    ABOUT:
    Hi! I’m Valeria and I’m an expat in Italy. I’ve moved here (almost) on a whim when my plans in Paris got ruined - without speaking the language and totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! Moving to Italy has definitely had its ups and downs, but I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. Here I post regular travel vlogs, tips on expat life, moving to Italy, personal growth and self-esteem as an expat woman living abroad.

    Hi, Would you recommend choosing Padua or Bologna for 6 months university exchange? I know it depends on what you personally want out of it, but what is your opinion?

    • @DramaticallyExpatic
      @DramaticallyExpatic  2 роки тому +4

      Honestly, both are great haha But if I had to choose, I'd probably say Bologna - just because I know a lot of people who did their exchange in Bologna and it was really fun!

    Hello, thank you for the video and the information. The city is beautiful.
    Do you have any videos on the cost of living in Padua? I’m considering to apply for a Laurea Magistrale in Italy, and so far it’s a tie between Padua and Bologna. Both are lovely cities and the universities are great, however as I’m brazilian and 1 euro equals 6 reais (brazilian currency), the cost of living is a very important factor on my choice. Is living in Padua affordable? Could you perhaps compare it to other cities? Please and thanks. Xx

      Hi, thank you for your comment!
      I haven't done any videos on the cost of living in Padua yet (although I plan on doing it in the next months!), but I have one about Bologna here: ua-cam.com/video/yOWZLuCmFJM/v-deo.html
      I can totally get your reasoning. From what I know, Padua is somewhat more affordable than Bologna (Bologna has been recently ranked as the third most expensive city in Italy), so when it comes to rent for example, I'm positive you'll find it to be lower in Padua. In Bologna the median rent for a single room is about 350 euros/month, and finding a place is quite difficult - but definitely not impossible, so this shouldn't be something to influence your decision. As you rightly noticed, both cities are lovely, there are lots of students (international students as well), and both universities are among the best in Italy. Consider that living in a smaller city will almost always be cheaper in Italy.
      If you're looking for other alternatives, I'd say the University of Ferrara is also great, I have a tour around it (and I talk a bit about costs there as well) here: ua-cam.com/video/XQhzFHQLRBc/v-deo.html
      I will for sure make a detailed video on cost of living in Padua, as well as the one about the university! Best of lucks ❤️

    Hi, thank you for your video and all the information! In your opinion, what’s the best city for a university student? Padova or Bologna? I’m thinking about applying for a Laurea Magistrale in Italy and I’d really appreciate your comments. Thank you in advance!

      As I know they are both excellent options! Bologna has the oldest university in the world and the city is beautiful, not too big but at the same time full of art! And don't let me talk about the food😝 but Padova is nice as well, perfect for university life. Bologna is way more connected with high speed trains to other parts of Italy tho😉

      I totally agree - it's very difficult to choose between the two, because both universities are great and both cities have so much to offer! Maybe check out the programs and see which one suits you better - otherwise, I'd say both options are equally good (although, personally, I might be a little biased and give some extra points to Bologna haha)

      S. Antonio nacque a Lisbona e morì a Padova,e il suo corpo venne portato fino al Santuario di San Antonino all 'Arcella, un quartiere di Padova.
      Ogni anno,il 13 Giugno c è la Processione da Camposampiero (un Paese in provincia di Padova ), fino al Santuario appunto. .
      Credo siano circa 15 km. a piedi. .

      Bologna is more central, but both Padua and Bologna are great cities with really good universities and convenient transport options to go anywhere in Italy! It also depends which area are you more interested in: being in Padua it'll be more convenient for you to explore Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions, while Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Umbria are more convenient to visit from Bologna :) Good luck with studying!
