    I’m 52 and got this wheel about a month ago. Took it to a trip to Chicago and it zipped me all around the city and suburbs. I don’t push the speed too much because I frankly just need to keep getting more confident and stronger in my skills. I live in the mountains of NC and this thing takes me everywhere I want to go with ease. Steep hills, trails, almost anywhere. My biggest challenge is mount and dismount. I’m not horrible at it, but I’m not super graceful either. Anyway, for me, it’s a great wheel. Super portable and more capable than I am.

      52 huh? When did you start riding? I really want to give it a try and I'm 51 heading toward 52 myself. Are you a former skateboarder or anything like that which would have made it easier for you? I would just hate to put $1000 on a wheel and then end up selling it because it just too hard or too frustrating. Thanks for any feedback you may have.

      @@MichaelHollandOne My kids got two Inmotion V5Fs about five years ago. So I learned to ride some with them. I will say it seems really difficult until all of a sudden I understood what to do. There is much better info online these days. I’m not a super confident rider. I don’t take risks like I would back in the day. They are fun but a learning curve is going to have to be overcome. I agree. It’s a lot to spend for a happiness risk. I haven’t ridden in about 3 years, but it came back pretty quick. This wheel is a little different than bigger ones. But not in a bad way. It’s much easier to ride slow in heavily crowded areas.

    The 40T cell is rated 35a discharge vs 9.8a on the 50E.
    The 300wh 20S1P 40T would have a higher discharge rating than the 750wh 20S2P 50E.

    I have the 300wh, got it as my first wheel early this year. Was riding to/from work around 15mi round trip 5 days a week. The 300wh has a really hard time doing the 25mph that it says that it will. I have mine set to tiltback at 19mph and I'd ride the tiltback the entire 7mi. Thing bassically lives in my trunk of my car now so whenever I have to drive I always have a wheel with me. If I'm somewhere why drive across the street or down the block to the next stop. It's perfect for that so I would recommend it to a rider who has anxiety when away from their wheel. That being said I rode it to work 6+ months, its got 1600mi on the clock, it's a capable wheel. I ride a mini bull to work now and it's great.

    I will never understand why people think mten3 and mten4 are too small and too difficult to ride compared with a much larger wheel. Boggles my mind. I learned to ride EUCs with the mten3. Everything from mounting, balancing, turning, carving, pendulum idling, etc. When you have a small wheel it's very easy to learn all of that because it is a much much lighter and agile wheel. Once I got the hang of it, the transition to V12HT or Sherman was a shock to me. These are gigantic and bulky between the legs. All the agility I enjoyed like turning on a dime was significantly stunted. Sure the huge wheel helps negate defects on the road and make things much more stable but if you ride the mten4 responsibly and at the prescribed speed it was meant to be ridden, you should never have any issues. I reach for the mten4 over 90% of the time over my other wheels and that's a testament to how practical it is.

    • @OWGAC
      @OWGAC  Рік тому +2

      it is a little bit trickier to mount and dismount with how short these wheel is, but I def agree that once you get on its easier to actually learn how to ride because its easier to "micro-adjust" to keep your balance.

      @@OWGAC Yeah it's all or nothing when you get on or off. But I'll give you one better. I don't even dismount from the Mten4 (or any EUC) for that matter now. Being able to go super-slow was great as could generally go wherever I wanted without having to step off. When I bought mine I weighed 240+ and it still could get up to 20mph and even with the 300t I can get up to speeds and I could get 17mpc out of it. Probably more but I try not to push it. Now I’m 40lbs lighter and can hit 25 and only on fresh charge. Also without the extra lbs I’m getting 19 miles mpc. I didn’t list to you either about getting for my first. I mean price obviously plays the bigger part when it comes something I’d never even tried. I could ride manual unicycles so I figured it would be something close but, that really are nothing alike! Once you're up and running, the wobbles will get you, but you learn where they happen. When comparing the amount of mileage ridden and proficiency between the MTEN4 and the Onewheel, they're pretty much on par. The MTEN4 may need a little more time (miles) to learn. One downside is that it is very easy to overlean. Because of that I ride it only in hard mode. From my perspective it can do 30kmh with quite decent safety margin, 35kmh is max i would recommend.

    Small wheels wont be more practical weight wise (backpackish) until the next evolution in power cells, 5 to 10 yrs IMHO.

    For city riding, I'd rather have one of the smallest & more practical wheels like this than one of the largest & heaviest tombstones 😆.
    They should add a detractable suitcase handle.

    IMHO too inherently unstable for real city travel (wobble, cut out danger) for this risk averse person. (No amount of armor will save you if you become a speed bump for a car.) Still, always enjoy Hsiang's content, even when not particularly inspired by the product of the day. I'd also personally rather power-roll a compact wheel than routinely heft a micro one. Believe IM V-14 and LK Lynx (yes, more expensive) are in the evolutionary size/ weight sweet spot for most versatile, practical daily.

    its dangerous to ride on such tiny wheel size.
    Dont risk broken ankle like Marty, some bigger hole or curb and You can fall - choose bigger, muuuuch more steady and safer wheel.

    • @georgieman1910
      @georgieman1910 Рік тому

      @@roccatagon no that would just bump you or jostle you off at best. It’s like suddenly going off a curb and then bouncing back up again. I have done that many times and I mostly regain my footing and balance. You still have a good chance because the wheel remains upright and balanced. With Marty, it was a sudden loss of power and the wheel just went limp. Not the same thing.

    As an experienced rider of Inmotion and Leaper Kim unicycles, I was deeply disappointed with the Begode Mten4. The overall craftsmanship and design are a letdown-essentially, it’s just two metal plates clumsily put together, lacking any sense of design. The edges are rough and can easily catch and injure your hands. Additionally, the transparent cover arrived with permanent, glue-like stains that necessitated a complicated replacement involving disassembly. Regrettably, Begode does not acknowledge these issues as defects and refuses refunds. I strongly discourage purchasing this model due to its inferior quality and poor customer service.
