Nice looking cassette player, did you send the head away to be lapped, if not, could we see the process sometime? Excellent work and thanks for sharing.

I am doing lapping by myself. For this process i am using diamond polish paper sheets with various grits.
I will do video in the future, I thought that its not very interesting :)
      Thank you
      Cheers

How did you clean the board? Did you clean it in an ultrasonic bath?

I am using isopropyl alcohol bath and fine soft brushes and compressed air for that. Used ultrasonic cleaner once and it damaged switches.

I cant find proper capacitor in my coutry. Im thingking to replace electrolytic with tantulum ones

Best way is to use digikey or mouser for getting capacitors and they ship i think everywhere, because i have heard from some of techies who tried tantalums that sound is strange and not as nice as with electrolyte ones. I personally have not tried to use tantalums instead of electrolyte ones.

Lately I notice couple of volume drops out throughout my tape playback. When i look at the tape, i can see multiple white stripes on it. I did clean the tape path of my player before playback. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Can be lots of things: tape itself failing... something mechanically, like bad pinch roller, bad positioned pinch roller and so on so fourth...
      Cheers
