I can't actually say that about the sequel.

@@aerieleah533 idk, i didnt especially appreciate the teacher/student jokes in this one. but to be fair i'm pretty sure the problem i had with that is more with the comments. those jokes are supposed to be funny BECAUSE its absurd and gross and shouldnt actually happen but then there are those people who will always make it about shipping, giving too much legitimacy to a passing goof that was never meant to be genuinely considered
when will i learn that reading the comments is too often a terrible idea

Despite the fact that this is a hilarious parody of the books, there are parts of it that make me want to cry-like the part with Lily and Snape, and Snape seeing Lily in the mirror. The secret to a good parody is that there's always a moment when it's just not funny anymore, but that moment will always speak to your heart. This last scene was just that. Dumbledore's speech to Harry, and Harry's speech at the end...they reminded me of why Hogwarts owns a special place in my heart. It may not be real to the Muggle world, but it's real to the HP fans, and it's real to me.

This is completely true. No matter how many other books I read or movies I watch, I know I'll always come back to Harry Potter, and Hogwarts will always be there to welcome me home.

Yeah, but that's what makes it so special! Sure we have to go back to school and work and our daily lives, but imagine how totally awesome re-reading the books is going to be! Until then, we've gotta live in the muggle world, where they'll tell us that magic isn't real and that the stuff in HP didn't really happen. But you know what? It was real, it did happen. We spend time with other fans, we made friends online. It's a part of us. Harry Potter is bigger than us. It's bigger than any of its publishers and creators, and it's gonna be around long after we're gone. Maybe we'll even see our kids read the books and watch the movies! That's the thing about Hogwarts. Now matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back!

I will never not cry pathetically at the end of this. Cause the same is true for us, Hogwarts will always be there for us. And one day we get to show our children this magical world that we grew up with
Not only does this bring back Hogwarts memories, but also I find it very touching that these are all college kids, and that this is something that's going to stay with them for the rest of their lives. Seeing them reminds me of my college friends and all the fun we used to have.
I love that this is 6 years old and everyone still loves it ^_^

Over 10 now...and I just discovered StarKid during this week and love all the musicals I have seen so far.
(From Germany by the way and I don´t know if it actually wasn´t a thing here back then or if all of it just went over MY head...but I guess probably the first one. Only discovered it after binging glee, watching some cast interviews afterwards and wondering, what Chris was talking about with that "Harry Potter Video".

THAT was one of the best things I've watched in a long time. I think it deserves more attention! I didn't even realise this was the second one haha. Harry's speech really makes me think that he's, in a way, talking about Starkid, too. Not long after this, a few of the founding members of Starkid (including Darren) graduated from the University of Michigan. He's making the point that no matter where any of the founders of Starkid go, it will always be there. Also that for us, as fans, "No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back". I love them all so much and I'm so proud of the members who stayed, like Lauren, Joey, Nick, and Joe, but I'm also insanely proud of Darren for moving on to bigger, greater things. He won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe recently! I'm just so happy for where everyone has ended up, and like Darren as Harry says here, Hogwarts will always be with us.

first time watching all of the Very Potter Musicals, and I already knew the song Days of Summer from camp. And the best part was, that camp is the best camp i've ever been to, so it's amazing Days of Summer is a song we learned to sing

I appreciate those words so much, especially during this quarantine. My school was about ready to open the spring musical when we got quarantined. My drama teacher refuses to cancel and is planning to postpone and I can't wait to get back onstage with all my cast mates and belt once more. My time away from theatre has really made me appreciate even more.

I feel like Harry's speech at the very end can almost describe Harry Potter as a franchise, in a way. No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back.
and that's why I love that Harry Potter is my special interest. even though I don't support Rowling, I can always just watch the musicals, movies or read the books, fanfics and countless posts on the internet with headcannons which will broaden my imagination even more
I love that at the end the audience start clapping with actors when in the first song in avpm they didn't. It just makes me cry more than the fact that they're singing Going back to Hogwart.
So.... Harry is James, Ron is Sirius, Hermione is Remus, and Draco is Peter.
Draco is Snape. Neville is Peter . Peter could have been courages and brave but he decided to become a coward when the time came. When the time came for Neville he went on a different path and was one of the reasons that Voldemort was defeated in the end.

As much Harry Potter media as I consume, official and not, Harry's speech here is the best encapsulation of my feelings about the series.
this is hardly the first and most definitely will not be the last time i watch this musical... but it still makes me laugh and cry just as hard each time i watch it -absolute genius!
When you look at the credits, you see how much of the cast also wrote the play, wrote the music, choreographed the dances, made the costumes and so on. That's what makes this play so personal. It's made by the cast!

what i expected from a very potter sequel: a sequel to one of the best made pieces of harry potter fanfiction
what i got: Cinderella 3 a twist in time
Can we talk about how Draco being half elf is a more compelling character arc than Scorpious potentially being Voldemort's kid. Also, I feel like the script writer put more time into this than he shouldve. Some of this shit lines up with the actual plot in the series. Such as, if this were cannon and Draco was part elf, it could potentially explain why Draco couldnt have kids, explaining why people thought Scorpious was Voldemort's. Or maybe I'm putting too much thought into this

I’m gonna be completely honest and say that I think some of the cannon tings in the AVPM series are better than the actual books in some bits. I just love it so much.
