After reading Andrew book. He had a bigger role than many thought in Wham! Thank you Andrew for bringing out George for not for you, it all couldv'e a whole different out come!
George was going to be what he became with or without Andrew, the guy was writing songs at the age of 7 for heaven's sake, did you think he was going to fall into a black hole and never been heard of? He may have taken a different path - as he has said himself many times - but he chose this path and did it with his best friend because it was fun and Wham! was all about two very young guys basically having fun. He was writing all the songs after the very first record - arranging, producing and performing them all. Andrew had an unplugged guitar in the shows....So, yes, it's nice Andrew nudged him along but this myth about how we wouldn't have had George Michael if not for Andrew is just silly. (And, don't forget, Andrew wrote that book, that was not a book written by the two of them....)
i was 18 years old when this concert was. I'm a huge fan of WHAM!/GEORGE MICHAEL since 1984. I remember that i was in my classroom and the french radio spoke of this final concert!

so great at engaging with audience...george sold out many many places as a solo artist, he was huge but still, to see a sea of people there giving you love...he was great!

Ne vous méprenez pas, je suis fan de Wham et de George, j'ai tous les albums, mais je sais faire abstraction de la nostalgie pour voir que cette prestation, artistiquement parlant, est décevante. Surtout pour un ultime show du groupe.

In "Bare" George talks about wanting Andrew to do something, anything and that he used to get so frustrated because Andrew didn't do anything - well, nothing meaningful. But, George was such an ethical, loyal man and he also felt he needed the support he got from Andrew with all the chaos and insanity around them. I used to think this song was actually written a bit about George talking about Andrew (vs. a marriage) because the lyrics rather do apply to him doing all the work and the other person not "giving"....(Just a thought that crossed my mind years ago).
