Fun fact Tyrannomon is the Clefairy of Digimon. He's not only the original champion of Agumon. But the original face of Digimon. But a screw up in the original V-pet led to most people getting Greymon instead. And since Greymon was easier to get and more powerful he became the face of Digimon instead. Essentially becoming Agumon's evolution in the adventure anime.
keep in mind that Tyrannomon was original digimon mascot before greymon existed. most likely that Agumon was originally intended to be his rookie form.
True in fact the not all Digimon need to have their own unique Rookie (or Fresh or In-Training) forms most of the ones that already exist can be easily justified as being the direct predecessor of entirely different families.
Tyrannomon was the first Digimon to be designed. Agumon was made from Tyrannomon. Agumon and V-Mon were made from certain Adult phase Tyrannomon and V-dramon.

I don't see the problem with considering Agumon as Tyrannomon's true Rookie form. Besides the plates on its back they are practically the same shape just one is larger. Plenty of Digimon change colour when digivolving, in fact in the cases of Gold Numemon to Platinum Numemon or Gotsumon to Icemon and Meteormon the only visible difference is the colour change. Although if I were to pick an existing Rookie that also somewhat fits I would perhaps go with Minidekachimon as it is also red with blue eyes and even the Data attribute.
@@Justic_ Well to me it's like the distinction between V-Dramon and XV-Mon. Both are more or less direct glow ups of V-Mon but XV is said to be the "purebred" form of it which made them rarer as a result. I imagine Greymon are similarly at least very closely related to Tyrannomon. One Tyrannomon in ReArise even becomes a SkullGreymon while in Digimon World DS there's a Black Agumon who becomes a Dark Tyrannomon. Also if I might direct you towards the V-Tamer manga, an early chapter shows us a room full of Agumon training. A later chapter shows that 3 of them evolved into a Greymon, a Centarumon and a Meramon. Although it's a small sample to draw from, that's only 1 in 3 Agumons naturally turning into Greymon. So it could just be common among Agumon with partners (possibly for marketing reasons). And the attribute change isn't really a deal breaker. Just look at Patamon (Data) turning into Angemon (Vaccine). Or Betamon (Virus) to Seadramon (Data).
@@Justic_ And V-Tamer 01 Taichi's Agumon evolves to a V-dramon that would later go on to become a member of the Royal Knights after he was chosen by Homeostasis.
@@Justic_ Well it could just be that Greymons and Tyrannomons aren't as rare as V-dramons and XV-mons anyway so there's more variety among them. It doesn't have to be an equal number to the amount of V-species but just a point that they might be closely related since they bear such striking resemblence to the same Rookie. To be fair, Skullgreymon doesn't look much like a natural evolution to Greymon even though it shares the name. With its singular horn on the top of its head as opposed to the usual two at each side and one on the nose, it resembles Cyclomon more than Greymon. Also, MasterTyrannomon isn't really an evil evolution to Tyrannomon, it's more of a mentor figure to them. MetalTyrannomon might be a bit more wild but that's more like the blue MetalGreymon than the undead berserker SkullGreymon. The thing is, that BlackAgumon/Dark Tyrannomon is an NPC not an obtainable Digimon in the traditional sense (although it is technically the player character's partner) so it shouldn't necessarily be constricted by what species are part of the game's roster. If they wanted to make it a virus Greymon there wasn't a whole lot stopping them since it pretty much only appears in the overworld. All they'd have to do is palette swap a Greymon sprite. Well even if it is an accurate sample it's only 3 out of at least 32 Agumons shown in the courtyard so there's a lot of data we're not really seeing there. I think the reason there wasn't a Tyrannomon in the group has more to do with there already being a Tyrannomon character in V-Tamer (granted a fairly minor one) that they might have just not wanted to confuse the two.
@@Justic_ My problem with this line of thinking is it treats the evolution slot like a zero sum game. Just because there are more Greymon species now doesn't mean the Tyrannomon species has to be removed from the equation. What you say is basically hitting the nail on the head with that "doesn't put in as much effort as Agumon naturally does, but still more than one that would become a Suka/Numemon" but you're ignoring that Suka/Numemon is basically the ground floor when it comes to that, i.e. 0 effort whatsoever while Tyrannomon takes the spot of "more than nothing, less than a full Greymon species". I don't know if I agree on GeoGreymon being the result of being raised better/stronger. In Cyber Sleuth the requirement to become GeoGreymon from Agumon is level 15 and 50 ATK whereas to go to just Greymon takes level 16 and 55 ATK. The only other variable is Geogreymon has a minimum HP of 150 while Greymon just needs 50% CAM. While we're on the subject, Agumon to Tyrannomon in that game only requires a level of 14, HP at 140 and ATK at 40 so it's simply treated as the middle ground between them and the aforementioned Sukamon. (Or Agunimon but that requires the Human Spirit of Fire). And on a side note, usually when it's used in the narrative, GeoGreymon is the evolution for the 2006 Agumon so that's a whole other variable to take into account. My misunderstanding then if that's what you meant about MasterTyrannomon but then that argument seems self defeating since you're saying they have MasterTyrannomon to fall back on as the natural evolution for Tyrannomon which makes it all the more reasonable to assume that the Tyrannomon and Greymon species are somewhat related when there's a story-significant instance of them choosing to have it evolve into a Greymon-species Digimon. Agumon is still what they fall back on for Tyrannomon most often. More common than Elecmon at least. The first Digimon v-pet even has Tyrannomon only able to evolve from Agumon. Or look at the Pendulum Progress where each of the main partner Digimon from the first three seasons are given 6 possible Champions and evolutions are determined largely by training at morning, noon or night. Tyrannomon/Metal Tyrannomon, aside from the significance of being in the roster at all are placed in the morning category just like Agumon and the Greymons. The factor deciding between the two being care mistakes which again paints it as the form an Agumon takes when it's not quite good enough to become a Greymon. The evolution tree essentially considers Tyrannomon to Agumon as what V-dramon is to V-mon (and Airdramon to Guilmon which admittedly becomes an evolutionary dead end but still lends some legitimacy to the Megadramon/Megidramon line).
@@ChaosBloodNinja i'm gonna give my own 2 cents here, there is a misconception regarding how Digimon evolution works and many people believe that its like pokemon where A will always become B except for specific cases where depending on certain conditions you might get a choice between B and C (or more choices), the thing is that this is NOT true for Digimon, according to the Lore of the franchise (and yes it does has an overall Lore aside from the anime series) ANY Digimon can become ANY OTHER Digimon under the right circumstances, so the concept of "a set evolutionary path that all members of the same species must follow" is entirely in the wrong, in fact while there are a "main line" often pursued by members of a species this doesn't means that said "line" was the "original" nor the only one available for that species. Let me give an example: when the franchise first came out the original "main line" for Agumon was: Botamon=>Koromon=>Agumon=>Greymon=>MetalGreymon (Virus) (which was simply called MetalGreymon as it was the only one at the time), this one was changed when the anime came because the director didn't believe that the original MetalGreymon's colors were "heroic" so they created the current Vaccine attribute variant that we know today, the Lore justification for this was that those MetalGreymon that ended up with the Virus attribute where from File Island as the relative low fighting level of its denizens wasn't enough for the native Greymons to perfect their evolution giving them a weaker form (this is more clear when you realize that the reason why MetalGreymon (Virus) is blue is NOT because it came from the blue/dark Greymon but rather because its body couldn't handle the mechanization process and this caused his flesh to literally rot, yeah the Virus variant is literally a zombie), meanwhile the Vaccine variant was unlocked by the Greymon of the Folder Continent which thanks to Folder's more harsh enviroment allowed them to reach their full potential. Now why is this important? because when the new Vaccine variant was created it displaced the original Virus variant becoming the new "main line" for the Greymon species as a whole, to the point that when the Mega level was added it was the Vaccine variant that recieved the new evolution while the Virus variant only recieved its Mega form; BlitzGreymon, a few years ago during the 20th anniversary of the franchise (because yes Black WarGreymon is not MetalGreymon (Virus) intended Mega form), meaning that the "main evolutionary lines" of a given Digimon species are NOT set in stone and can change depending on the circumstances, so falling on the "A cannot become E it must always be B" mentality is not only wrong in this scenario, but also something constantly disproven by the very franchise mutltiple times (another example UlforceVeedramon wasn't Veedramon's original Mega until the Taichi from the V-Tamer Manga unlocked it, as originally AeroVeedramon could simply Digivolve to any other "random" Mega level member of the "Dramon species").
