Thank you for this video. I have an old round seat 110 and the trans is in need of new bearings. I never would have had the courage to try and rebuild it but with this video I can do it. Many thanks!
Thank you for the video. I have a 2300 trans out of a Wards and it was good to know that Deere still carries parts for these transaxles. Well I hope the two have interchangeable parts. At least brgs. Mine is making a hell of a racket but I'm afraid that there may be shaft damage where the brgs ride. Won't know till I get it apart.
Have you had an issue where the transmission shifts loose? I’m scared it’s worn out. Found the oil was milky, changed it out, & I’m worried I’ll have to rip the transmission out to change the detent springs.
I have a 1980 mower with this 2300 trans . I 'm wondering if I buy bearings from JD for a 110 would these bearings be the same ? I realize this is a hard question to answer but maybe you know.
Im stuck at putting the cover back on, stops a 1/4inch from seating, got any sugestions? it seems like you got it by force, i heard it pop in, kinda scared to do that.
I fought this for two evenings after work. I’m not saying it’s right, but I took a Dremmel tool with a sanding bit to the bore where the shifter rods set in. Mine were a bit corroded so the rods barely fit, I had to tap in with a hammer. After I cleaned them up with the dremmel tool it went together fairly easily. If someone is fighting it, it might be worth a try.
i relooked at the instructions and heres what it says word by word step 9 install the reverse idler shaft, spacer and gear into the cover. the beveled side of the gear should be down into the cover....... i may have the gear upside down but the spacer def goes on the top but ill def double check it once we get the whole thing assembled
@@uglyhp8225 I just followed this video to reassemble and have the axle back in, filled with fluid etc..... damn if the reverse does not work. Looked back at a video I took while tearing it down, and sure enough... the spacer is on the bottom! That's a good 6-hours to tear it down and rebuild it again. What sucks is that it's in the 90's today and humid while I am doing this!
Right. Had it right the first time. The instructions and the diagram are correct. The gear will go toward the case half that has the shifter hole. So the spacer goes on the bottom when assembling.
interesting yea i took allen bolts off the ones im putting back are the exact size i removed but i will say if using a regular hex head bolt there wouldnt be clearance between the case and head for a socket or wrench

Did you ever finish the restore? Cool project.
Great work and thanks for the video. What do you fill the case with, gear oil or something else?
havent got that far yet still looking for seals for the front wheels that work
I read someplace they use 90 weight gear oil.

Ok I got it, it was the shifting rods not lining up, used a flat head to push em around like you did with finger, fell right into place
i had the same exact issue when i was trying to mock up the assembly

Your reverse gear is wrong. Should be spacer then gear with the bevel facing down.
