  • To install these headlights it took me well over 2 weeks as there is an adapter you need (which I should have read the instructions and I would have known) I say in the video I didn't see any good videos on how to install these adapters.....I just want to be clear that doesn't mean there isn't another better video than this. If so I just didn't see it and I had to figure this out myself. So if you made a video or have seen a better video Im not doubting it. I just didn't see it at the time of this video

First vid I’ve watched in many that actually helped, without trying to flog their own brand of some special fix it crap.
Appreciate the time taken to put this up.
    Cheers from Oz mate👍

I installed some Hikari’s on my 2014 Kia SX just before the new year.
I ordered the H7 adapters as well and they didn’t work. I had to modify the adapter by sanding the plastic arms that lock onto the lighting port just so that the led light would stay in place. But even then that didn’t work, I had to force it/jimmy it in just to keep them in place but I would like it to lock into place the same way a halogen would.
Thinking about trying another vendor and maybe also trying the metal adapters instead of the plastic ones and see how those work out.
I’m looking to upgrade the Hikari LED’s to the Hikari Ultra or maybe the new 2021 Hikari Acme-X. Just because these older generation Hikari’s don’t put out. The projectors on this generation Sorento also aren’t great(Theres forums on this.)
If not I read great things about Lumibright XT1 Gen2, GTR Ultra’s, and the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0
I also tried the BeamTech 881 Foglights and they actually appear to be brighter than the Hikari’s low beams.
LOL @ you forgetting the fog lights were on.

I have a 2015 Kia Sorento SX I bought 2 different sets it led lights and I can’t get them to work!? I will turn them on they will stay on for a little bit then turn off. Also, on low beam on 1 will stay on and the other won’t? I tried reversing them (polarity) and still not working!?
How is it working for other Sorento and not mine? Do I need to buy something else to make them work? Did you ever find out how to fix it?

Not sure on your tech skill level so I’ll do my best.
First off, have you checked to see if your model is LED compatible? Some are & some aren’t. Different opinions packs & even a first half or last half year of your cars bold may make a difference.
You can bypass using the factory wiring as main power by setting up an independent H/L beam head light relay. This isolates the head light power supply while tricking the car sensors into thinking it’s still running std headlight globes. This can overcomes many problems, & it’ll also improve the light output on a std Halogen setup & the upgraded Halogen love the extra power as well.
It’s not a difficult job, but depending on your skill level? It may be a job for an auto electrician.
If it’s a jod you can tackle yourself? Ask around to find the best one for your application, there’s a few to choose from.
Again, do as much research as you can on your car itself. This may answer a lot of your questions & if it does nothing else bar eliminate any possible inhibitions, you’re that much closer to finding a solution.
Best of luck with it mate.
P.s. LED companies have & are popping out of the wood work in their droves. The more reputable ones are coming up with solutions to fitment problems for difficult models as well.
There’s plenty of vids on here that can really inform you & help you make good choices regarding your h/l upgrade.
Just do yourselves a favour & stay away from the cheap junk. Like with Halogen globes, you get what you pay for. It’s no point upgrading unless you actually achieve what your aiming for.

Thank you for taking the time to relay all that info to me. I’m really good at working on cars and I did find a solution not the best solution but it works. I ran standard wires and hooked it up directly to the battery and added a on/off button. Like I said it works but it’s not the best solution until I find more time to seriously look through service manuals it will suffice.
      Again thank you!!

just installed a set of GTR ultra 2's in my 2015, its the weakest representation of a high end LED I have ever witnessed these factory projectors are worse than a 5x7 from a 1992 ford truck. If your trying to really solve the issue with lighting on these SUV's i'd seriously consider a Retrofit source projector swap.