Honestly, it is a little sad that one of the first Digimon to ever been created has been forgotten over time. I am glad that the creators to some extent recognized this and gave it a Mega/Ultimate in the form of RustTyrannomon though that is a small consolation compared to other Digimon like the Greymon-line and the Garurumon-line in the sense that those two keep receiving new forms. I really hope in the future forgotten Digimon like Tyrannomon can receive more recognization.
Could Gaossmon be the rookie form for Tyranomon? In episode 47 of Digimon Adventure (2020) we see that Gaossmon and Tyranomon have a close relationship, in fact Gaossmon acts as the leader of their group. Not only that, but Nohemon says to Taichi: "That one, Tyranomon, is Gaossmon's sworn brother. Tyranomon surpassed the boss in evolution, but still listens to Gaossmon obediently." Now Nohemon doesn't directly say that Tyranomon digivolved from a Gaossmon, but it might be the case. I mean if you exclude Gaossmon's lack of arms then it looks like a T-rex and a stubby T-rex without arms becoming a bigger T-rex with long arms and claws sounds like a good fit for an adult/champion form. What do you guys think?
honestly, rookie to me is Agumon. I just like branched evolutions, if I'm honest. re-colours happen frequently in evolution all the time (Betamon -> Seadramon, Tentomon -> Kabuterimon, etc.) Tyrannomon was also an option B line, if not even intended as a main line for Agumon at day 1 with the Vpets (Tyrannomon was the mascot back then). The card game further supported this by giving us green Agumon, who's strongly implied purpose was to evolve into Tyrannomon and which can't become Greymon at all. It's also meant to be the partner of the Re-Digitize 3DS video game protagonist. Oh, about the Chuumon -> Tyrannomon evolution: it's strongly implied to have happened in Digimon: Last Evolution Kizuna. It's off screen, but it happens when random Digidestined are fighting Eosmon and after a skip to the main battle of the movie, a Digidestined's Chuumon is gone and is replaced by a Tyrannomon.
@@Justic_ I don't see why it's not enough, tbh. Digivolution was never meant to be a straight line concept and the reason people think Agumon should become a Greymon type digimon feels like it's based solely on the anime deciding Tai's Agumon becomes Greymon and Marcus' becoming GeoGreymon, when Agumon would also digivolve into other Digimon all the time. Heck a V-tamer manga Agumon became Centarumon and Agumon X in another manga became Omekamon. As I said, Agumon also becoming Tyrannomon is pretty much a day 1 thing, that has since been re-done a ton all over in Digimon media.
@@Justic_ Greymon may be uncommon however that doesn't confirm Agumon being as well or that 9/10 of them become Greymon. Sure Agumon digivolves into Greymon in the anime or elsewhere, but if you take V-tamer a bunch of Agumon digivolved into Centarumon and there was no Greymon at all. Greymon is like the 0 mistake champion for Agumon mechanic wise, Tyrannomon the regular joe. Honestly, this is a bottomless conversation to have cause digimon lore isn't uniformed and people just added what ever they felt like whenever they needed to make new addition, but I think the many instances in which Agumon would digivolve to Tyrannomon speak for itself, but obviously Agumon is not the only option.
@@robiu013 Not to play Devil's advocate since you are making a lot of points I agree with, but the V-Tamer Agumons don't all turn into Centarumon. Three of them are shown to have evolved. One is a Centarumon, one is a Meramon and the other one actually did become a Greymon.
@@Justic_ I honestly think that the reason why we see Agumon becoming Greymon or some other variant of that species is more than anything else because of familiarity: Greymon, like with Agumon, is a well known and popular Digimon, so therefore it makes the most sense for this to be the most commonly seen line for it's digivolution, seeing as Greymon is more recognizable to the average fan than Tyrannomon or some other champion level that Agumon also has the ability to become; this also explains why there are more variations on Greymon than there are for Tyrannomon. Also consider that the Agumon that do appear in the series are also in most cases meant to be the protagonists of the series, so not only would choosing a more recognizable form seem to make more sense than shaking up the status quo by having it become something else entirely due to the potential to turn off fans of the series, but it's also worth pointing out that if Tyrannomon is meant to be a weaker form that Agumon can become if not quite meeting the requirements needed to reach Greymon would further justify this decision so that the protagonist can be even stronger. The latter point also ties into why Tyrannomon is more common than Greymon, that being that it's an easier form for Agumon to become, therefore resulting in more Agumon becoming Tyrannomon than Greymon. That aside, and I also heavily disagree with the notion that it doesn't make sense for Agumon to become Tyrannomon because of color primarily is extremely flawed logic, seeing as there are several other instances in the anime that stretch it even further, such as Tentomon to Kabuterimon (aside from being insects, they are pretty distinctly different in many ways), Gotsumon to Monochromon (which makes no logical sense at all, honestly), or even Patamon to Angemon (with the 2 sharing almost nothing in common design wise, and yet the 2 are commonly associated with each other), which makes this argument extremely flawed at best and laughable at worst, all things considered. There is also a flaw with trying to argue that each Digimon needs to have a "true" line of some sort, since it explicitly flies in the face of the series never having had each Digimon be only restricted to one specific branch alone, with there having been many examples which at a casual glance don't seem to make any sense at all; to me, it feels more like trying to draw a blatant comparison to Pokemon, since these 2 series are the most popular of their genre overall, even though even at just a glance it's very clear that the 2 treat their respective evolution systems quite differently. It's because of this that Pokemon has more or less always stuck to evolutions that usually make some degree of sense, and that usually aren't too out there, with only a handful of Pokemon in the series having multiple forms they can evolve into, while no evolved Pokemon can be the result of multiple different species of Pokemon; by sharp contrast, Digimon has more or less been the complete opposite of this, with there being several different ways that they can evolve, forming more of an interconnected web than anything else with all the different possibilities that exist, and there have definitely been examples of digivolutions that at a glance don't seem like the 2 species would be interconnected at all, and not just in terms of the examples I provided. That said, and while it would generally be preferable for a digivolution to make logical sense from a design standpoint and have only one, maybe two possible outcomes (you know, like the way it's typically done in Pokemon), it's NEVER been a hard and fast rule the series has stuck to
I imagine Master Tyranomon's digivolution to be something along the lines of an ancient and wise forest king whose territory is surrounded in mist and whose body has begun to transition into that of a dragon as a manifestation of this old protector's wisdom. He rejected the Bancho title and form as he found the Bancho team's Justice to be nothing but hypocrisy, control, and the mindset of self centered children. They have the will but not the wisdom. Instead Master Tyranomon chose to continue leading and guiding his fellow Tyranomon eventually stepping down as younger members rose to fill the position becoming a wise protector that gives guidance, advice, and insight upon those that require it and ask for it. In a sense a direct contrast of Rustyranomon who focused so much on meaningless power that he became nothing more than a weapon. The only organic bit of Rustyranomon may as well be the bones. Anyway that is what I imagine Master Tyranomon's mega to be like. He rejected the Bancho title and form seeing what it truly is and instead chose to continue leading and guiding eventually becoming a consultant of sorts and a truly wizened being. The fossil pokemon from Pokemon would greatly appreciate the assistance of Master Tyranomon as they have been pushed to the most remote corners of the world by their descendants which is impressive in its own right. Tyrantrum would be a handful due to their pride and self worth but with their descendants possibly involving the likes of Aggron and Tyranitar, that pride is very well justified. I can very well see Tyrantrum clashing with the Metaltyranomon that became Rustyranomon in the ancient world and finally falling in the modern day to an Aggron. Losing to the descendants of the one whom Rustyranomon feuded with in ages long past is quite poetic. Then again knowing the pokemon world that could very well be the very same Tyrantrum resurrected from ancient times. That is also quite poetic. I can also see a rivalry between Tyranomon and Rhydon in a meta sense as they are the very first creations of their respective franchises. Tyranomon was one of the first digimon created and Rhydon is the first pokemon ever drawn. Imagine those two hanging out. That would be quite the partnership. Could you do Brachimon next Nostalgia as there is a rookie created for both the Tyranomon and Brachimon lines?

