Pretty nice future projects for San Diego, but you made me laugh when you said people from all over the world are going to come there, I think that’s a little over blown, But i do acknowledge San Diego as one of America’s finest cities.. I can't believe after all this time I'm the third one to comment. No construction until 2024 what's the big hurry.? A beach is a good idea but I doubt the 500 foot tower will ever happen
I like the whole concept of the plan. I do agree that a 500ft. tower may die happen, but I am staying hopeful!
When I was a kid I used to think this was a cool authentic historic seaport village
then I got older and learned it was created to be a cliche tourist trap
So I'm looking forward to its redevelopment
I feel like the land at Seaport Village could be utilized for so much more than what it is currently! And I agree, would be nice if it was more for San Diegans than visitors!
it looks like they already destroyed what was Sea Port Village and left an open space
Hey there zap, there was an open park created a few years ago called Ruocco Park. The future of Seaport Village is super exciting in my humble opinion!
Actually you're not in seaport village you're just behind the convention center
Its already too crowded, I don't even go there on the weekends, too many people. We already have over 15,000 hotel rooms downtown, most of them empty due to the plannedemic. Already tons of restaurants and shops and the water on san diego bay is extremely polluted, after WW2 the Navy dumped thousands of tons of cancer causing chemicals on the bay, the water there is extremely polluted. Sure would be nice to have a place to bring a paddle board to the water as there is none unless you go through the private marina dock which is gated but why would you want to get in that murky filthy polluted water. The people that fish there at the south embarcadero pier are nuts, those fish are going to be extremely polluted to eat. Its already too crowded downtown but its all money money money.
I am hoping with this renovation and beach and water access that drudging the bay to clean it up is part of the massive overhaul!
