Amber is the best. Between Amber's "How Did We Get Here" segments on her show,
and "A Closer Look", there's enough history, social studies and laughs to teach a course in high school.
Yup. And she is fu..ing good singer too.
Truly, "How Did We Get Here" is in a fantastic format to learn. I love history yet hated it in school because it was taught horribly. A list of dates to memorize and regurgitate on a test?? American exceptionalism? I have learned far more important historical lessons on my own and from Amber than I ever did in school!

The funniest part of it being that Tate the sex-slave trafficker and alt-right darling obviously planned the stunt for some time, and Greta took him out with about as much thought as you'd need to decide that a lettuce was a little too wilted to try to save in a salad.

This segment is always great, but this was the best one in a while. I didn't think anyone could really find a fresh angle on George Santos at this point, but wanting to know about his skin care regimen was a wrinkle I didn't expect.

The real problem with Lensa is it works by basically just mixing together art from human artists, most of whom had not consented to have their art used by an algorithm that could put them out of business.

@@hrmmmmmm Yes. And you PAY human artists to do it. The reason artists are freaking out is the app can do their work for free. Imagine if, with no infrastructure whatsoever to protect you, your livelihood becomes completely replaced by AI overnight. And the AI is doing your work by using the work you have done in the past, without your approval. Also, if I were to paint something that has the exact form of a previous artist, with the exact color scheme and style of another artist, and a background from another artist, and posted it online, without crediting any of the other artists, I would be accused of plagiarism. It would be taken down from most art platforms. There is a huge difference between humans taking inspiration from each other, and an App stealing someone's work and altering it just enough that it can't be easily traced, to give away for free. I am not an artist, but I am listening to their concerns, and their concerns are VERY VALID.
@@hrmmmmmm That's not what human artists, ya doof. Because the machine is not "influences" - for a machine copy-pasting an image is so simple, we don't even question it. For a human to copy an image, that's a feat of years to decades of practice.
Case in point - when a similar machine is built for music, it's suddenly done with care for the copyright. Why? Because the creators know the machine is stealing art, but unlike the music industry, artists don't have massive corporations backing them up.

I went back to watch some of her early "Amber Says What" shows and she was sometimes on for less than two minutes and still KILLED IT with her take on current news. I'm so glad Late Night realized what a force they had in Amber's "...What" segment and have let them become longer and longer. She is comedy and pundit GOLD!!! Her show is fabulous, too. "How We Got Here" should be required viewing in all history and social studies classes, imo. ❤

Tate was arrested because Romanian authorities saw the Romanian-specific chain pizza box on the video and knew he was in the country. The organization that investigated him has the acronym GRETA. I love that story so much on every level.
Do you really believe that the authorities couldn't know when he entered the country and that they really had to use the pizza boxes to know his location?

There's a group called GRETA¹ that is part of the EU convention against human trafficking.
They have been calling for action against Andrew Tate for a while, and it's theorised that Tate got the two mixed up and when he heard that GRETA was calling for his arrest he decided to troll Greta…

The acronym isn't in English, which is why it doesn't match up with the individual words for English speakers.
If that is true, then it makes that Tate character all the more pathetic, and I hope whatever judge sentences him adds 10 years for stupidity.

Andrew Tate just proved Karma is real, and Amber's summary was spot-on! For those that didn't get the pizza box reference, it was from a Romanian pizza place, so it proved he was in Romania, giving authorities a hint were to look from him to arrest him. This was after he publicly said he was moving to Romania because he thought he was less likely to get arrested for sexual assault there...

If i remember correctly, he moved to Romania because the police there is corrupt so he thought he can get away with anything through bribes. What he forgot to think about is that contries where the police is corrupt usually also have awful prison conditions. Hope he'll rot there forever now.