Thank you for doing this. I have been waiting for ages for this. Tyrannomon is I think sometimes a very underappreciated Digimon as well given that he was one of the first to exist when the tamagotchi's came out. I do hope to see an eventual rookie but also a mega form for MasterTyrannomon (still retaining the dinosaur theme but something like a KingTyrannomon or something like that).

Tyrannomon was allways one of if not my favourite digimon. Super happy you made this video. I was wondering if you can eventually cover the facts certin digimon that are supposed to be mindless showcasing actual Intelligence in certin media(specificaly kabuterimon and skull greymon).
I thought digimon having 'pathways' in their growth was a theme around the beginning, look after them right, train them properly and they become monsters, neglect them and they became sooks. Tyrannomon was just an Agumon who followed a slightly different but not incorrect path to Greymon.
They started as alternatives to Tamagotchi, branching evolutions was how it started. To me Agumon will always evolve to Greymon, Devimon, Tyrannomon, Meramon and Numemon if you screw up real bad, not just Greymon lol.
I have a suggestion for a Tyrannomon Rookie. It's name escapes me at this point, but if we think of Gaossmon (Rookie form for the Greymon from Xros wars), there is a digimon that seems like it is a red varient of Gaossmon. This digimon, whatever its name is, would be a pretty decent pick as a tryannomon rookie
I thought the original concept for Digimons mascot was to have the yellow Agumon digivolve into either the red Tyrannamon or the Blue Greymon and Tyrannamon was the main mascot. They eventually made Agumon the mascot and created an orange Greymon to be its intended digivolution line and Tyrannamon was left to the wayside along with blue Greymon.
Sounds likely! Probably best that they didn’t settle on the Red/Blue split though honestly, the last thing this franchise needed in the early days was more comparisons to Pokemon haha

I always thought that Agumon was the child for of various Digimon, but was more prominent to Tyrannomon, rather than Grey Mon, Tyrannamon was a Super sized Agumon with dorsalplates.
I like to think that the tyrannomon line comes from an agumon with a much more tranquil environment rather than a greymon, which would probably be an agumon brought up in a very hostile environment. In Digimon World, a much more aggressive training regimen for agumon would usually resort in a greymon, while a more laid back training regimen resulted in a tyrannomon.
Love to see that Tyrannomon is fan favourite despite not having a clear evolution line, but you know, this is one of the reasons I love big red dinosaur so much. I've fantasized so much about an hypotetical partner whose champion level was Tyrannomon and digivolving in Megadramon (this one because I fell in love with him after carrying 3/4 of digimon world PSX campaign with him). I struggled about the lack of "canon" rookie level and managed to end saying it doesn't have one, and that's ok cause many rookies can become Tyrannomon. tyrannomon can also digivolve into triceramon, also, 2 other possible mega evolutions tyrannomon can have are dinorexmon and spinomon, also, gaossmon could fit as rookie form for tyrannomon, mastertyrannomon can digivolve into dinorexmon, that fanmade tyrannomon rookie was named tyragumon, dinorexmon is a carrier of the x-antibody
Gaossmon wouldn't fit. It's kind of close, but like Agumon, it's colouration clearly leads it towards members of the Greymon family. I can't remember it's name for the life of me, but there is a digimon that, appearences wise, seems like a red variant of Gaossmon. That would probably be my pick for a Tyrannomon rookie
tyranomon was originally going to be the series mascot over greymon because they thought tyranomon would be the 'basic' evoution route, due to not needing as high requirements as greymon, however, they accidentally made greymon too easy to attain and tyranomon required active mistreatment of your digimon in comparison. The end resault was greymon becoming more popular, So yeah, i'd consider agumon to be tyranomon's rookie.
In the preproduction of Digimon, it was originally intended for Agumon to digivolve into Tyrannomon as his official champion level. This was for one reason or another scraped in favor of Greymon instead so Agumon digivolving into Tyrannomon is not farfatched especially given the natural of Digimon after all.
I think we can consider all champion forms official as long as they have started on the VPETS, that's how Digimon started. So i think we can even say that Numemon is an official champion form even if you have to screw up really bad to get it.

Elecmon is the most likely rookie/child of tyrannomon as well a many many others and this also is the answer to who garurumons true rookie/child form is in a previous video here. Elecmon os kind of like eevee in pokemon in the sense that he has a ton of evolution potential. His ears, color and stripes, fan of tail feathers show up in one way or another in the champion/adult forms as a way to tell. Those digimon include: All champion/adult level variants of leomon, tyrannomon, unimon, dolphmon, garurumon, vegiemon, kokatorimon, kuwagamon and I'm probably forgetting even more. Leomon has his ears and feathery bits. Kokatorimon and vegiemon have his big fan of tail feathers. dolphmon has his stripes and small featherish bits on his fins. Tyrannomon has his color and stripes. Unimon has his ears and feathers. Garurumon has his ears, stripes, feathery bits on his body. Kuwagamon shares his color and stripes. Elecmon basically can evolve directly into every species of digimon except machine digimon which is pretty damn cool. Basically eevee for digimon fans. Also a heres some advice for nostalgia925. Try to avoid using the digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Digimon_Wiki if possible for these videos. Its largely incomplete and has many incorrect/inaccurate information on it. Use wikimon.net/Main_Page instead. Its currently the most complete and accurate digimon wiki out there and is updated in a flash when new digimon info is available. I go there and read the digipedia entries for various digimon there every now and again for fun. Its great. I Hope thats helpful and keep up the good content. Looking forward to the next video. :)
Oh I love that fan rookie with the horn you could call it Ceratomon like a ceratosaurus which I believe is a tyrannosaur cousin or a close enough relative and well Agumon was intended to Digivolve to Tyrannomon as Tyrannomon was the original mascot so I’ll stand by Agumon being the more common rookie
Tyranomon sure is a lovely Digimon! I like the fan-made child form, his name could be Kotyramon (ko as in child in Japanese, tyra as in Tyranomon). As for the cyborg part, I guess maybe Rust Tyranomon developed some biological organs after evolution to gain an advantage of some sort? Since Digimon are made of data and can evolve into fully metallic forms from the fully biological ones, why not the other way around? In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, there is a quest where we give a Rust Tyranomon some medication made out of a Scumon's thing (whatever that is), and he goes berserk from disgust once he learns what the medicine was made of. I always thought Agumon worked because Greymon and Tyronnomon look very similar, they both have strips, based on T rexes, and both look like a grown Agumon which is rare in digivelution in genral, not to mention Agumon has always digievolved into Meramon on the Digivices which has always seemed odd but still believable.

Great video, but you left out my favourite Tyrannomon form: ExTyrannomon. Might not be your typical Tyrannomon evolution, but I'd say it's just as much of a Tyrannomon as MameTyrannomon is.
Tbh, tyrannomon is one of those beloved favorites. A staple. It's one of those designs that just stuck really well. Simple, yet fierce. He is far from my favorite, but it's disappointing to have a digimon game and not have him in it in some way
My stance is similar to some others, with Agumon being Tyrannomon's rookie form. Imagine Agumon having to adapt to different scenarios than what would be its Greymon-line and so would go down what would be off the Tyranno-line. Something from the later years of my childhood, and for the few remaining Chaotic fans, I consider Tyrannomon the Chromaxx to Greymon's Maxxor. Cousins in the family tree, but with the former developing different abilities and strengths, having dealt with a more savage environment.

