Thanks. That is very helpful and inspiring. I like shoot most of my talking head videos outside for my African farming channel, and this will really help me get a setup that will up our quality. Cheers 🎉
Another super minimalist setup is a big translucent umbrella in place of the scrim. One stand, super light, packs small, set up is about as quick as possible
It's great! It's called the YC Onion Pineta Peak: www.yconion.com/products/pineta-peak-photo-video-carbon-fiber-tripod-w-hd-tripod-feet?variant=43438714978495
Making a big push to close out my first year on UA-cam - been fun to focus on cranking out some videos. Also, had some backlog, as you can tell from the hot June weather in this video - haha.
I love the fact you emphasize fast and light weight gear. Conserving time and energy is key.
100% agree - once you have the essentials, great work is often inversely related to the amount of gear you try to handle on your own.

Love that - Going to try that out.
This is also a a good fast setup I had considered. Any concerns on a windy day?
I liked the idea of bringing out a small light just to create a catch light. I would have never thought about that!
Anything that reflects a little catch-light in the interviewees eye will do the trick!
Thank you! Love those minimalist light setups. So practical.
Glad you like them!
great tips but also, i want that tripod!

@@CurrenSheldon Love it! You're on your way man! On a side note, what are those clamps on top of your stands called?
@@WillieShawFilms Can't remember the exact ones I have, but these seem to be the exact same thing: bhpho.to/3Zn6wpz
Unless you're talking about the more heavy-duty clamps, then those are from Impact: bhpho.to/4g1xOHv
Good video. Some nice tips for people who do outdoor interviews often.
