In some Pokémon games you’re able to make hideouts in trees and rocks and what not. In black and white 2 the Pokémon have the ability to do this instead, so lets raid their homes and kidnap them lol
One other thing to mention with Skill Link Minccino: if you run a gem that boosts the damage of one of its multi hit attacks, then all 5 hits get that boost. This is so comically strong that it's one of the big reasons why gems were banned in gen 5 singles
@@leargamma4912 this ban is specifically about the competitive scene (against other humans), "gen 5 singles" means regular battles (as opposed to double or triple battles) in gen 5
Fun Fact since Chugga mentioned Dive: You can hit a Pokemon who's underwater by using the move surf and it will do double damage to them. It's like how earthquake does double damage on Pokemon using dig or how hurricane does double damage on those using fly.
@@morgancrabtree6248 I know Gust, Twister, Sky Uppercut, Hurricane, Smack Down, and Thousand Arrows does double damage to foes using Fly or Bounce, Thousand Arrows and Smack Down also outright cancel Fly and Bounce, planting the Pokemon back on the ground. Slight correction, you CAN get a heracross in white 2 from the lostlorn forest hidden grotto. It's just a .25% chance. Same applies to Pinsir in black 2. I personally used a Moxie Heracross in my white 2 challenge mode playthrough since it spawned in the lostlorn forest grotto.
@@chuggaI learned so many new things about BW2 thanks to your research. I just happen to remember that I caught a Pinsir in Black2 and looked it up again to be sure. Hope it didn't come off as rude.
Hearing you gush over my favourite pokemon line brought joy to me. it was amazing to hear. Skill Link Minccino/Cinccino is so beastly good. I do understand the reasons you're not using it, as yeah animations can take a long time with that ability. But it is just fun to use. And you know, you DID get the King's Rock as food for thought