In Digimon adventure 2020, their were two groups fighting over a water faucet. One was a rookie and its obvious digivolution as a leader. and the other a Gaossmon and a Tyrannomon it called its brother as a leader. I say, Gaossmon is a good candidate for its rookie

I don't get how agumon doesn't work as a tyranomon rookie. I thought every Digimon fan knew greymon was better tyranomon, and coupled with the fact that tyranomon was the original mascot of the franchise it seems obvious that was on purpose. The intent was that kids would usually get tyranomons when they raised agumons but if one took really good care of one they'd get the rare greymon. Plus digimon are supposed evolve in a web-like fashion so multiple digimon evolving into and from the same kind is just natural.
Chuumon was only made tyrannomon's rookie for I believe kizuna But digimon throughout the years have been shown to digivolve into anything in then level so Agumon, electmon or even Chuumon could digivolve into tyrannomon
The impression I get is Tyrannomon is a lot like Goku. Although he's naturally a really chill Digimon, he still has inside of his core a fighting spirit that can be drawn out once tempted. This is how we get digimon like Master Tyrannomon. While Rust Tyrannomon is one who has lost itself to that fighting spirit and never stopped fighting. Because of this, I see Greymon's anime personality being pulled almost exactly from Tyrannomon's. You'll note Greymon are listed as being aggressive, but our protagonist Greymon really isn't at all. But the ability to draw out a fighting spirit, sometimes one that is too powerful and can lead down a dark path, is integral to who our protagonist Greymon is. It's this instinctual warrior side that lays hidden beneath a fun-buddy-chill-guy exterior which I think they are trying to capture with Tyrannomon and its unknown elements. This is why Mamemon was able to make itself so fierce, and why once it applies itself Tyrannomon (and Dark Tyrannomon) can achieve such heights. My personal favorite line up is Agumon Black -> Dark Tyrannomon -> Metal Tyrannomon -> Rust Tyrannomon, because I feel like this exemplifies that fighting spirit taken to its extreme end. I am of the opinion that Tyrannomon is supposed to be a champion form option for Agumon, also. I think Agumon was made after Tyrannomon and before Greymon. I am not entirely sure what caused them ultimately to go with Greymon as being the main digimon. I think Rust Tyrannomon was definitely designed with the idea of the X Antibody in mind. But I interpret it as having developed its own, it's just so powerful, that it didn't need to have the original x antibody. The green is there to represent it, but isn't it exactly. We are looking at something that can be arrived to through normal Digimon means or through the Agumon X -> Tyrannomon X -> Metal Tyrannomon X path. I feel like it's a valid option either way.
Hi Ya. Tyrannimon is one of the Digimon does expand to other Digimon Treeline, that is why you found the information on wikipage quite odd for. Gazimon is one of the most Digi-evolution line. Tryannimon was 2nd to Gazimon to expanding Digi-evoulation treeline. Fun Fact: both Tyrannomon and Gazimon are internal code of Kimeramon plus Machinedramon so didn't they defragment: Kimeramon and Machinedragmon. That was old lore I remember, I don't know still in date mind ya.
Dinorexmon is probably mastertyrannomon's data mega. It has the same scar as mastertyrannomon, follows the same fields, and Dinorexmon also evolves from mametyramon, a digimon with tyrannomon data compressed inside it.
At the time of Tyrannomon's creation they were designing random monsters that could evolve into eachother without any real cohesion. We just gotta accept that, unless rectified, it doesn't have a dedicated rookie. But that's fine, it's at the core of digimon to branch out into different forms depending on the environments or training, so Agumon being its rookie doesn't seem wrong to me.
I also like how the tyrannomon line could be an alternate route for agumon to take. despite being a different color, he does carry the same shape as the other tyrannomon digimon. it's my head canon and I'm sticking with it lol
I think Tyrannomon not having a rookie form is fine. The reason why that is, is because Tyrannomon has the most similar data or dna structure to the rest of other digimons. This is why a lot of digimon actually can digivolve into Tyrannomon and is thus the most common digivolve route among Dinosaur mons. Also he can digivolve into other digimons as well. He is sort of the meeting point or the most common point of dino digimons, then depending on the environment, can digivolve into different varieties of digimons simply because if we think of these in a genetic setting, digimon like metalgreymon, rizegreymon carries tyrannomons DNA.
Would it not be possible for a Guilmon to lose it's destructive potential when it digivolves, because it can't stand the thought of what could happen if it DOES become corrupted, causing it to lose the Digital Hazard symbol and become Tyrannomon?

Agumon being the primary rookie form of Tyrannomon is confirmed by the latest digimon card game, because in digimon tcg 2020 Bandai like to put digivolution lines in the card game and green card Tyrannomon were added to the card pool at the same time as a green card Agumon. The green card pool have since gotten more Tyrannomon but no Greymon.
so the thing about android and cyborg is in japan they have one word for both with makes translations hard. but to differentiate android is a mechanical being becoming organic while a cyborg is an organic being becoming mechanical. metaltyranomon is the one that has the error in its bio as it should be a cyborg unless a robotic being is using its dead body which should also have it labeled as a puppet if thats the case.
Actually if 1 were to transfer their consciousness into a machine with no organic components they would still be considered an Android. If an android were to start fusing with flesh it may be considered a Cyborg, although the distinctions of Android vs Cyborg tend to be very confusing. There are series like Dragon Ball Z that better show Japan using the same term for both apparently.
@@bookmew1081 with dragon ball I believe that's more of a case where Toriyama didn't bother to change that detail when he added in 17 and 18. Dr. Gero and 19 were very much androids.
It's important to remember that Digimon are flexible. There is no one direct line for Digimon, even if there is a line that is more common. Agumon makes sense for Tyrannomon's rookie, it's colour doesn't fit agumon's but it's head looks closer to Agumon's than Greymon's. Agumon isn't ChibiGreymon, but Agumon, so Greymon isn't the only line it can go in to.
I always thought the belts on dark tyranomons arms reminded me of devimon, and I think they're are a few other digimon sharing the belts and a darkness.

Well it may depend since leviamon is massive in size with its jaws alone, through metal tyrannomon is enhanced with cybernetics, the safer bet would be leviamon due to its massive size, but it still depends on how much power metal tyrannomons enhanced metal jaws have and can put out...
Unfortunately I don't have much to say on Tyragumon (the name given to the rookie) as it is very similar to Agumon in body plan. Aside from breathing green fire instead of orange and red flames and relying a little more on headbuts and bites in combat it really is almost identical to Agumon. The biggest difference between Tyragumon and Agumon may be that Tyragumon is not a combat species digimon and has a greater grasp over its capabilities. Personality wise I see Tyragumon being quite inquisitive and curious, having a higher inclination for tinkering with basic machines than your average rookie and having greater interest in the digital world's history and natural processes than the average rookie. Sorta like a combination of a casual bookworm or scribe apprentice and an inexperienced apprentice mechanic in terms of personality. As for the origin of this digimon I can see it having the same origin of Sauropmon who is Tyragumon's counterpart or twin in this sense. Someone wanted to recreate ancient digimon and used data on Tyranomon and Brachimon to do so. The result of the experiment was Tyragumon and Sauropmon. Which is also the reason behind Tyragumon's slight inclination towards machines and inquisitive nature as well as Sauropmon's presumably carefree nature.
Perhaps a little shallow on my end, but I happen to really like RustTyrannomon. To the point where I'd probably want it as my partner. The problem then is that I'm not the biggest fan of MetalTyrannomon. It's OK, but just not giving me the vibe I want. The X antibody variant though.... THAT is sick. I don't really understand how the X antibody versions work in general. Could Tyrannomon X evolve into MetalTyrannomon X and then into RustTyrannomon?

