This New Megane RS caught me by surprise! Started the video, swiftly managed to prepare and drink my morning coffee, while reviewing the daily schedule, and there it was...already at 249km/h in no time! Nearly missed it.

Up to 240km/h is fast but last 15km/h up to 255 km/h is sluggish, but overall it's nice acceleration and top speed for 1.8 engine and 1500kg car.

I precise that, even the 1.8 tce is a bit slow from the 5th gear, the megane speedometer displays the "true" (2kmh of precision) Speed unlike all VAG sport hatch (more the speed grows up, more the speed indicator exagerates the speed.... for the security but also maybe to show how "fast" their cars can go) 😌

Everytime the system shifts gears, sounds like the gearwheels were not lubricated correctly. Good thing the car's available with a manual gearbox.

Those cars were fun, not the fasters ever for sure, but actually cool to drive
given the fact that the car is made to handle very nicely in corners its not that surprising that it's not going that fast
Louis Ledoux Being fast in corners does not prohibit to be fast also in straight. With turbo cars it is lnly a matter of power. Civic Type R is also fast in corners, but seems significantly faster than this Renault in straight. LEON cupra 300 too.
I find it slower than the claimed 280 bhp figure. I have a Scirocco 2.0TSI 200 with Stage 2 tune to 274 bhp, and it is ¡3 seconds! faster in a 60-180 km/h, compared to what I see in this video (I chronoed 60-180 because is the time I once chronoed in my car)

My oncles 2012 E350 with 265hp 4 Matic full options can hit 260 and a bit more maybe downhill, megane rs is perfect but it need about 50-60 more hp

It took my Megane GT 10000km to get it into shape and only the last 3000 km on autobahn 'abusement' truly gave it a punch it has right now.