Pignati, Entry Log 23: We’ve explored as much as we possibly can and now all there’s left is the area where the gym is and the gym itself. Unless something extra happens that’ll get us sidetracked. We’re heading to the gym tomorrow. McFly and Jade are the candidates for this one knowing it’ll be electric focused. With me acting as backup given that I’m neutral in almost every way. Aiden is still getting use to his new body and is now greatly weak to Electric Type attacks which is something we’ll want to avoid. Nothing else to really add personally. McFly, Entry log 18: Being so close to evolution yet not quite getting there is a shockingly annoying itch. Like I have built up energy yet I don’t know how to use it and that it doesn’t benefit me in any way. However, I do feel like I don’t have any real complaints. In a strange way the annoying itch actually feels kind of nice. Perhaps instead of annoying it's more, anxious anticipation. Knowing that around the corner I’ll experience a truly rewarding sensation if I simply be patient about it. I’ve asked Pignati and Aiden about evolution and they describe it as being washed in a pleasantly warm blanket of energy before then being released into equally pleasant feeling sunlight. A surge of energy that makes you feel stronger in every way. Ooooh, I’m excited! Aiden, Entry Log 13: For once I’m actually feeling good about not being considered for the next big fight. I feel so vulnerable in my new form. My normal types moves aren’t as strong anymore and I have no water type moves. I didn’t enjoy being hit by fighting type move like any normal type but I never felt threatened by them. Now I find my instincts telling me to avoid anything electrical and be wary of pointy plants. I even feel it when near McFly or a grass type. I’m more than able to suppress these instincts as I’m a fighter who’d rather face dangerous things head on than to coward. But it’s certainly something to get use to especially since I have to fight the urge to flinch every time I get near McFly. Which just feels wrong since we’re friends and all. I’ve noticed that both Pignati and Jade are going through the same problems with me. They’re good at hiding it but since I am the same, I’ve picked up on the subtle signs. As teammates of course we will push through this. Jade, Entry Log 6: The air is so thick with anticipation I could take a bite out of it. It’s affectious annoyingly enough, I can’t help but feel the energy go through me, making me feel some excitement too. I’ll be taking part in a gym battle soon my levels having caught up with the rest. I am slow but also quite powerful and I don’t mind roughing folks up in the slightest. This will be my first real chance to show what I am made of in a big event. I’ll show these f*Trapinchcry*rs not to mess with me! And my… acquaintances… are we more than that? Maybe I should ask them… but to ask is to be vulnerable and I hate looking weak… mmmmm… *In the Pokécenter* Everyone was nice and rested as Blaise fed them dinner. The group was altogether more or less with Aiden and Jade giving their own spaces that were still close but far enough to give them their eating space. Once eating was done however Blaise asked for the main four to gather up and although hesitant at first Jade soon sighed and followed the request. Once they were all in front of their trainer she began to go on a speech. One about how if everything went as they have planned, they will be going to the gym tomorrow. She does admit that knowing herself something could come up and distract her but if nothing does it’ll be Gym Battle time against a fashion star known as Elesa. After stating as such she went on to explain the general game plan but admits that she may or may not stick with it depending on how she feels. But to expect it to go as planned regardless. It was a back and forth of promises and admissions that was to be expected of their trainer which was fine since they had gotten use to her oddball behavior at this point. Afterwards she tells us to spend the rest of our time having fun as she went off to buy us some sweets for working so hard everyday. As she went off to do that everyone began chatting. “Fourth Gym!” McFly declares, “We’ll be halfway there gentlemen, and lady. With my evolution around the corner and Jade’s ground typing this fight is already in the bag!” he then says confidently. “Goodluck. I can tank energy blasts pretty well but I don’t think I’ll be useful.” Aiden replies with a small smile. “Indeed. But we all have moments of being useless.” Jade replies bluntly, “if this were a water type gym instead, I’d be deadweight.” She then adds. “An unnecessary way to look at it but understandable.” Pignati admits, “Jade and McFly will be the most useful in there and so me and Aiden will do our best to cheer you both on.” He then says with supportive energy. “Hah hah! Look forward to working with you Jade! Let’s kick some serious rear ends!” He then says offering Jade a hand. Jade looks at it and nods before gently biting it for a shake. “Better be ready to clean me after the right. I’m going in dirty.” She declares with steadfast determination. “I don’t know the meaning of mercy.” “I bet. I look forward to seeing how you are in a battle when you’re allowed to cut loose.” Aiden admits as he wags his tail a little. “Oh, I’ll let loose alright.” Jade growls back raring to go. Pignati chuckles, “Good to see the enthusiasm.” He noted happily. “Indeed! Too think you wanted nothing to do with us just a short while ago.” McFly noted with a smirk. Jade huffs with a crunchy “Harrumph!” before adding, “Yeah well things changed. Apparently, you three are far more tolerable than I thought you’d be. So, shove it.” She warns McFly making him chuckle. Jade then sighs… “I’ve learned to appreciate your collective company as well so… that helps.” She then admits with a bit of a mumble as she looks off to the side The three stare at her a little surprised by her admitting the fact she might actually like them. Causing the three to smile and nod, “We like you too, Jade” Aiden then adds making Jade look embarrassed as she turns around swiftly. “Sh-Shut it! Don’t go getting the wrong idea! I’ve simply learned to tolerate you all *CRUNCH*” she then shouts before crawling away in a huff. “She likes us.~” McFly then says to the other two with satisfaction. “She really likes us, that’s a win I think.~” He then adds proudly. “Don’t get to big a head about it.” Pignati then teases. “To late I think, his whole body is a head.” Aiden adds. “*Loud Mock GASP* I think you’re right! I’m an ego head!” McFly yells in exaggerated shock. “NOOOO!” he then yells dramatically, right before the three began to burst out laughing at their own silliness. All while Jade looks back with a sad look in her eyes feeling the desire to take part in the fun but now felt too awkward to go back. “Dammit… Next time I’ll ask them. Yeah… I better…” She then says to herself sounding determined this time. McFly 2’00”, Jade 2’04”, Pignati & Aiden 3’03”. Jade 33.1 lbs. McFly 51.8 lbs. Aiden 63.9 lbs. Pignati 122.4 lbs.
Fun story about my experience with the original BW games. I was playing the original White when it came out. And I kept losing to Elesa and her team. Mostly Emolga. So, I looked up where to find Emolga myself, just outside Nimbasa as it turned out. SO I went and caught one. I then used it against her, and it DESTROYED her team. As in it swept. I was actually impressed by how well it did and decided to keep it on my team, and that was one of the best choices I made in the entire history of the series. It somehow managed to somehow be my MVP (Most Valuable Pokemon). As I said I used it for the rest of the game, including against Ghetsis….I actually ended up with Emolga being the one to defeat HALF of his team….including Hydreigon! I later checked my Emoga’s IVs…she may or may not have had near-perfect stats! She only was a bit short in Sp. Defense. Everything else had ‘Best’ IVs possible. So, Emolga is my third favorite Unova Pokemon after Darmanitan, and Beartic.

