Also if you haven't played DayZ before, it's a highly PVP shoot-on-sight-or-get-shot sorta game. If I don't shoot someone, they'll 80% shoot me. I'm not a dick for protecting my life :)

Yes, because once you're located you can also be sniped and flanked. Got to keep outflaking your targets and not let them flank you.
Yes, 1 shot can be hard for the human mind to disguise where exactly it came from. 2 shots, you definitely have people looking.

Having a good monitor helps too. High end monitors are significantly better than your average 60hz 1080p monitor. It's way easier to spot enemies on my BenQ than it was my older Asus

Got a couple of us to return to standalone for the first time in years. Had some fun. Sadly your server is often so low pop it can be a challenge to even engage with people outside of the traders.

I remember once me and my friend found heli landed in forrest, so we have waited over 10 min, and bunch of guys run literally 1m next to me without noticing me. Ofc we shredded them out and we stole heli :D Best gaming moment in my entire life!

Yo I have an arma 3 question, why do you have to aim higher with the 300 [m] scope? I went on editor put an AI exactly 300 m infront of me and had 2 scopes with 300m zeroing (RCO and ARCO) and aimed above their head (between the 300 and 400 lines) and I managed to hit their head....
is this game worth getting?

Yo @operatordrewski how far along has stand-alone come? Probably haven’t played it in like over 5 years. I’ve been back into scum after a long while and really enjoying it with trade/barter system. Does dayz stand-alone have trader NPC camps now u can buy/sell gear now? I wish dayz had trader camp safe zones like in Deadside.
If I am not wrong, community servers now do have NPCs and all that. Official servers do not though.

did u check dayz classic server?No basebuildings(only arma 2 tents),animated heli crashes,added arma2 compas,Old arma 2Chernarus map,cars(disabled gears-automatic,tyres fit on all veliches,removed
cooler...)removed disases and temp,cz550,dmr,an94,bizon and more arma 2 dayzero weapons...mode is great just need more players
