I was in CDMX about a month ago and went to many of the restaurants on your list. For 3 people, I typically spent between $40 and $100 per meal. Uber is crazy cheap. Usually $2-3 per trip. El Cardenal was my favorite for breakfast. I liked the location close to Polanco more then El Centro. I went to your favorite taco stand in El Centro and a gordo man was eating over the condiment area dropping his food into it so I went to the bar next door and ate which was good and cheap. Heading to Rome and Florence in 5 weeks to try Italian food. Do you have an Italian restaurant list?
Very happy to hear that! That's a pretty solid range 👌🏽 I don't know if Uber is cheaper anywhere in the world than CDMX (maybe SEA via Grab?). El Cardenal is so good. I will have to check out the location closer to Polanco!! I have never been. Los Portales de Tlaquepaque? I've never had their food but have heard good things and have almost never passed by without ordering a pitcher. It's been awhile since I've been to either, but I do have an Italy list. Sorry there are 2 and they are kind of messy; places I went in 2016: goo.gl/maps/mEui3guYBUHdVMSt5 places I went in 2018 & 2019 and plan to go next time: goo.gl/maps/3pNYu6vdfs6SKeZr5
@@intristang wow 😯 I feel like Noot Noot the penguin 🐧 For us it's like the equivalent of flying internationally out of Detroit. Sort of... But man, that is cheap! More money for food 🌮😎🤘
@@FunCook100 I am unaware of said penguin haha but I now recall a guy on my flight home to LAX from GDL and he was doing two legs to get to YVR and he was paying over 2x what we paid :O
This is a great question. Unfortunately the answer is Google sheets. I'm not sure if it's just out of habit or my desire for control. I will do a screen share of my spreadsheets in some upcoming videos. Thanks as always for watching and commenting!
Man, you guys crushed it! Our spending averaged about $3,000 per month in CDMX, so I know there is a lot to cut out if necessary. That Sonder was awesome, but killed my budget. Do you have to pay for phones or health insurance? Combined that is $100 per month for us.
I think we saved a lot of $ having roof beers with you two instead of bars and doing more tacos and less $$-$$$ places 😅 Given I know how much your rent was, $3k is very impressive. We "splurged" this month (July) and spent about ~$400 over budget and it's really killing our F&B budget. We planned on getting sims or esims but have been living off of wifi (not for everyone I know). Re insurance, we have been yolo-ing it... which again def isn't for everyone. $100 for both of those for 2 sounds incredible!
Wow!! Amazing video! Loved the comparisons :) I can't wait to visit Mexico City 😍
Thank you so much! I can't wait for you to visit either--it's one of the best cities in the world!

@@intristang Thanks
Interesting how cheap it is to fly from LAX to Mexico City.
Much more expensive flying from YYZ to Mexico City 🧐🌮
It really is! Even compared to SFO it's quit (and consistently) much cheaper. I usually only expect to pay ~$100 each way

What app do you use to keep track of your spending and your budget?

I’ve never met anyone as obsessed and detailed with spreadsheets as Tristan is 😂