9:35 Revival Blessing Liepard via Assist is broken as well. So broken that Assist Cats became a banned Strategy alongside Funbro. Also, Male Meowstic with Prankster belongs to that group.
That Skill Link Minccino was what encouraged me to use it, and how it became my absolute favorite normal-type Pokémon, even if the ones I had in future titles didn’t have its hidden ability
The hidden grottos have some of my favorite ambience in the series. The subtle music, the wind blowing through the trees, the light peeking in between the leaves...it's all so nice.
Did you guys know that hearing "Hey everybody it's Chuggaaconroy! Welcome back to more [insert video game title]. Well, now you do.
As someone who made use of the Technician Cinccino and gave it a Silk Scarf, the line is pretty damn amazing. It's just that they're made of paper when taking a hit. Skill Link's the option to go with for reliability or if you want to add extra effects to the multi-hit moves. Technician's the one to go with if you want raw damage. As I've said in a previous video's comments (and on Twitter), if you're lucky enough to get the 5 hits on Tail Slap with the Silk Scarf and Technician boosts, you've just reached Explosion levels of power. This is because the power per-hit is close to 60 after STAB, Silk Scarf and Technician. At minimum, it's a normal type Megahorn. 3 hits is Hyper Beam levels, 4 is Self Destruct, and 5 is Explosion, as I mentioned a moment ago.

