I can't thank you enough for this video! I recently have started doing my own nails, watched a TON of videos and not once has anyone mentioned pinching a brush. New subbie 💅🏻💕
Thank you so much for this video!! I had no idea this was even a thing until my friend who is a nail tech mentioned it to me. I was literally like “😲😲😲 makes sense to why I had a hard time applying acrylic” lol
Yess a pinching vid as promised 🙌🏽 i been waiting for this 💛 do you think you could do a detailed video on acrylic application? Like how to avoid thick nails. Sometimes i feel like my application is hit or miss sometimes nice and natural then sometimes wayyy too thick 🤦🏽♀️
Hi There I am a Newbie and self taught nail Tech. I was struggling to pick up good beads with my round brush and was using so much of my powder without success until I realized that it it much easier as a beginner to start with a square flat brush so I pinched mine now look flatter and squared hopefully I can pick up good consistency beads!
I have paid over $30 for a good brush but was terrified that I would mess it up if I took these pliers and pinched my brush with them🤦🏿♀️ thank you sooo much for showing me what to do. I'm positive my sets will come out better now🥰❤️
@3:42 yikes i was told to never do this honestly my brother never explained why exactly but i think it has to do with some physics thank you helpful video !!
I am just getting into acrylics and I will try this! Can I ask if it matters if we buy a pricey brush or not? Can we get good stuff off aliexpress? Thanks! xox
as long as it 100% kolinsky you should be fine! Ive never tried brushes from aliexpress but if its inexpensive it doesnt hurt to try it out! Thanks for watching
Well here we are- 1,000 failed acrylic attempts later using round brushes- taking into consideration I’m a newbie to acrylic but also blaming my monomer because it was setting too fast but also it contained MMA, to buying new monomer and still failing with the round brushes, to watching endless YT tutorials then realizing, “okay, maybe I need a flat brush”🤔. So, I tried to order some flat brushes off of Amazon but they don’t ship to my forwarding address, so I scoured the globe of Google to find a store who will send to my forwarding address, who I then find, ordered from them but then get a message saying they need confirmation that I placed the order and won’t send it out until then, so I send the confirmation, hear nothing from them so order brushes from Walmart, to then see an email from the other place putting my order through to then waking up this morning to a video that says how to crimp your acrylic brush. 🥴😭🤣
I know i comment a lot 🤦🏽♀️ but im always coming back to your vids for little tips and tricks. I just wanted to suggest another video. Maybe on how to maintain shape while applying acrylic. And how to ensure all nails stay the same length. Maybe group it all in a “back to basics” kind of video idk lol looking forward to whats to come on your channel !!💕💕💕
I have been doing nails since the mid '80's I was taught NOT to touch the bristles because of oils from the hands Now everyone is touching their bristles.
Carmie Anderson I also been doing nails since the 80’s (im 59, recvd my Master Cosmetologist license in ‘86, had my salon since ‘99) and I not only still dont finger or touch my bristles (if they real sable-nylon ont matter) but I also strive to keep my brush in a point. Not sure why she buys a oval brush to make it flat when you can just buy a flat brush🤷🏽♀️
Glitterbels do a no odour monomer, I’ve just started using it as I’ve been getting awful headaches from the smell. The no odour monomer does take a little big longer to set but it’s fine if you’re not in a hurry! x
Lmao my bad, I just realised that you said that in the beginning. The video started playing on the feed page before I clicked on it so I missed that part 😂
Doesn't the top coat COME OFF in the MONOMER each time u use it??? Its kind of a waste right doing that specific part. Otherwise the rest of the video was AMAZING!!!
it doesn't affect the monomer. its a very minimal amount of topcoat. also i mentioned that it isn't 100% necessary, and to only do this until you feel your brush holds its shape enough on its own. Thanks for watching!
@@MakeMeUpMia So apply the reg top coat let it dry and when im ready to use my brush just dip in monomer first then start applying my acrylic?and after each set clean my brush apply top coat and let it dry and its good for the next use?
DO NOT DO THIS!! Your supposed to take your fingers and gently remove the resin from your brush before dipping it into the monomer not just dip it into the monomer. Smh. Famous nail techs do it this way.
Unless things changed in the past 8 years I was shown and told different but I could be wrong. I've been doing nails for many years and not once In those years have I ever seen anyone Cut, pinch their brushes or not remove the resin from your brush before dipping it into the monomer. If you don't remove the resin before your putting that onto your clients nails along with acrylic and monomer and your not supposed to do that. Cutting the bristles will take away from it's natural shape and also pinching but if that works for you then I'm woman enough to admit I'm wrong. Now, if you only cut the very tip of the bristles then that shouldn't destroy your brush but all this also depends on what kind of brush is being used. I am not trying to be mean so I do apologize if I came off that way I just saw something new that I was not taught and I just wanted to help but like I said whatever works for you that's what matters.

This is a lifesaver!! Thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
So Happy I Found This Video !! Thank You!!
When you put the too coat on the tip of the brush and you dip it would it start messing up over time or will it effect acrylic application?
I would not recommend using topcoat on an acrylic brush. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS LADIES
Thanks for sharing!! Learned something! 🤗💅🏼💞
Yea, thank you. Some people can't pinch tje brush right. I want to learn on my own.
I had no idea can you do old brush like this

What scissors specifically are you using to trim the tip of the brush?

Why do we have to pinch please?
I have been doing nails since the mid '80's I was taught NOT to touch the bristles because of oils from the hands Now everyone is touching their bristles.
Carmie Anderson oils are fine on kalinsky. I put on my brush to keep it from drying out when I need to clean it

yes
Great video
Hey can u please tell me which brand the white brush is and what size thanks
Angela Figueroa the brand is Christio and it’s a size 16
What number brush is the best ? I like my acrylic sort of thick
LOVERTITS BARBIE I like a #16 best
wheres this brush from?
g my local nail supply
Does the top coat harden it??
LOVERTITS BARBIE just while it’s drying but once you put it back in your monomer it will soften again
whats the best monomer to use that doesn't have a strong smell?
Glitterbels do a no odour monomer, I’ve just started using it as I’ve been getting awful headaches from the smell.
The no odour monomer does take a little big longer to set but it’s fine if you’re not in a hurry! x
Use a mask
Use a air purifier it works wonders !
Where in the world did You find a pair of pliers? Did you drive to South Dakota? Nebraska? Lol
hahha ive had these for years. They used to really come in handy whan my brush on glue would get so stuck that i couldnt get the lid off lol
Thank u..🌹✊🏽

I just prefer to flatten my brushes my self. You can definitely purchase a pre pinched brush.
