- An easy stable product to add to your prepper pantry is soup mix. Winter is coming and we need to have our homes prepared for anything that 2022 may bring. Soup mix is an economical and nutritious way to make soup, without taking up a lot of space on your pantry shelf. Just add water. Bear Creek soup mix tastes good. Aldi has several versions of soup mix to buy as well. Add these to your prepper pantry and food storage.

Bear Creek mixes are a must in a pantry! I have used them for years :) Just add a piece of crusty bread and you will be super happy! Have a blessed Christmas Sandy!
Crusty bread is one of my favorites. I am late to the game on these soup mixes, but I've caught on now! :)
I hope you don't mind but I'd like to make a suggestion. Get your self a vacuum sealer and put the contents in that and vacuum seal it. It lasts much longer.
I love suggestions! I always learn so much from the comments. We actually have a vacuum sealer, but I hadn't even thought about using it. Very good idea, Amber.

Manischewitz soup mixes are great too. They come in flavors like lentil and split hair.

My favorite is the cheddar broccoli. I haven’t bought these in a while, but I’ll definitely be picking up a couple of these packages in my next grocery haul 🙂
They've been around for many years. Amazon / Bear Creek sells them on autoship. And, many of us dont want to do that.
Big Lots has them, as does Walmart, and most grocery stores.

An inexpensive, but filling dinner option.
My kids didn't like the chicken noodle but they are very picky eaters still. Drives me crazy but my husband assures me they'll eat it if they're hungry :)
Lol, that is true. Although it is hard to eat stuff you don't like. Was it the bear creek chicken noodle or the Aldi brand chicken noodle soup mix?
@@sandysteinbrook it was actually the Aldi brand. I can't eat gluten but my husband said it was good.
i priced the Bears Creek Soup Mix on Amazon maybe the are made with Gasoline the cheapest i found them is for 4.99 each , some are even 7.00 for one. Maybe Amazon is not the best place to buy them? Im glad to see you have a Butane stove that is my #1 choice for indoor cooking. I have the Coleman (blue )one. I saw one on Amazon i liked alot its a Japanese made Butane stove only thing its 100.00 who knows i may still buy it or just buy another Coleman.2 is 1 and 1 is none they say.
Bear Creek makes a really good gumbo soup.......must try it. I buy mine at Big Lots

This is something I use a lot in fall and winter. My boys are picky. I add ham, clams, chicken, or even real bacon bits. We love Creamy potato, Chichen noodle, Creamy Wild Rice Soup, and Clam Chowder. It is a lifesaver sometimes with soccer games and football. They don't take so long to make.

It’s doubled now sadly. Amazon is selling a 5 pack for $33.28 almost $7 a pack now!!! Where else could I find these besides Amazon where they are not so expensive.
I can not believe how much prices continue to climb! Walmart carries Bear Creek Soup and Aldi carries their own brand. Maybe try one of those stores.
The aldi soup mixes are great! Good with bacon bits too. They make ALOT of soup. I usually just make half.

They are fabulous , however I have heard the spice within them are not shelf stable. Should be fine for a year or two, but may be a gamble after that. I do store them, but constantly rotate.
What is the shelf life for these soups?
One to two years, but if you vaccum seal them, you could probably get 5 years out of them.