10:43 This random NPC's line actually has significance to it. "Art is an explosion" is a line famously said by Japanese artist Taro Okamoto. And in a massive coincidence, it was said by Brassius in the episode of the Pokémon anime that aired in Japan just yesterday.
I didn't realize that line was said by an actual person. I remember the clay artist guy in Naruto saying that a few times (taking the phrase a bit too literal).
9:30 Fun fact about Prankster Assist and how dumb it is (it's about gen 9 natdex anything goes, if you know you know) There's an unofficial singles meta called Smogon (Koffing's German name) and there's an online battle sim that's been out since around bw1 came out called Pokemon Showdown that runs on Smogon rules. Since Dexit in gen 8 they added in an alternate meta called National Dex, which has National Dex OU (the main mode that everything's balanced around), UU (if you're not used enough in OU you drop to UU), RU (same thing as UU but it's for UU usage), and Anything Goes (you get banned here if you're too centralizing in OU, nothing gets banned from this tier). Everything worked fine in gen 8, nothing too big was a problem in gen 8 ag. However, gen 9 came and introduced some mechanics. 1. Terastallization. There's a funny pokemon called Shedinja whose gimmick is it dies to any supereffective hit. Tera lets you change your type, therefore you change your weaknesses. So Shedinja can go from having 5 weaknesses to having 1 or 2, and make it completely untouchable if you let something die too early. 2. Revival Blessing. This is a move that functions as a revive, but it only has 1 PP and is only on 2 pokemon. It's able to be called by Assist though, so you can use it 32 times per assist user on your team. This led to a strategy called ReviveCats (a play on the strat mentioned in this video called DiveCats), where you brought a Smeargle with Revival Blessing and up to 5 Liepards (there's no species clause in anything goes and liepard's the best prankster assist mon) and every other pokemon carries only moves that can't be copied by assist (thief, switcheroo, protect, transform, etc) and you just stall them out. Sometimes these battles took so long that they hit a limitation on how long battles can take. This limit is set at ONE THOUSAND TURNS.' As a result of both ReviveCats and Shedinja, there was a new tier created called NatDex Ubers (between OU and AG, pokemon get banned to Ubers now and not to AG), and NatDex AG's ladder was removed from Pokemon Showdown. The same concept as DiveCats was so stupidly busted with the right move that it was part of an entire TIER getting nuked from Showdown's website. And, understandably, Shedinja, Assist, and some other things (mega gengar namely, since it's really fast, is a ghost type with 2 immunities, has shadow tag to trap whatever it wants in, and has encore to make you spam a move, so if you used a normal or fighting move, it would switch in and trap you with shadow tag, mega evolve, use encore to make you spam the move it's immune to, use nasty plot to set up, and then sweep with shadow ball and a move like psychic or focus blast for normal types)
when it comes to the leopard dive strategy, not too many people know this I don’t think about the move dive, but if you use surf on a Pokémon that used to dive, it will hit regardless
*In Nimbasa City* Shanir: Hey guys, we're back. Pignati: Ah, Shanir, Aidan. Good to see you guys again. Cheren: Oh great. more "liberation." Bianca: But they didn't have trainers, oddly enough. Someone did hit one with an empty ball, but it broke free. They were not among the current generation of starters, though. Cheren: Interesting. This is definitely valuable insight when it comes to finding them. *beep* Cheren: Hello? ???: Cheren, there are sightings of pokemon attacking humans. From what we have, it is a trio of grass types and not very tall ones. It might be the pokemon that attacked the lab you gave a report about. Cheren: Elesa, the ones that attacked the lab are snivy without trainers. They also work for Team Plasma. Elesa: Okay, I'll look further into it and inform nearby gym leaders and ex-gym leaders. Brycen happens to be nearby. Cheren: What are you waiting for? Hurry! *beep* meanwhile... ???: Mary, are you sure it is best if we do this? Mary: Yes, Sage. I’m glad you share my opinion on Pokéstar Studios. I keep telling people it’s great because it will give you enough healing items you’ll never need to buy one, but I was always disappointed they never paid you. Guess you were so young, and without parental supervision, so they figured they could exploit some loophole in the SAG. But I forgot about the Item Maniacs.
I feel a bit childish at the thought of going to the amusement park next episode. But I can't help it! It's the start of a side quest that I love and can't wait for it.
And outside of my regular copypasta comment, hey it’s this Mincinno! I caught it out of it being a special one and it’s actually been pretty good for me! I love my little baby Cappuccino. I gave him the scope lens, and yeah it rules!
Black 2 and White 2 hidden grotto's became the big wide eye opener to the scary curious possibilities of wanting to know how many pokemons having hidden abilities. It just leaves so many crazy curious concept and debates between whatever regular 1-2 abilities one could get normally in the field vs the hidden abilities that could be a game changer both in regular playthrough of the main game vs the insanity of competitive battling.
This little Minccino I met during my first playthrough of Black and White 2 is why this pokemon has become my favorite pokemon of all time. I just love using Skill Link moves so much and it became my MVP of my team during that playthrough I love the hidden grotto mechanic so much i wish they did more of this in future games.
Hidden grottos were such a cool addition with all the different things you could find. I liked how it was such a convenient way to get a Pokemon with a hidden ability you really like, even though they're quite rare. I used Skill Link Minccino before, and it wrecked everything that stood against it. One of the most underrated Pokemon ever once it has that ability
Seeing Cinccino and its preevolution go from a very okay Pokemon to being an absolute beast thanks to Skill Link was what made me want to try it out in XY WiFi Battles funnily enough. It may be my favourite Gen 5 Normal Type, but Porygon2 just holds a place in my heart. And all of these cool and unique mechanics and gimmicks in B2W2, makes me wish they kept them as mainstays and added some extra bells and whistles to them in future titles.
I never tried finding the hidden grottos, seems useful but I didn't bother, anyway here are the localized names for today Foongus=Trompignon, from tromper (deceive, fool) and champignon (mushroom) Only one new name this time, now I'm going back to big run.
You know what the funniest part is? Divecats isn't even the most busted example. This gen, Assist (due to being removed) wasn't given the ability to not call Revival Blessing, aka the move that REVIVES A POKEMON. Ergo, a new team named Revive Cats that spams it to remove all your PP was born in the *breathes in* Generation Nine National Dex Anything Goes Smogon Tier. And it is BUSTED. Like, so insanely busted that it got the tiers LADDER REMOVED, making it only playable via CHALLENGING FRIENDS. No tournaments either. Truly, an iconic combo indeed. Long live the Trollcat.
13:55 I think Maractus makes perfect sense for the guitarist because it like a play on Maracas, in addition with his trainer sprite similar to a sterotypical hipster a guitar and maracas kinda fit well with each other
Skill link Cincino is my favorite normal type pokemon. If you wait until level 31 in this game it gets wakeupslap which is it's only way to deal with steel types which is the only type you don't hit for at least neutrail on. Such a fun pokemon and such a cute pokemon too.
Was honestly surprised you didn’t add this Mincinno to your party. With how amazing it is and how it is such a little godslayer in its own right I thought it would have paired up well with Aidan 😂
I was similar when I was younger. Beat the game without finding new Grottos. Granted, I did not have my eye for detail as a child, but I still agree they are well hidden.
YESSSS I knew you were alluding to Skill Link when you mentioned the Minccino line earlier! I caught this guy on my first BW2 playthrough and he was one of my mainstays--A fast physical sweeper, to the point I named him Sweeps! (Also in reference to Minccino cleaning up with their brook-like tails X3)
With the gender ratios being different in the hidden grottos and the better abilities having a low chance of being female I wonder how many people have burned many hours trying to spawn a certain pseudo legendary dragon as a female. (That's gotta be a nightmare)
Idk why but when you mentioned thinking bianca having a good sniffer instead of good hearing the first thing i thought of was that scene from over the hedge where the exterminator somehow identified all of the animals by smell and i just find it funny to imagine bianca just stopping mid sentence sniffing the air rapidly and just saying "minccino" under her breath before instantly beginning to hunt down the grotto. XD
Hidden Grottoes are such a neat idea. They're not too noticeable if you're not paying attention, but if you're vigilant you get some really cool stuff out of them! Also, I feel like I'm a rare case where I legitimately don't use Fly to travel around. I do all my traveling around on foot.
One of my favourite pieces of fan art is one of Cinccino holding 2 guns, one with seeds and the other with rocks, and of its tails covered in blood. Thats a proper way to describe how brutal Skill Link Cinncino feels. One of my favourite pokemon because it feels like a gatling gun. The fact that scope lens and kings rock have a chance to proc EACH hit is insane
A little thing about the EV reducing berries, they will not work on a pokemon if their happiness is at the maximum. The pokemon you're using it on can still have EVs in that specific stat but it won't drop because of the max happiness
Hm, y’know, I kinda forgot about the Hidden Grotto Minccino when playing this recently. Don’t get me wrong, Technician worked very well for my own and I don’t regret using the one I did, but maybe Skill Link would’ve helped make her more consistent For reference, she had Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, and Triple Axel (mod exclusive). Yeah, Skill Link would’ve been great. Moral of the story: Skill Link is a godsend. Use. It.
The grottos were one of my favorite additions to this game! I really liked how they not only introduced Hidden Abilities, but also gave a way to catch Pokémon that were normally very hard to get in Unova. Some of them are still pretty rare and the respawn mechanic tied to steps is a little cumbersome, though.

