You must have been returning with a headwind. I did the same distance with my P3P but I only used a parabolic reflector. I had no wind and when I landed I had 33% battery left. I actually canceled the return to home and manually brought it back home. I only did it one time because I’m too old to enjoy the adrenaline rush. Good flight mate.
I did have head wind on the way back I manged 9k with different aerial and got back mind you with two batteries 11k was the longest distance but lost the video its all good fun and with all mishaps the drone is still with me thanks for uour comment
I got 19,000 feet without the ARGtek. I used parabolic dish. I had a 5 mile farmers field with Absolutely no interference Good job. Thanks for posting.
I think I had better luck than this guy. I was on the shore at the ocean and flew my P3P out to this island with a light house on it. Turns out it was 5.7Km away (100 meters less than this). I flew around and took some video and pictures, wasn't in any real rush, then... it started to rain. I burned back as fast as I could and still had battery to spare at the end. There wasn't much wind that day, which I suspect made the difference here. Sounds windy in his environment.
16 meters per second out to 5800 meters at 70% battery, then returns at 9 meters per second to emergency land 30 meters shy of take off at 10% battery. Suggest that next time, on AutoReturn, switch to manual mode and accelerate to 16 meters per second, returning faster to save battery. Another option is to fly a Waypoint Mission, with speed set to maximum. I do some Waypoints at 56mph, and ATTI return speeds to 77mph.

Good flight bud, quick thinking to adjust battery levels to get home :-) just wish dji would produce and sell a bigger battery like they have done with the inspire as the battery is the limiting factor for the range with the p3 range.
hi yes the battery is definitely is an issue for long distance but as it was my earlier days of learning i shouldn't have let it come back on its own as that takes more power and much slower now I've got extra battery wrapped to the side of it now I can come back from 11 kilometers thanks for your comment buddy

TECH REVIEWS NORTH EAST/UK I'm sure you gonna love it the battery mod gives me only 26 min because all my batteries have been charged over 35 times so I'm only getting 16 min with my batteries plus another 12 min with extra batteries you should get around 19 20 min flight with your new battery but if you have stock ariel you won't need extra batteries at the moment I'm going for a flight tomorrow last couple of flights my screen recorder crashed so no footige hopefully all good tomorrow if you need the batteries let me know I'll send you hid details

Great flight, I like very much. A safe environment to fly, great. Did you have the return flight strong headwind? The drone flies back much more slowly. Or has the "Return to Home - mode" to do? If a manual Return have been better?
hey snoop dog :) thanks for watching no return home is set at 10 meters a sec which I didn't know at the time is set automatically so I always now cancel and fly back my self that way you can even go further if you want if the wind is not a issue yes I like to go none built up areas if I can as London is pretty built up and I have to travel out just have to do more weekends away

I can't use stock any more I've installed yours I have done 5 k in land like London 6k in a field could gave gone more but battery safe kicks in you can see that flight on my channel

"Battery low" boi it's at 70% creds to dji for making a self calculating fail safe too know how much. Battery is low

Made Arya im not realy sure it was around 2 years ago i have updated since but i kept to the one before they restricted the distance as i updated ayear ago then rolled back on as at that time it only allowed you to go back to last firmware update im not sure if you can now go to that firmware

fly far keep it over green land or water and below 400ft and away from airports.

@@tolycobbold7659 yes I still got it after all these years I did have some miss haps but I always managed to find it dont be scared it's the hole fun of it that was my first attempt to send it that far with the Ariel mod

Range test are very safe if you obey under 400 ft limit and away from airports.
Very safe location to fly over land or water no one will be harmed
Who cares Rotorhead many people break the law on roads each day like I said fly over water or green land and keep it below 400ft away from any major airports your safe and sound your more likely to get hit by a bus on the roads.
