Saw it again!! Jane is at Pete's side all the time. Lisbon has her reservations until Pete began to cry. Her face shows pain and compassion. Poor poor boy....😢
Ivonne. Those changes in Lisbon's face shows us how sensible she is. Even if she's the chief..she can't stand so much pain from Pete.
Vivien. I love to read your comments. I am not so good to write or makes me understand. But you are very clever. The way you discovered how everybody in the video acts and even the glances between them!!. I think that Lisbon didnt suspect on Pete..but she is the chief so she must be sure. But looking at this scene..her faces changes completely because she "feels" everything Pete is feeling. And you are right: traumas in soldiers are terrible. They needs help and compassion.

Well. I saw the scene..and I cryied so much that I have to wait to recover myself to write you. This is one of those moments where Jane is completely serious and concern..in The Mentalist. That shows how he is with people that suffers as he suffered too. Jane is always looking at Pete. He never interrups him. He makes the questions softly and caring. Of course Lisbon has to know..but in the moment that Pete beguns to cry she couldn't look at him. It's so painfull!!!. Jane and Lisbon manages the situation differently but both are sensitive and human. Seeing how Pete suffers..makes me wants to adopt him as a brother. When that man interrups the interrogation..Pete doesn't even remember Lucy was murdered. I insist: the way Jane is with Pete. I bet he wants to hugs him!!!. Again..I have no way to explain what I feel with this scene and the others from this episode. I love it. I cry with it. I feel it in my bones and heart. Pete is one of my fav characters by far. Both..Jane and Lisbon are soooo respectfull and caring with this young marine!!!!. Oh God..I wish him the best on Life and I really love him. Thank you again for uploadind no one..or two scenes from this episode..but Three!!! All my 💖 to you!!!!.

My dear. After your explanation I HAVE to see again the scene. And I notice one thing: Pete never said "I'm not guilty" or he never denied what he did..he never gaves excuses. That's crucial I think. When one is guilty of something we always gives excuses or explanations..but he didn't. Jane is very aware about that and Lisbon too. Pete is talking in a normal way..he is not nervous at all. Another reason for Lisbon to be in a mess. She believes him but.. And also Jane talks to Pete in such a calm way and so secure that she swings between:"guilty or not"?.
Did you see that during the interrogation Jane is constantly looking at Pete? He is aware of any movement..any word..any gesture he did. And how calm Jane stay. Lisbon seems to be a bit nervous. What do you think about this? (I saw 5 times this scene). I'm interested in your opinion my friend.
Jane is very good at reading body language. Here, too, he observes Pete well and is aware of his innocence. Lisbon is nervous. Because she can't understand what's going on. She's facing a man she considers a suspect, but at the same time seems innocent. Lisbon can't decide in her head what's right. She is afraid of being deceived. For example, in season 1 episode 9, there was a normal guy who pretends to be a fool but actually wants revenge. Lisbon seriously believed in his problem and didn't think he would be the murderer. And then Jane unmasked the man. And the man turned out to be the murderer. And we all remember Lisbon's amazement at that scene. I think in Lisbon's head there's a possibility that she is being tricked here too. And that's why she can't be completely sure of the innocence of the other person. She's having a mess in her head. On the one hand, as we talk to Pete, we can see the changes in his emotions. When someone accidentally opens the door and Pete's memory is reset, Lisbon's shift in mood is barely noticeable (for which her acting should definitely get a standing ovation for giving this small detail). In this part, Lisbon seems to get a little closer to the idea of innocence.
@@i.miss.the.mentalist I sent you my comment about your wonderful explanation but I can't find it!!!. Well.. I guess it's lost. To resume what I sent you: You are right in everything you said. Lisbon has to be very carefull as on Season 1 as you said she thought that a man was mentally sick and Jane discovered he was normal. And you are right in the amazing Robin perfomance here. I never understood why the actors and the show never won an Emmy. It is the best. Also you are right telling me that Jane is "reading Pete's body language". But he never thought he was guilty. Lisbon has a mess in her mind as she is sitting in front of a young man who seems to be innocent..but she has to be sure. Jane was sure..not her. It's a pitty my original comment is lost..but....well. The fact is that you are very clear in explaining me facts and I can understand everything about characters and situations.
