Other corps have scored higher since, but only ONE CORPS EVER has been placed first by every single judge in every single caption and sub caption on Finals night, and that corps is the 2005 Cadets.
I think this guy did a good job. Verbally he cant describe what he's hearing and feeling but he judged it right. This is coming from a Blue Devils fan :) Give props where props is due
Yes, 19.7 was the average. This judge gave them a 19.8; the Ensemble judge threw a 19.6. And the 0P left out the part where the judge said it was his first viewing of them all year.
its not like its some intergalactic wtf are they playing stuff lol. its tap 5s tap rolls paradiddle diddles and paradiddles . just listen and repeat a bar at a time

Amen
BD 2014 is the only corps to scored higher, and is much more better show musically, imo. This drumline is god-tier clean, tho.
Greatness!
The Blue Devils won and placed first in every caption in 1986. 19 years before Cadets.
@@Joe-yz3uf shoutouts to standing still
8:35 is vocal drum break
That’s insane
I only came here for this lol
I love that this was literally the first time this judge had heard this Drumline all season up to this point 😂
excellent job on the heretas....verbally...
LMFAO "so like what am I supposed to be judging rn?" -judge
Lol
Hertas
I swear if you don't memorize
vocal break
MRTY 7404 you ain’t a real G if you can’t drop that entire vocal break in the spot
Best damn drum line I’ve ever heard and the coolest book.

This was my first DCI performance I ever watched and is my favorite till THIS DAY
This show is what made me fall in love snare drumming. I was hooked.
6:12 they are just RAMMING notes oh my lord
Probably my favorite part of this show. Also one of my favorite ballads of all time lol.
I love how the horn line is playing one of the most beautiful, elegant ballads in the history of DCI and the battery is just cranking out notes lol.
I should dig up the J.J. Pipitone's 1/4 final judges tape. I have it in Dropbox.
Yeah let's go
Did you ever post it
More judges tapes!
99.15 was the overall score. I want to know what was the percussion score if anyone can remember
Joseph Oblick I believe it was a 19.7.

RIP Cadets
no ticks for about 4 minutes 'some good ensemble work going on' haha AK. how do you even judge this when it's so together
10:32-10:42 that’s what he said 😂
8:05 is what all you quad players are here for
as a quad player I'm here for the beatboxing
The fact there was only one small tick is insane it sounded like one player
I FLIPPING LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
8:29 YEAAAHH! FUUUCCK!!
Chill bill at the beginning
nabilzbeast twisted nerve
Yeah baby! Yeah!
Their amazing playing was overshadowed but the million on field distractions. But no doubt this was squeaky clean! Thanks for the upload.
Does anyone have a transcription of that snare part at 6:12?
GormyGorm yes.

He said singles, coming into diddles and triplets then dimuendo and little thick on the right side there snares twice. Not much of a judges tape.
Go away
ah look! an esteemed member of the UA-cam judges community
Jarod More lol a finals tape from a corp who I'm pretty sure won high percussion that year (memory escapes me). What more was there to say?
Tom Schmitz they did win high percussion. With one of the highest scores ever. Great point that there wasn’t much to say
A sign of an excellent percussion is that the judges have nothing to say. When a judge mentions percussion, it is almost always negatively.