MY BABY! MY SKILL LINKING MURDER BABY! I fell in LOVE with Minccino and Cinccino the _moment_ I saw it in Gen 5 and it has been my favorite mon since. I always love to train mine in Attack and Speed, it's a tiny glass cannon that will murderlate anything with low-ish defenses and Gen 8 gave it access to an ice attack in Double Axel making it even better long-term, even in the hellish landscape that is *POWER CREEEEEEEEEEP*

You can actually find Heracross in White2 and Pinsir in Black2 through hidden grottos.
They are just very rare.

Yeah, they are not technically exclusives but the rarity are so observed they might as well be.
I grt the feeling that Skill Link Cincinno will be even more terrifying when it gets added back into a future game. You just know they're going to give it Tidy Up.

Maybe I should ask them… but to ask is to be vulnerable and I hate looking weak… mmmmm…
*In the Pokécenter*
Everyone was nice and rested as Blaise fed them dinner.
“I don’t know the meaning of mercy.”
“I bet.
Jade then sighs… “I’ve learned to appreciate your collective company as well so… that helps.” She then admits with a bit of a mumble as she looks off to the side
The three stare at her a little surprised by her admitting the fact she might actually like them.
It’s really nice seeing someone who likes Emolga. Someone with a near perfect one, no less!
Less than a minute in and we're getting the best hidden machine in the game?! Talk about a flying start!

