Hi from Wes. Oh the joys of baling on steep country (lol). I’ve baled country that nobody else would bale because they were afraid of it. It was so steep that my 4wd 150 hp 8 ton tractor in diff lock mode spun all wheels so I had to back down the hill. Great fun that exercise was. Best wishes for the coming harvest.
I have a 2021 GMC Yukon Denali with very low milage (less than 15k). We were about to take a trip from WI to Fl and a week before the trip, the fuel sending module (?) failed. They could not find the part anywhere in the US! I worked with the dealer & the regional GMC manager. They lent me a new 2023 Buick Enclave (w/ 2 miles on it !) to drive to/from FL without any cost (besides gas) to me. They were able to get the new part installed about a week after we returned.
Those eagles are magnificent animals! To see them close like that doing their business is a highlight of the day. Few months back we saw how eagle took a goose straight from the air .. some 50-60m away, now that was a sight to see!
These new cars , I wonder sometimes. That small ford eco tech has a timing belt inside the engine and it goes bad and the chunks plug up the oil pick up screen Crazy engineering
The problem with the Ford sounds like what we call trailer hitching. You probably know the feeling, driving with a load of corn. Sometimes the issue is the speed sensor and it will or won't throw a code.
Question on the mushroom barns, are they substituting something else for the hay or is there more competition with more growers or are they just beating growers down on their hay production? I don’t follow mushroom sales so I don’t know if there’s revenue is down on mushroom. It just seems to me that the hay business for mushroom barns is a very niche business that this hay would bring premium prices for hay. I have looked for mushroom growers in my area and there aren’t any.
The dealership can’t officially do the work without a code being thrown. They also have to let the “engineers” log in remotely on some things. They will also pay the techs 8 hours labor to search for anything to void a warranty and the service advisor will talk casually to the owner to find a warranty denial. I learned as a diesel tech for a certain brand how to force codes for when the techs and engineers wanted to screw a working man on a fuel system job when it wasn’t their fault. But they would warranty new motors and trans for their friends and “good” customers just to be nice.
For the baler parts.. Make more storage in the big shed where you want them. Place some shelfing,. If you order parts, order more quantities, and keep them on these shelfs. Always keeps those parts in your own environment, never relay on dealerships how much stock they have laying. If you have these parts on you own ground, then can order pick them which you need. And keep this stock updated. Some parts used is parts needs to order. Parts availability is the best to do with less waiting time. Organizing is key.
He already does that mate. All farmers keep a stock of wearing and commonly broken parts. But you can’t keep a stockpile of parts for a machine you don’t own. Those parts are first time order.
What I always thought was crazy around me was they would take a nice flat field and make it into a orchard. Than the step hillsides that you would hang off bad they would farm it. What they were thinking back in the day really made no sense.
I hope you can tarp the hay so when the barns run short hold your price paid on delivery with a backload of mulch free. You can bet they are running farmers out of business. Good luck with the new combine, great weather and better grain prices.
Wes that baling on the hills! Ya it would freek me out at the start till I got the feel of it. Sure is not a nice place for a hay field. You show us the your new parts and the prices wow!!
Factory warranties are to the point if there’s no faults. They won’t pay the dealer. If you replace it on a gut feeling and your wrong. You as a tech get to pay for it.
I was wondering if you was still doing the hay We had a good year this year we are getting ready for our thred cutting this year that's a rear thing nowadays in our part 😢 Oklahoma
ford has had a lot of problems with their dual clutch autotrans. Itll do it again no matter what they do to fix it, might be time to get a different one without that trans
Better way is touch brake peddles. This activates trailer brakes and stopping jackknifing to whole setup. Know this from 30 plus years driving these big balers in hill country
I’m glad to see you’re still making hay but a man has to do what makes money when are we going to get a review on your truck you have had it awhile now I was wondering if you still liked it or if you have had any problems out of it me and my family have always had fords that what we have had the best service out of we have owned them all but ford trucks has always held up better for us i know your had ford new 7.3 I was just wondering if you still like it
Jeep did that to me 3 times I told it the torque converter wasnt installed right... 2 months they told me they couldnt figure it out no codes... they need mechanics not computer techs.... look like TR62 gonna be running this year huh?
@craighinshaw2437 one of the local Apple growers near where i live has a small field of sunflowers planted. You can pay and Pick them yourself if you wanna some home
Wes your hard really pays off no matter what you do your yields are hard to beat here in Michigan our hay fever s about done until spring keep up the good work and may you have a happy harvest
Wes. How do you like your 7.3l godzilla? You had it for some time now. Is the truck still performing well? Any major issues? I'm looking at buying a 2021.
I don’t understand why people get so bet up about where stuff gets made? Imagine what a combine would cost if you were making all the bits in the USA ? You also have to remember that most new Holland combines are sold as you guys say out foreign. North America which includes Mexico and Canada accounts for less than one third of case new Holland sales annually by value and well less than 1 one quarter by volume
I think you said that those balers have a break system on them because they are so heavy, did you ever hook the breaks up ? Appologies if you have already answered this question too many times just curious :)
Hi from oz mate. I run Krone balers out here and all the bigger ones do have hydraulic activated from brake peddle (must be on tractor or added on after purchase). They are brilliant and make it as fast stopping as a car

Thanks for taking the time for this long video. Looking forward to see the new combine running.
Liked it when u got aunt beth with the motion activated sprinkler😂😅 years ago 😅😂
wow that was a long ass time ago!

