I love that you guys are not only there bc of the sound of music movie sets etc. But to find out more about the cities salt mining history that made Salzburg to what it is now❤️. Fun fact: Mozart is actually German not Austrian.😊
Nope. Mozart is not German. He was born in Salzburg which was part of the Holy Roman Empire. Germany did not exist at that point. When Germany unified in 1871 Salzburg belonged to the Austrian Empire.

Fried chicken and potato salad in Salzburg is a new concept to me. I associate those foods with the American South. I wonder how they became a thing in Austria, an expensive thing, too!
Yeah, we werent expecting Fried Chicken to be THAT good. However, we did come to find out that potato salad is a pretty staple dish in these parts. We had potato salad several times over the course of the next few weeks!
The first time the recipe appears in an Austrian cooking book is in 1719. It's called "Wiener Backhendl" (Viennese fried chicken). There is nothing more Austrian than covering meat with breadcrumbs and deep fry it. Just think of "Wiener Schnitzel". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backhendl en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiener_schnitzel

Thanks for the video! Austria feels very dog friendly. They even let you bring your dog inside!

What month was this? I'm going in April and curious about the weather.
We went at the end of April. It was definitely chilly. Would recommend packing a rain jacket! :)
What is your favorite thing about Salzburg?

@@Franz_Josef_von_Habsburg We definitely agree with you. Beautiful land and yummy food.
