In this video we give you a tour of the Blackcomb Terrain Park. I'm up snowboarding today with TJ from Board Archive who will give you a tour of the larger line in the park and get some of his first jump and rail snowboard tricks down of the season. They recently put in some new rails and increased the size of the jump. I'll give you a tour of the small / medium side of the terrain park and work on getting a few snowboard ticks down. Typically the Blackcomb terrain park is geared more towards the advanced snowboarders but at the moment they have some good intermediate features as well. We're taking it easy in these early season conditions because the features are build fairly tight and there's also a lot of Christmas tourists cruising through the park. It would be great to hear in the comments any of the snowboard tricks you're working on. Thanks for watching!

Wow that is incredible! I just went yesterday for my 8th time and I hit jumps for the first time, surprisingly I landed them too. Biggest one I did was a medium feature.
Props to SnowboardProCamp for the tips and shoutout to Rstar for landing a jump his first time boarding.

Wait to push progression, while its cold like that. I broke my arm pushing it in the park just because it was really cold and hard pack and I should have just been practicing on smaller features. Save big progression steps for softer snow days or slush!

my home mountain is constantly hardpacked and icy all year round except for a few weeks in the spring, it really blows and I was always really scared to try new stuff there which limited my riding for many years, but recently ive been able to go out to nicer mountains and its so fun to be able to try new stuff without fear of a concussion or broken wrist from a minor fall.

Do you guys have any progression tips for people who dont get much time on the mountain each season?
Im from the UK and most people only get 1 week maybe 2 on the mountain each year but still want to progress in the park. We aren't able to wait for the low consequence days so just have to work with whatever the conditions are when we are there!
I started straight airing some bigger jumps last season and then added some grabs and shiftys - wanting to work towards 3s next!

Kev! I wanted to ask this on your last video with the jump tips, but I was wondering if you made or can do a video on arm/hand positioning when hitting jumps and doing different rail feature slides, etc. I got this weird method with my arm flying behind my head after winding up hitting 1s and 3s. Same thing with board slides, they're working but it feels foreign and like im not positioning my arms to balance in the proper locations! Great vid as always!

Getting off the lift is not difficult, but now that I am visiting other places I come some places where to get into the chair is super steep, and narrows down from the little gates to the chair. When putting the foot down to slow down makes my board turn and hit the people around me. Also, getting off the chairs in those old lifts where the chair doesn't slow down and the chair is too low to push one self. Grrrrrrr.

Sounds like you are talking about the forward lean adjustment of the high back... This is a matter of personal preference but alot of people prefer zero forward lean for park riding as it will give you a little more play in your heel edge response.
      Hope that helps champ.
