I've cast my own stuff for several years now, pellets and slugs both and haven't bought any airgun ammo for over three years now. Ain't no shortage of good ammo here !!!

I like to see it shot in a rifle vise every time you shoot the gun jumps over to the right and that's where the slug hits

Hey man let me help you out. I have cast and shot every .357 slug available through my Challenger and hands down the best one I have found by far is the Lee Precision .358-125-RF mold.
I size them down to .357 and always lube my slugs with lemon Pledge. . They are a little snug closing the bolt but I get sub 2" groups at 100yds with them all day long. And they pack mean energy behind them.

I would like to try some of those out before I purchase a mold.

The front of the barrel is bouncing around from the recoil hold on to the front of the gun too !

Between the hammer spring being so and throwing the hammer forward so hard to hit that valve so hard it throws your shot off let alone The Recoil of the projectile leaving the barrel....... like trying to shoot a break barrel.

I think you may have a barrel resonance issue going on… I’d shoot a 12 shot string using same point of aim and capture velocity & air pressure on each shot. Pretty sure you will find a “pressure node” where the projectiles group. I’ve often found that the hottest shot of a string is a “flyer” due to barrel harmonics. I agree, run slugs through resizing die. I use a modified home brew case lube for resizing rifle brass. It’s one part liquid lanolin to 3 parts 90% isopropyl alcohol. Put in spray bottle and spray bullets before sizing. I also swirl in a little synthetic 2-cycle motor oil on to the bullets. Bullets will feel greasy but seem to work ok while pushed through sizing die. I’m only sizing about .001 to .002 off cast bullet. If you knock them down more you might need some alox or a proper bullet lube. Good luck. I also find my Luther Walther barrel leads after 30 to 50 shots depending on velocity, bullet design & lube quantity. I’m finding bullet designs with driving bands lead less than bullets designs that are straight “walled”. Guess that makes since as there is less surface contact with rifling. Anyway, enjoyed the video!!

If your leading that quick, maybe your slugs still too large, or suffering with the alloy. Could even be the oil. Have you slugged your barrel?

@@felurianmasters4369 - what big bore rifles/calibers have cast bullets for and what did you find regarding accuracy? Did you cast from pure lead or did you use an alloy? I’m casting using wheel weights versus pure lead. However, I can’t complain. My Texan groups 5 shots well under 1.75” on a good day at 100 yds. In fact, 4 shots will usually be under 1.25” and the 5th will open the group slightly. This is using Lee 120 grain 309 mold. I run them through a .309 sizing die just to ensure uniformity. I’m pushing them at about 970 FPS. So making over 240 FPE with this tune. Also, what do you lube your slugs with?
I’ve not slugged the barrel. And most recovered slugs have had damage so not suitable to measure. However, everything I’ve read indicates .309 I’d the size to go with. I’ve experimented with .308 to .311. Under sized slugs generally don’t group as well. .309 seems to work well.

@@motorgearhead wheel weights are too hard. Lymans guide to casting bullets. You need pure softest lead typically for airguns. The barrels are made from soft steel. Much luck in ur endeavors, I just have a passion for projectiles. I think I paid like 28$ off ebay, Lyman casting book

@@motorgearhead wheel weights are known to be good for powder guns, when making hollowpoints, these seem to be relevant, and even preferred by some. With air, you want soft pure.

@@motorgearhead its the antimony they add to it to harden it. Very small percentage radically changes the lead properties under pressure. Critical duty by Hornady is barrier penetrating, yet still expands hitting flesh. Alot to do with jacket here. But the magic juice is antimony, it's probably equal to wheel weights.

This gun like .352 size slug. If use .356 size need 150gr. If use under 120gr .351-.352 is very impressive.

So I'm guessing you'll slug the bore then get a custom die manufactured to the exact diameter of the slugged projectile? I've got the FX 35 Impact, so I'm following your progress 🇦🇺

i have the fx impact .357 and I would love to see it do 970fps with a 95 grain slug. This gun is no joke. I do believe it would benefit from a CZ barrel thats a lil longer to tighten up those groups. I'll be watching you sir.

Great video ! Did you melt down those Seneca 95 grain slugs and make your own? Your 356 cal 95 grain did better than the NSA slugs. Peace
