This was predicted as early 2007, I remember questioning what NATO said in 2004, because in my head there was no way Ukraine would betray the only brother that is taking care of them, while EU isolate them in the global market. An expert in 2007 pointed it out that due to global movements, its possible Ukraine will break its relation with Russia to try break into the EU global market. Another expert in 2009 I think, predicted Ukraine, Taiwan, any Middle East country near Iraq(Syria was picked), and he was just saying which country US targets next. Today, I'm just mind blown how none of us took this serious, back then I thought it was just mumbo jumbo. US is a country that grows by taking from others, that's the only rule. Ww1 US was in the war only in the late stage for 1 year, same thing in ww2, late stage for 1 year, and people are brainwashed to think if it wasn't for US, EU will be speaking German, which is not only nowhere near the facts, but to this day, US or Americans and UK people believes deep down they saved EU from the Nazis and to this day who US claims to be an enemy of freedom and liberty, Americans just believes it to be true. China is still a communist country, and its thriving beyond belief, once they were bad examples.

Actually, goods from the Old Silk Road did reach Rome, via the Levant and Turkey. But, by the 15th century, these routes were controlled by the Turks. That's what prompted Columbus to search for alternatives.

They have bases there and their ice breakers are the best and most numerous in the world. Alaska would be an easy target for Russia to capture and once there all of North America is within easy reach for the Russian army, airforce and even their small navy. Russia does have a very powerful submarine fleet. Russia will not be easy to defeat as Napoleon and Hitler found out. Anyway I see it America won't surrender its global hegemony without an all out war including nuclear weapons. There are idiots in the Pentagon that are telling Trump that they could win a nuclear war. If that happens it will be the end of all live on a radioactive planet. American idiots are working to convince Trump and anyone else that will listen that if they use preemptive strikes only on the battlefields Russia will either surrender or stick to battlefield strikes of their own. Russia knows that America will never be satisfied with surrender; nothing short of total destruction of their country will be accepted. China knows that Russia is not the main target; it is China that America wants to destroy. China knows they will be forced to fight America eventually. That's why they are building islands that cover their coast and are really unsinkable aircraft carriers designed to defend the mainland and their trade routes, not to attack America.