Fun fact Tyrannomon is the Clefairy of Digimon. He's not only the original champion of Agumon. But the original face of Digimon. But a screw up in the original V-pet led to most people getting Greymon instead. And since Greymon was easier to get and more powerful he became the face of Digimon instead. Essentially becoming Agumon's evolution in the adventure anime.

True in fact the not all Digimon need to have their own unique Rookie (or Fresh or In-Training) forms most of the ones that already exist can be easily justified as being the direct predecessor of entirely different families.

Agumon and V-Mon were made from certain Adult phase Tyrannomon and V-dramon.
Tyranomon is basically a big red Agumon.

I don't see the problem with considering Agumon as Tyrannomon's true Rookie form. Besides the plates on its back they are practically the same shape just one is larger. Plenty of Digimon change colour when digivolving, in fact in the cases of Gold Numemon to Platinum Numemon or Gotsumon to Icemon and Meteormon the only visible difference is the colour change.
Although if I were to pick an existing Rookie that also somewhat fits I would perhaps go with Minidekachimon as it is also red with blue eyes and even the Data attribute.
@@Justic_ Well to me it's like the distinction between V-Dramon and XV-Mon. Both are more or less direct glow ups of V-Mon but XV is said to be the "purebred" form of it which made them rarer as a result. I imagine Greymon are similarly at least very closely related to Tyrannomon. One Tyrannomon in ReArise even becomes a SkullGreymon while in Digimon World DS there's a Black Agumon who becomes a Dark Tyrannomon.
Also if I might direct you towards the V-Tamer manga, an early chapter shows us a room full of Agumon training. A later chapter shows that 3 of them evolved into a Greymon, a Centarumon and a Meramon. Although it's a small sample to draw from, that's only 1 in 3 Agumons naturally turning into Greymon. So it could just be common among Agumon with partners (possibly for marketing reasons).
And the attribute change isn't really a deal breaker. Just look at Patamon (Data) turning into Angemon (Vaccine). Or Betamon (Virus) to Seadramon (Data).
@@Justic_ And V-Tamer 01 Taichi's Agumon evolves to a V-dramon that would later go on to become a member of the Royal Knights after he was chosen by Homeostasis.
@@Justic_ Well it could just be that Greymons and Tyrannomons aren't as rare as V-dramons and XV-mons anyway so there's more variety among them. It doesn't have to be an equal number to the amount of V-species but just a point that they might be closely related since they bear such striking resemblence to the same Rookie.
To be fair, Skullgreymon doesn't look much like a natural evolution to Greymon even though it shares the name. With its singular horn on the top of its head as opposed to the usual two at each side and one on the nose, it resembles Cyclomon more than Greymon. Also, MasterTyrannomon isn't really an evil evolution to Tyrannomon, it's more of a mentor figure to them. MetalTyrannomon might be a bit more wild but that's more like the blue MetalGreymon than the undead berserker SkullGreymon.
The thing is, that BlackAgumon/Dark Tyrannomon is an NPC not an obtainable Digimon in the traditional sense (although it is technically the player character's partner) so it shouldn't necessarily be constricted by what species are part of the game's roster. If they wanted to make it a virus Greymon there wasn't a whole lot stopping them since it pretty much only appears in the overworld. All they'd have to do is palette swap a Greymon sprite.
Well even if it is an accurate sample it's only 3 out of at least 32 Agumons shown in the courtyard so there's a lot of data we're not really seeing there. I think the reason there wasn't a Tyrannomon in the group has more to do with there already being a Tyrannomon character in V-Tamer (granted a fairly minor one) that they might have just not wanted to confuse the two.
@@Justic_ My problem with this line of thinking is it treats the evolution slot like a zero sum game. Just because there are more Greymon species now doesn't mean the Tyrannomon species has to be removed from the equation. What you say is basically hitting the nail on the head with that "doesn't put in as much effort as Agumon naturally does, but still more than one that would become a Suka/Numemon" but you're ignoring that Suka/Numemon is basically the ground floor when it comes to that, i.e. 0 effort whatsoever while Tyrannomon takes the spot of "more than nothing, less than a full Greymon species".
I don't know if I agree on GeoGreymon being the result of being raised better/stronger. In Cyber Sleuth the requirement to become GeoGreymon from Agumon is level 15 and 50 ATK whereas to go to just Greymon takes level 16 and 55 ATK. The only other variable is Geogreymon has a minimum HP of 150 while Greymon just needs 50% CAM.
While we're on the subject, Agumon to Tyrannomon in that game only requires a level of 14, HP at 140 and ATK at 40 so it's simply treated as the middle ground between them and the aforementioned Sukamon. (Or Agunimon but that requires the Human Spirit of Fire).
And on a side note, usually when it's used in the narrative, GeoGreymon is the evolution for the 2006 Agumon so that's a whole other variable to take into account.
My misunderstanding then if that's what you meant about MasterTyrannomon but then that argument seems self defeating since you're saying they have MasterTyrannomon to fall back on as the natural evolution for Tyrannomon which makes it all the more reasonable to assume that the Tyrannomon and Greymon species are somewhat related when there's a story-significant instance of them choosing to have it evolve into a Greymon-species Digimon.
Agumon is still what they fall back on for Tyrannomon most often. More common than Elecmon at least. The first Digimon v-pet even has Tyrannomon only able to evolve from Agumon.
Or look at the Pendulum Progress where each of the main partner Digimon from the first three seasons are given 6 possible Champions and evolutions are determined largely by training at morning, noon or night. Tyrannomon/Metal Tyrannomon, aside from the significance of being in the roster at all are placed in the morning category just like Agumon and the Greymons. The factor deciding between the two being care mistakes which again paints it as the form an Agumon takes when it's not quite good enough to become a Greymon. The evolution tree essentially considers Tyrannomon to Agumon as what V-dramon is to V-mon (and Airdramon to Guilmon which admittedly becomes an evolutionary dead end but still lends some legitimacy to the Megadramon/Megidramon line).
@@ChaosBloodNinja i'm gonna give my own 2 cents here, there is a misconception regarding how Digimon evolution works and many people believe that its like pokemon where A will always become B except for specific cases where depending on certain conditions you might get a choice between B and C (or more choices), the thing is that this is NOT true for Digimon, according to the Lore of the franchise (and yes it does has an overall Lore aside from the anime series) ANY Digimon can become ANY OTHER Digimon under the right circumstances, so the concept of "a set evolutionary path that all members of the same species must follow" is entirely in the wrong, in fact while there are a "main line" often pursued by members of a species this doesn't means that said "line" was the "original" nor the only one available for that species.
Let me give an example: when the franchise first came out the original "main line" for Agumon was: Botamon=>Koromon=>Agumon=>Greymon=>MetalGreymon (Virus) (which was simply called MetalGreymon as it was the only one at the time), this one was changed when the anime came because the director didn't believe that the original MetalGreymon's colors were "heroic" so they created the current Vaccine attribute variant that we know today, the Lore justification for this was that those MetalGreymon that ended up with the Virus attribute where from File Island as the relative low fighting level of its denizens wasn't enough for the native Greymons to perfect their evolution giving them a weaker form (this is more clear when you realize that the reason why MetalGreymon (Virus) is blue is NOT because it came from the blue/dark Greymon but rather because its body couldn't handle the mechanization process and this caused his flesh to literally rot, yeah the Virus variant is literally a zombie), meanwhile the Vaccine variant was unlocked by the Greymon of the Folder Continent which thanks to Folder's more harsh enviroment allowed them to reach their full potential.
Now why is this important? because when the new Vaccine variant was created it displaced the original Virus variant becoming the new "main line" for the Greymon species as a whole, to the point that when the Mega level was added it was the Vaccine variant that recieved the new evolution while the Virus variant only recieved its Mega form; BlitzGreymon, a few years ago during the 20th anniversary of the franchise (because yes Black WarGreymon is not MetalGreymon (Virus) intended Mega form), meaning that the "main evolutionary lines" of a given Digimon species are NOT set in stone and can change depending on the circumstances, so falling on the "A cannot become E it must always be B" mentality is not only wrong in this scenario, but also something constantly disproven by the very franchise mutltiple times (another example UlforceVeedramon wasn't Veedramon's original Mega until the Taichi from the V-Tamer Manga unlocked it, as originally AeroVeedramon could simply Digivolve to any other "random" Mega level member of the "Dramon species").
Honestly, it is a little sad that one of the first Digimon to ever been created has been forgotten over time. I am glad that the creators to some extent recognized this and gave it a Mega/Ultimate in the form of RustTyrannomon though that is a small consolation compared to other Digimon like the Greymon-line and the Garurumon-line in the sense that those two keep receiving new forms. I really hope in the future forgotten Digimon like Tyrannomon can receive more recognization.