Revival Blessing Liepard via Assist is broken as well. So broken that Assist Cats became a banned Strategy alongside Funbro. Also, Male Meowstic with Prankster belongs to that group.
The Hidden Grottos add such a depth of adventure and discovery to the world of Unova.
I mean to an extent. I’m definitely all for them, but they are just a copy paste reskin of a single room
Last time we [insert previous episode's events and progress] and now we will [insert Emile's plan for the current episode]." consistently will increase happiness by approximately 6.4%?

Hidden spots in the world can *tree-t* us with cool pokes.
Hidden grottos are one of the best mechanics in black and white 2.
9:30 Fun fact about Prankster Assist and how dumb it is (it's about gen 9 natdex anything goes, if you know you know)
There's an unofficial singles meta called Smogon (Koffing's German name) and there's an online battle sim that's been out since around bw1 came out called Pokemon Showdown that runs on Smogon rules.
This limit is set at ONE THOUSAND TURNS.'
As a result of both ReviveCats and Shedinja, there was a new tier created called NatDex Ubers (between OU and AG, pokemon get banned to Ubers now and not to AG), and NatDex AG's ladder was removed from Pokemon Showdown. The same concept as DiveCats was so stupidly busted with the right move that it was part of an entire TIER getting nuked from Showdown's website. And, understandably, Shedinja, Assist, and some other things (mega gengar namely, since it's really fast, is a ghost type with 2 immunities, has shadow tag to trap whatever it wants in, and has encore to make you spam a move, so if you used a normal or fighting move, it would switch in and trap you with shadow tag, mega evolve, use encore to make you spam the move it's immune to, use nasty plot to set up, and then sweep with shadow ball and a move like psychic or focus blast for normal types)
when it comes to the leopard dive strategy, not too many people know this I don’t think about the move dive, but if you use surf on a Pokémon that used to dive, it will hit regardless
someone else pointed out that it deals double damage, as with earthquake-dig or hurricane-fly
Feels great to discover this game alongside you.

As a die-hard Disney World frequenter, this title is my most favorite of yours in a long time.

Since my mum has had a pissy tone with me for the past hour this is just what I needed.

Foongus=Trompignon, from tromper (deceive, fool) and champignon (mushroom)
Only one new name this time, now I'm going back to big run.
And I forgot to say it these last few episodes, but your mic audio sounds very clean and crisp. Don’t know what all is different, but I like it.

I am not shocked that you passed on the Hidden Grotos based on your history.
Skill link Cincino is my favorite normal type pokemon. If you wait until level 31 in this game it gets wakeupslap which is it's only way to deal with steel types which is the only type you don't hit for at least neutrail on. Such a fun pokemon and such a cute pokemon too.

😅
Dang, I was looking forward to seeing Skill Link Minccino in this playthrough. Definitely adding it to my team!
XD
The way he raved about that ability, I really thought he was going to use Minccino for a minute.
The fact that scope lens and kings rock have a chance to proc EACH hit is insane

paintball gun full of seeds, *rock*et launcher filled with rocks, and a frown

A little thing about the EV reducing berries, they will not work on a pokemon if their happiness is at the maximum. The pokemon you're using it on can still have EVs in that specific stat but it won't drop because of the max happiness
Say, just how much happiness does your Pokemon gain from defeating a single Pokemon?

Hm, y’know, I kinda forgot about the Hidden Grotto Minccino when playing this recently. Don’t get me wrong, Technician worked very well for my own and I don’t regret using the one I did, but maybe Skill Link would’ve helped make her more consistent
For reference, she had Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, and Triple Axel (mod exclusive).
I used salamence with moxie holy Sharpedo was it nuts lum berry in the battle subway or PWT with outrage hits like a truck hell liepards prankster is easily recommended with thunder wave or anything like status moves with priority underrated dark type in my book
Hello again, my gaming friend! I managed to find a Bagon in a Route 2 grotto, and I could NOT have been happier to get the Salamence from all the hard work after...
I actually SCREAMED when I saw Charles again, it made me so happy
you know the ev-reducing berries also raise friendship right