It’s sad that ASE certified technicians can’t diagnose anything without a code reader
Nice to see Aunt Beth. Tell her Greg from East Tennessee says “Hi!” 😉

There's bald eagles on aluxahakin creek. Pretty fun mowing and them swooping on down and grabbing rabbits and mice
when the sensors get damaged ,check the shaft bearing is not loose. also check the unloading auger bottom gearbox for water
Hi Wes from Australia
These new cars , I wonder sometimes. That small ford eco tech has a timing belt inside the engine and it goes bad and the chunks plug up the oil pick up screen Crazy engineering
Hello Wes from Sollen Dairy Farm. Enjoy your videos. Can share the appreciation of the fields you have here in PA.
13:05 Wess the bald eagle 😂😂😂
You cant appreciate the slope of a hill on the video . Loosing traction is a bad thing !
Two months in the shop is why Ford is nine billion in the red.. and why I bought a Toyota RAV4 for the family
It doesn’t matter what you’re working on, parts are becoming a huge issue
The problem with the Ford sounds like what we call trailer hitching. You probably know the feeling, driving with a load of corn. Sometimes the issue is the speed sensor and it will or won't throw a code.
Glad your about ready to go on corn. I can't wait to see the new combine in action.

There’s also a 50 hour grease fitting on that side of the feeder house that’s in a real asshole of a spot also to get to

We are down to the last fifty Acres of hay for the year great video
I was wondering if you was still doing the hay

Wes, a tip for you when traveling down hill try putting your diff lock it will stop you going side ways,☺
Better way is touch brake peddles. This activates trailer brakes and stopping jackknifing to whole setup. Know this from 30 plus years driving these big balers in hill country
👍👍
I work in agri parts availability on some stuff is terrible at the moment

I miss the swingin mirror on the 8120.
Nearly time to rock an roll with the 8090
I'm kinda thinkin the UAW is about ready to make sure we don't build any car or trucks here anymore either.
Nice video
We bale some hills that the square bales will roll on
Would like to see sunflower field
You can find them in Ukraine which is one of their top crops..
@craighinshaw2437 one of the local Apple growers near where i live has a small field of sunflowers planted. You can pay and
Pick them yourself if you wanna some home
And just like that , the big three auto makers are having torque converter issues. Can’t make this stuff up
Wes your hard really pays off no matter what you do your yields are hard to beat here in Michigan our hay fever s about done until spring keep up the good work and may you have a happy harvest
Good video.
😮 I've had bad experiences on hills
Does look steep as all get out. Seat is going to have serious pucker marks on it.
Try gear oil on that hinge that's rusty it will stay better then oil .
Is that farm where your popping johnny shut them up?
Have seen you spray this farm!
👍🏻🍻
Nothing more american then john deere tractors and bald eagles. We got them up in canada too.
Wes. How do you like your 7.3l godzilla? You had it for some time now. Is the truck still performing well? Any major issues? I'm looking at buying a 2021.
Why are you using the 8120 when you have 6210R wouldn’t that pull the baler better ?
Bald Eagles also like Hawks mate for life 👍
Mechanics anymore are just parts changers. If the computer cant tell them what to do they don't got a clue.
Is that up by pittstown ?
Just out of curiosity if the dealer has your car for 2 months of the warranty will they put an extra 2 months on to the end of the warranty
😊

Maybe you need a John Deere 8760/ 8970 to pull that bailer up those hills!
Thumbs up
I think you said that those balers have a break system on them because they are so heavy, did you ever hook the breaks up ? Appologies if you have already answered this question too many times just curious :)

@@Rcod2013 it only makes sense with all the weight involved
You’re right there. Some of those big balers weigh more than the tractor pulling them.
Hey Wes, is your dad still involved in the business? I haven’t seen him lately.
I think Pa Pa Pandy is having some health issues,
Why not the 8530?
It was on the other bailer that Teresa was running
I think fiat own Iveco trucks aswell as new holland

Wes- a dealership can not just replace things. Having a code give them a reason to do the work.
No shit but it's hard to give a code when it's not throwing a code
Built in foreign countries because of greed.
looks an awful lot like the area you had the trans issues and almost crashed
