Yes sir! I just found that I have better control with it rather than using a flap disc. I also made my own tire surfacing machine which is variable speed. I stumbled upon your channel like a week ago and Iwill be subscribing to your channel. Seems like some great content man keep it up man!
Depends who u talk too. Some elite type teams only use new tires in state series. Your Saturday night racer absolutely keeps using the same tires. I have Burris from 2016 for instance. As long as the tire is still good with decent tread and edge you can run it.
You don’t have too, But I’m not sure what if anything it would do to the clutch. Probably a good idea to take it off but I’ve done it with my chain still on.
Thank you from the South. Knoxville TN.
Anytime 👍
I usually do it with just a 36 grit flat sanding disc. I found it to work better than a flap disc
Nice. Yeh everyone has their own way. 👍

How many times can the tire be reused? I thought if a used set sits over winter, it is done and can't be reused/

Only thing I would add is use a liquid to keep the rubber cool while surfacing the tires.
I do that on my tire machine. Never tried it with the lap disc.
When you do this do you remove the drive chain?

Don't you need to spray it with Windex or something to keep it cool.
Like your videos. Really liked the one about your the line you run.
You can if you like. I didn’t until recently, but u do run the risk of overheating and melting if you don’t.
Yeah, so u could do it that why but if u use water or windex it would keep temps down right ??🤷
Yes. I do that with my surfacer. Never tried with the lap disc but seems like a good idea.
@@kart6t3_ben i dont have a surfacer just a angle grinder, and just had 24 tires given to me, is why i ask. Thanks 🤘
@@DLRacing perfect. Yes I’d try that, your goin to get some splatter from the liquid but it’ll make for a nice surface.