In episode 47 of Digimon Adventure (2020) we see that Gaossmon and Tyranomon have a close relationship, in fact Gaossmon acts as the leader of their group. Not only that, but Nohemon says to Taichi:
"That one, Tyranomon, is Gaossmon's sworn brother. Tyranomon surpassed the boss in evolution, but still listens to Gaossmon obediently." Now Nohemon doesn't directly say that Tyranomon digivolved from a Gaossmon, but it might be the case.
I mean if you exclude Gaossmon's lack of arms then it looks like a T-rex and a stubby T-rex without arms becoming a bigger T-rex with long arms and claws sounds like a good fit for an adult/champion form. What do you guys think?
honestly, rookie to me is Agumon. I just like branched evolutions, if I'm honest. re-colours happen frequently in evolution all the time (Betamon -> Seadramon, Tentomon -> Kabuterimon, etc.) Tyrannomon was also an option B line, if not even intended as a main line for Agumon at day 1 with the Vpets (Tyrannomon was the mascot back then). The card game further supported this by giving us green Agumon, who's strongly implied purpose was to evolve into Tyrannomon and which can't become Greymon at all. It's also meant to be the partner of the Re-Digitize 3DS video game protagonist.
Oh, about the Chuumon -> Tyrannomon evolution: it's strongly implied to have happened in Digimon: Last Evolution Kizuna. It's off screen, but it happens when random Digidestined are fighting Eosmon and after a skip to the main battle of the movie, a Digidestined's Chuumon is gone and is replaced by a Tyrannomon.

Digivolution was never meant to be a straight line concept and the reason people think Agumon should become a Greymon type digimon feels like it's based solely on the anime deciding Tai's Agumon becomes Greymon and Marcus' becoming GeoGreymon, when Agumon would also digivolve into other Digimon all the time. Heck a V-tamer manga Agumon became Centarumon and Agumon X in another manga became Omekamon. As I said, Agumon also becoming Tyrannomon is pretty much a day 1 thing, that has since been re-done a ton all over in Digimon media.

Sure Agumon digivolves into Greymon in the anime or elsewhere, but if you take V-tamer a bunch of Agumon digivolved into Centarumon and there was no Greymon at all. Greymon is like the 0 mistake champion for Agumon mechanic wise, Tyrannomon the regular joe.
Honestly, this is a bottomless conversation to have cause digimon lore isn't uniformed and people just added what ever they felt like whenever they needed to make new addition, but I think the many instances in which Agumon would digivolve to Tyrannomon speak for itself, but obviously Agumon is not the only option.
@@robiu013 Not to play Devil's advocate since you are making a lot of points I agree with, but the V-Tamer Agumons don't all turn into Centarumon. Three of them are shown to have evolved. One is a Centarumon, one is a Meramon and the other one actually did become a Greymon.

@@Justic_ I honestly think that the reason why we see Agumon becoming Greymon or some other variant of that species is more than anything else because of familiarity: Greymon, like with Agumon, is a well known and popular Digimon, so therefore it makes the most sense for this to be the most commonly seen line for it's digivolution, seeing as Greymon is more recognizable to the average fan than Tyrannomon or some other champion level that Agumon also has the ability to become; this also explains why there are more variations on Greymon than there are for Tyrannomon. Also consider that the Agumon that do appear in the series are also in most cases meant to be the protagonists of the series, so not only would choosing a more recognizable form seem to make more sense than shaking up the status quo by having it become something else entirely due to the potential to turn off fans of the series, but it's also worth pointing out that if Tyrannomon is meant to be a weaker form that Agumon can become if not quite meeting the requirements needed to reach Greymon would further justify this decision so that the protagonist can be even stronger. The latter point also ties into why Tyrannomon is more common than Greymon, that being that it's an easier form for Agumon to become, therefore resulting in more Agumon becoming Tyrannomon than Greymon.
That aside, and I also heavily disagree with the notion that it doesn't make sense for Agumon to become Tyrannomon because of color primarily is extremely flawed logic, seeing as there are several other instances in the anime that stretch it even further, such as Tentomon to Kabuterimon (aside from being insects, they are pretty distinctly different in many ways), Gotsumon to Monochromon (which makes no logical sense at all, honestly), or even Patamon to Angemon (with the 2 sharing almost nothing in common design wise, and yet the 2 are commonly associated with each other), which makes this argument extremely flawed at best and laughable at worst, all things considered. There is also a flaw with trying to argue that each Digimon needs to have a "true" line of some sort, since it explicitly flies in the face of the series never having had each Digimon be only restricted to one specific branch alone, with there having been many examples which at a casual glance don't seem to make any sense at all; to me, it feels more like trying to draw a blatant comparison to Pokemon, since these 2 series are the most popular of their genre overall, even though even at just a glance it's very clear that the 2 treat their respective evolution systems quite differently. It's because of this that Pokemon has more or less always stuck to evolutions that usually make some degree of sense, and that usually aren't too out there, with only a handful of Pokemon in the series having multiple forms they can evolve into, while no evolved Pokemon can be the result of multiple different species of Pokemon; by sharp contrast, Digimon has more or less been the complete opposite of this, with there being several different ways that they can evolve, forming more of an interconnected web than anything else with all the different possibilities that exist, and there have definitely been examples of digivolutions that at a glance don't seem like the 2 species would be interconnected at all, and not just in terms of the examples I provided. That said, and while it would generally be preferable for a digivolution to make logical sense from a design standpoint and have only one, maybe two possible outcomes (you know, like the way it's typically done in Pokemon), it's NEVER been a hard and fast rule the series has stuck to
I imagine Master Tyranomon's digivolution to be something along the lines of an ancient and wise forest king whose territory is surrounded in mist and whose body has begun to transition into that of a dragon as a manifestation of this old protector's wisdom. He rejected the Bancho title and form as he found the Bancho team's Justice to be nothing but hypocrisy, control, and the mindset of self centered children. They have the will but not the wisdom. Instead Master Tyranomon chose to continue leading and guiding his fellow Tyranomon eventually stepping down as younger members rose to fill the position becoming a wise protector that gives guidance, advice, and insight upon those that require it and ask for it. In a sense a direct contrast of Rustyranomon who focused so much on meaningless power that he became nothing more than a weapon. The only organic bit of Rustyranomon may as well be the bones. Anyway that is what I imagine Master Tyranomon's mega to be like. He rejected the Bancho title and form seeing what it truly is and instead chose to continue leading and guiding eventually becoming a consultant of sorts and a truly wizened being.
The fossil pokemon from Pokemon would greatly appreciate the assistance of Master Tyranomon as they have been pushed to the most remote corners of the world by their descendants which is impressive in its own right. Tyrantrum would be a handful due to their pride and self worth but with their descendants possibly involving the likes of Aggron and Tyranitar, that pride is very well justified. I can very well see Tyrantrum clashing with the Metaltyranomon that became Rustyranomon in the ancient world and finally falling in the modern day to an Aggron. Losing to the descendants of the one whom Rustyranomon feuded with in ages long past is quite poetic. Then again knowing the pokemon world that could very well be the very same Tyrantrum resurrected from ancient times. That is also quite poetic.
I can also see a rivalry between Tyranomon and Rhydon in a meta sense as they are the very first creations of their respective franchises. Tyranomon was one of the first digimon created and Rhydon is the first pokemon ever drawn. Imagine those two hanging out. That would be quite the partnership.

