A version of this vehicle was sold in the United States first as the Saturn Vue and when Saturn was discontinued as the Chevrolet Captiva. No diesels were available. Just 4 and 6 cylinder gasoline engines as well as a hybrid. They sold fairly well and have a decent reputation for reliability/durability. Most up for sale have 175 to 200k.
Bought two cars because of your road tests Barrie currently looking at one of these now saves so much time looking at other peoples daft reviews yours are spot on and just what customers are looking for thanks and keep up the good work
i went from a chevrolet captiva. to a sensible ford focus 1.0. to craving the big 4x4 again. i love my antara. it loves the petrol station but its a joy to drive.
@@viperxxsniper its quoted as around 46 mpg. but its no where near that to be honest. they are thirsty vehicles i would say im getting mid 30s. iv got the 2 wheel drive. the 4 wheel drive ment to be even thirstier
Love every video you do it’s good you take time for every vehicle and talk about it a would definitely buy a car from you keep up the good work Barry thanks
Where is the link to the Sat Nav/Phone pairing etc? Just in the process of buying one of these and any insights are appreciated. Need to know what buttons do what. Finding the handbrake button a bit disconcerting after a normal handbrake. Thanks for the video. Really helpful
I have the white antara, the heating system is awful very confusing, takes forever to get warm , just had icy conditions in the uk took at least 15 mins to set off waiting to defrost , would of thought this would be a top priority being awd but apart from that its great , absolutely massive car , boot is massive , good features , heated seats , cruize control , good spotlights. Sat nav is useless thou
Sorry Barrie I cannot agree. I was warned off buying one but didnt listen. They have a reputation for reliability issues including regular dpf issues. I had numerous issues in warranty and finally at 45k miles only it shredded the front transfer box, a far from unknown issue apparently.. this cost over £4k to fix. Fortunately vx stepped in with a 50% contribution. I got rid as soon as it was fixed as the clutch started playing up. I wouldnt have one thrown at me.
The sat nav is s.ow to respond to the touch, searches take forever and whoevr decided the screen should go way down there clearly never had to use it. I gave up and bought a Garmin.
The sat nav isn’t great but adequate. Most of us now have smart phones so not a problem. I have a 64reg which I’ve had since it was a year old and have to say it’s been amazingly reliable as would the two other people I know who have them. Their will always be a dud one of any make but I can’t rate it enough.
@@jleyd Like I said, mine wasnt the only dud one. I was warned off them but listtened to people lIke you who said 'oh ive vever had a problem ';, they were wrong. Just check reliability surveys and warranty claims. Even the vx dealer who fixed the €4k transfer box conceded they get a .ot back with issues like mine had. By all means enjoy yours but it will bite you eventually.
That's quite nice
It is a nice car, will be mint when we have the wheels refurbished
@@BarrieCrampton indeed, always liked the Antara

A car that should be avoided like the plague. Sat nav is an utter joke, reliability is none existant.
as with your other comment, the sat nav system is perfectly adequate and used throughout the vauxhall range
