If you enlisted, E5 and below you will be living in open bay warehouse with bunk beds and wall lockers like a homeless person with other 50 people, and shower, restroom will be in trailers. Don't expect to live like these people on a video.
Yea which is not necessarily so bad I’ve been twice in the last 3 years and this is a terrible example for all troops but the worst accommodations are still 5 star compared to other deployments . It’s not bad at all and if you’ve been anywhere other than here you’d be extremely thankful.
@@pinkextra305jetsetter4 Depends on your rank, where in Kuwait they send you, and if it is a PCS or a deployment. What they showed is accurate for Camp Arifjan but applies mostly to higher ranks as as well as civilians. Lower enlisted may get thrown in a bay BCT-style. Then there are the people that get sent to Camp Buehring. I don’t know what it is like there now but back in 2016 E-4 and below lived in tents with at least 15-20 people and E-5 and above lived in containers with between three and six people (some of the seniors had more private containers). You could all but forget about seeing any indoor plumbing there.

This is just for active duty in Zone 1. If you are Reserve/National Guard and if you are not E-8/O-4 or higher, you'll be in the Zone 6 slums unfortunately.
It's ashame how lower enlistment live out there when the higher ups basically have an actual apparent size space. Lower enlistment sleep in a giant tent with barely any space. Just imagine a homeless camp.
My CHU looks nothing like this. They staged the heck out of the 1st quarters. I have always had a twin. I’m a DoD civilian, GS-13. That CHU must be for a GS-15.
I think they should add that this for special assignments only. I was at Buehring under OEF, 12 years ago, and most troops were in tents with plywood dividers, or 6 person room multi unit CHU’s. I know a lot has changed, but I’m not sure this is for typical OIR troops.
Highly doubt most SM's will be getting anything like this. But still, connex dorms are way better than what I had in Afghan. Camp Beuhring will be cake. Even if it's not Arifjan tier.
Hi, I’m going on deployment over there and I want to know more about it. How is living there, the culture. To have a better idea on how everything is gonna be? Are we allowed to leave base ? How often you get off
I would like to work as civilian. I am a heavy commercial driver and good in clerical work. Diploma holder and undergraduate introduction to Psychology Trinity western University.
Maybe if you're a high-ranking officer. All of us lower enlisted, and NCOs living at arifjan Zone 6 1400 block had concrete floors in steel buildings with bunk beds and wall lockers. At beuhring, we lived in tents with plywood floors and bunk beds. Bathrooms are Porta pottys filled with moth balls and showers were dirty trailers. It's not like this at all. So don't be fooled. These spoiled officers are living in mansions compared to the trash conditions the real soldiers live in. Working 16 hours in 140-degree heat at the spod. This video just makes me mad as hell. They're lying to you troop. You'll never see any of this stuff. Except the zone 6 food court, that part is real. The oasis dfac was zone 1 and all the officers who looked down their noses at the Joe's went there. Beuhring had one dfac and an overflow tent dfac. They had a small food court, too, and the desert diamond Asian food. The subway guys a beuhring were the best. Give you double everything and not make you pay for it.
@@louiewatson9389 why are you laughing? You're either a civilian who couldn't join, a low ranking soldier in seek of approval or did three years and now think you know what the military is.

So e-6 and above get their own rooms as illustrated in the video?

2006-2007 Camp Navistar, we had a tent and chow hall for luxuries
was there in 2004-2005-- we slept in a 80 man bay....
Heading there soon. Thank you for the video. It helps alleviate alot of RFIs to personnel Im replacing.
I've had reports of servicemen having to buy from locals to eat.
The living quarters is a lie!!!! Been there twice!!!
So what is it like for military personnel?

Q8 is heaven for military personnel n contractors compare to any other countries
Depends on the company and contract. I actually lived on base and it was less than desirable 😂
Holy crap! I'm deploying to Camp Arifjan in 2024 and am super pumped!!

Do you know where the chiefs live? Open bay ?
I would love to come back to arifjan but there's no positions for British workers sigh
While i was in i didnt know the army had "hr" the entire time i was in
things have definitely been upgraded since 2011