Thank you for doing this. I have been waiting for ages for this. Tyrannomon is I think sometimes a very underappreciated Digimon as well given that he was one of the first to exist when the tamagotchi's came out. I do hope to see an eventual rookie but also a mega form for MasterTyrannomon (still retaining the dinosaur theme but something like a KingTyrannomon or something like that).

Tyrannomon was allways one of if not my favourite digimon. Super happy you made this video. I was wondering if you can eventually cover the facts certin digimon that are supposed to be mindless showcasing actual Intelligence in certin media(specificaly kabuterimon and skull greymon).
I thought digimon having 'pathways' in their growth was a theme around the beginning, look after them right, train them properly and they become monsters, neglect them and they became sooks.
Tyrannomon was just an Agumon who followed a slightly different but not incorrect path to Greymon.
They started as alternatives to Tamagotchi, branching evolutions was how it started. To me Agumon will always evolve to Greymon, Devimon, Tyrannomon, Meramon and Numemon if you screw up real bad, not just Greymon lol.

It's name escapes me at this point, but if we think of Gaossmon (Rookie form for the Greymon from Xros wars), there is a digimon that seems like it is a red varient of Gaossmon. This digimon, whatever its name is, would be a pretty decent pick as a tryannomon rookie

I thought the original concept for Digimons mascot was to have the yellow Agumon digivolve into either the red Tyrannamon or the Blue Greymon and Tyrannamon was the main mascot.
They eventually made Agumon the mascot and created an orange Greymon to be its intended digivolution line and Tyrannamon was left to the wayside along with blue Greymon.

I always thought that Agumon was the child for of various Digimon, but was more prominent to Tyrannomon, rather than Grey Mon, Tyrannamon was a Super sized Agumon with dorsalplates.

I like to think that the tyrannomon line comes from an agumon with a much more tranquil environment rather than a greymon, which would probably be an agumon brought up in a very hostile environment.
In Digimon World, a much more aggressive training regimen for agumon would usually resort in a greymon, while a more laid back training regimen resulted in a tyrannomon.

Love to see that Tyrannomon is fan favourite despite not having a clear evolution line, but you know, this is one of the reasons I love big red dinosaur so much. I've fantasized so much about an hypotetical partner whose champion level was Tyrannomon and digivolving in Megadramon (this one because I fell in love with him after carrying 3/4 of digimon world PSX campaign with him). I struggled about the lack of "canon" rookie level and managed to end saying it doesn't have one, and that's ok cause many rookies can become Tyrannomon. Thanks for the video, it was wonderful

Gaossmon wouldn't fit. It's kind of close, but like Agumon, it's colouration clearly leads it towards members of the Greymon family.

tyranomon was originally going to be the series mascot over greymon because they thought tyranomon would be the 'basic' evoution route, due to not needing as high requirements as greymon, however, they accidentally made greymon too easy to attain and tyranomon required active mistreatment of your digimon in comparison.
The end resault was greymon becoming more popular, So yeah, i'd consider agumon to be tyranomon's rookie.
Tyrannomon was designed as Agumon's alternate adult form. It's child for is Agumon.
I want to mention that the Tyrannomon species is also based on Godzilla which is something you can see in the original v-pets for them.

In the preproduction of Digimon, it was originally intended for Agumon to digivolve into Tyrannomon as his official champion level. This was for one reason or another scraped in favor of Greymon instead so Agumon digivolving into Tyrannomon is not farfatched especially given the natural of Digimon after all.
I think we can consider all champion forms official as long as they have started on the VPETS, that's how Digimon started. So i think we can even say that Numemon is an official champion form even if you have to screw up really bad to get it.

Elecmon is the most likely rookie/child of tyrannomon as well a many many others and this also is the answer to who garurumons true rookie/child form is in a previous video here. Elecmon os kind of like eevee in pokemon in the sense that he has a ton of evolution potential. His ears, color and stripes, fan of tail feathers show up in one way or another in the champion/adult forms as a way to tell. Those digimon include:
All champion/adult level variants of leomon, tyrannomon, unimon, dolphmon, garurumon, vegiemon, kokatorimon, kuwagamon and I'm probably forgetting even more. Leomon has his ears and feathery bits. Kokatorimon and vegiemon have his big fan of tail feathers. dolphmon has his stripes and small featherish bits on his fins. Tyrannomon has his color and stripes. Unimon has his ears and feathers. Garurumon has his ears, stripes, feathery bits on his body. Kuwagamon shares his color and stripes.
Elecmon basically can evolve directly into every species of digimon except machine digimon which is pretty damn cool. Basically eevee for digimon fans.
Also a heres some advice for nostalgia925. Try to avoid using the digimon.fandom.com/wiki/Digimon_Wiki if possible for these videos. Its largely incomplete and has many incorrect/inaccurate information on it. Use wikimon.net/Main_Page instead. Its currently the most complete and accurate digimon wiki out there and is updated in a flash when new digimon info is available. I go there and read the digipedia entries for various digimon there every now and again for fun. Its great. I Hope thats helpful and keep up the good content. Looking forward to the next video. :)

Tyranomon sure is a lovely Digimon! I like the fan-made child form, his name could be Kotyramon (ko as in child in Japanese, tyra as in Tyranomon). As for the cyborg part, I guess maybe Rust Tyranomon developed some biological organs after evolution to gain an advantage of some sort? Since Digimon are made of data and can evolve into fully metallic forms from the fully biological ones, why not the other way around? In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, there is a quest where we give a Rust Tyranomon some medication made out of a Scumon's thing (whatever that is), and he goes berserk from disgust once he learns what the medicine was made of. This could mean that he has some bological matter left in his brain, allowing him to feel emotions such as disgust, since a full-on android probably wouldn't care about such things. Or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. Anyway, I really liked the video! My only question is, what do you think about Ex-Tyranomon? Sure, he's not actually a Tyranomon variant, just a Digimon inside a Tyranomon-shaped plush toy, but he is an interesting fella in his own right!

I always thought Agumon worked because Greymon and Tyronnomon look very similar, they both have strips, based on T rexes, and both look like a grown Agumon which is rare in digivelution in genral, not to mention Agumon has always digievolved into Meramon on the Digivices which has always seemed odd but still believable.

Tbh, tyrannomon is one of those beloved favorites. A staple. It's one of those designs that just stuck really well. Simple, yet fierce. He is far from my favorite, but it's disappointing to have a digimon game and not have him in it in some way
I think the fan-made rookie could be called Tyramon, kinda alluding to its champion form.
My stance is similar to some others, with Agumon being Tyrannomon's rookie form. Imagine Agumon having to adapt to different scenarios than what would be its Greymon-line and so would go down what would be off the Tyranno-line.
Something from the later years of my childhood, and for the few remaining Chaotic fans, I consider Tyrannomon the Chromaxx to Greymon's Maxxor. Cousins in the family tree, but with the former developing different abilities and strengths, having dealt with a more savage environment.

But my favorite line is fanbeemon to Stingmon to Jewelbeemon to TigerVespamon or just to he crazy BloomLordmon as an alternate mega. Though I don't mind waspmon and cannonbeemon.

I don't get how agumon doesn't work as a tyranomon rookie. I thought every Digimon fan knew greymon was better tyranomon, and coupled with the fact that tyranomon was the original mascot of the franchise it seems obvious that was on purpose. The intent was that kids would usually get tyranomons when they raised agumons but if one took really good care of one they'd get the rare greymon. Plus digimon are supposed evolve in a web-like fashion so multiple digimon evolving into and from the same kind is just natural.
Chuumon was only made tyrannomon's rookie for I believe kizuna
But digimon throughout the years have been shown to digivolve into anything in then level so Agumon, electmon or even Chuumon could digivolve into tyrannomon

The impression I get is Tyrannomon is a lot like Goku. Although he's naturally a really chill Digimon, he still has inside of his core a fighting spirit that can be drawn out once tempted. This is how we get digimon like Master Tyrannomon. While Rust Tyrannomon is one who has lost itself to that fighting spirit and never stopped fighting. Because of this, I see Greymon's anime personality being pulled almost exactly from Tyrannomon's. You'll note Greymon are listed as being aggressive, but our protagonist Greymon really isn't at all. But the ability to draw out a fighting spirit, sometimes one that is too powerful and can lead down a dark path, is integral to who our protagonist Greymon is. It's this instinctual warrior side that lays hidden beneath a fun-buddy-chill-guy exterior which I think they are trying to capture with Tyrannomon and its unknown elements. This is why Mamemon was able to make itself so fierce, and why once it applies itself Tyrannomon (and Dark Tyrannomon) can achieve such heights.
My personal favorite line up is Agumon Black -> Dark Tyrannomon -> Metal Tyrannomon -> Rust Tyrannomon, because I feel like this exemplifies that fighting spirit taken to its extreme end.
I am of the opinion that Tyrannomon is supposed to be a champion form option for Agumon, also. I think Agumon was made after Tyrannomon and before Greymon. I am not entirely sure what caused them ultimately to go with Greymon as being the main digimon.
I think Rust Tyrannomon was definitely designed with the idea of the X Antibody in mind. But I interpret it as having developed its own, it's just so powerful, that it didn't need to have the original x antibody. The green is there to represent it, but isn't it exactly. We are looking at something that can be arrived to through normal Digimon means or through the Agumon X -> Tyrannomon X -> Metal Tyrannomon X path. I feel like it's a valid option either way.
Hi Ya. Tyrannimon is one of the Digimon does expand to other Digimon Treeline, that is why you found the information on wikipage quite odd for. Gazimon is one of the most Digi-evolution line. Tryannimon was 2nd to Gazimon to expanding Digi-evoulation treeline. Fun Fact: both Tyrannomon and Gazimon are internal code of Kimeramon plus Machinedramon so didn't they defragment: Kimeramon and Machinedragmon. That was old lore I remember, I don't know still in date mind ya.

Dinorexmon is probably mastertyrannomon's data mega. It has the same scar as mastertyrannomon, follows the same fields, and Dinorexmon also evolves from mametyramon, a digimon with tyrannomon data compressed inside it.
At the time of Tyrannomon's creation they were designing random monsters that could evolve into eachother without any real cohesion. We just gotta accept that, unless rectified, it doesn't have a dedicated rookie. But that's fine, it's at the core of digimon to branch out into different forms depending on the environments or training, so Agumon being its rookie doesn't seem wrong to me.
I also like how the tyrannomon line could be an alternate route for agumon to take. despite being a different color, he does carry the same shape as the other tyrannomon digimon. it's my head canon and I'm sticking with it lol
I think Tyrannomon not having a rookie form is fine. The reason why that is, is because Tyrannomon has the most similar data or dna structure to the rest of other digimons. This is why a lot of digimon actually can digivolve into Tyrannomon and is thus the most common digivolve route among Dinosaur mons. Also he can digivolve into other digimons as well. He is sort of the meeting point or the most common point of dino digimons, then depending on the environment, can digivolve into different varieties of digimons simply because if we think of these in a genetic setting, digimon like metalgreymon, rizegreymon carries tyrannomons DNA.
Would it not be possible for a Guilmon to lose it's destructive potential when it digivolves, because it can't stand the thought of what could happen if it DOES become corrupted, causing it to lose the Digital Hazard symbol and become Tyrannomon?

Agumon being the primary rookie form of Tyrannomon is confirmed by the latest digimon card game, because in digimon tcg 2020 Bandai like to put digivolution lines in the card game and green card Tyrannomon were added to the card pool at the same time as a green card Agumon. The green card pool have since gotten more Tyrannomon but no Greymon.
so the thing about android and cyborg is in japan they have one word for both with makes translations hard. but to differentiate android is a mechanical being becoming organic while a cyborg is an organic being becoming mechanical. metaltyranomon is the one that has the error in its bio as it should be a cyborg unless a robotic being is using its dead body which should also have it labeled as a puppet if thats the case.

Actually if 1 were to transfer their consciousness into a machine with no organic components they would still be considered an Android. If an android were to start fusing with flesh it may be considered a Cyborg, although the distinctions of Android vs Cyborg tend to be very confusing. There are series like Dragon Ball Z that better show Japan using the same term for both apparently.
@@bookmew1081 with dragon ball I believe that's more of a case where Toriyama didn't bother to change that detail when he added in 17 and 18. Dr. Gero and 19 were very much androids.

It's important to remember that Digimon are flexible. There is no one direct line for Digimon, even if there is a line that is more common. Agumon makes sense for Tyrannomon's rookie, it's colour doesn't fit agumon's but it's head looks closer to Agumon's than Greymon's. Agumon isn't ChibiGreymon, but Agumon, so Greymon isn't the only line it can go in to.
Another Tyrannomon variant you could have mentioned is ExTyrannomon which is a digimon in Tyrannomon plush toy.
Agumon was the proper evolution for tyranomon as a data alternative to greymon, betamon as well and thats why tyranomon has the stripes on its body.
For the fanmade child Tyrannomon, I would call him PicoTyrannomon or Makkagumon.

I always thought the belts on dark tyranomons arms reminded me of devimon, and I think they're are a few other digimon sharing the belts and a darkness.
Devidramon was the one who looks identical to devimon, but dark tyranomon shares the belts with the other 2. I love your videos man been a digifan for a long time and was ecstatic to find the work you do.

Ah, RustTyranomon will always be my partner digimon....when I was playing Digimon Story Cyber sleuth and it’s sequel, I’d rush to get this mon as soon as possible.
I love the design, I love the background and I love the fact that if I had one, I’d just blast the living sh*@ out of WarGreymon for the hell of it. I mean seriously, how many more forms does the greymon/garurumon line need??

Well it may depend since leviamon is massive in size with its jaws alone, through metal tyrannomon is enhanced with cybernetics, the safer bet would be leviamon due to its massive size, but it still depends on how much power metal tyrannomons enhanced metal jaws have and can put out...
Unfortunately I don't have much to say on Tyragumon (the name given to the rookie) as it is very similar to Agumon in body plan. Aside from breathing green fire instead of orange and red flames and relying a little more on headbuts and bites in combat it really is almost identical to Agumon. The biggest difference between Tyragumon and Agumon may be that Tyragumon is not a combat species digimon and has a greater grasp over its capabilities.
Personality wise I see Tyragumon being quite inquisitive and curious, having a higher inclination for tinkering with basic machines than your average rookie and having greater interest in the digital world's history and natural processes than the average rookie. Sorta like a combination of a casual bookworm or scribe apprentice and an inexperienced apprentice mechanic in terms of personality.
As for the origin of this digimon I can see it having the same origin of Sauropmon who is Tyragumon's counterpart or twin in this sense. Someone wanted to recreate ancient digimon and used data on Tyranomon and Brachimon to do so. The result of the experiment was Tyragumon and Sauropmon. Which is also the reason behind Tyragumon's slight inclination towards machines and inquisitive nature as well as Sauropmon's presumably carefree nature.
Perhaps a little shallow on my end, but I happen to really like RustTyrannomon. To the point where I'd probably want it as my partner.
The problem then is that I'm not the biggest fan of MetalTyrannomon. It's OK, but just not giving me the vibe I want. The X antibody variant though.... THAT is sick.
I don't really understand how the X antibody versions work in general. Could Tyrannomon X evolve into MetalTyrannomon X and then into RustTyrannomon?
Nice video I liked it a lot but I would still like that you at least mentioned Extyrannomon It might not be connected with Tyrannomon specie (or has but they are unknown) bit I think it deserves a little bit of screen time.

Agumon evolves into Tyrannomon on the V-Pets so I like that line but I also see it evplving from ToyAgumon.
