Harry did know about Ferrer, Dexter went to him and told him and got his permission. I also think the differences in Harry work because before it was specifically from dexters point of view, so he of course remembers having any sort of oversight as controlling, whereas this show is more showing the actual events. It works for the storytelling and psychology of it.
D'ohhh! Good catch! I had forgotten their conversation about that, and was thinking more about when Dexter hoodwinked Harry into thinking he had an interest in Hi-Li. I had forgotten the Ferrer context of Harry's "no more trophies" warning. I likewise believe the differences with Harry work, and on that note, I'm curious to see if Dexter's memories wound up betraying him on any key points.
Dexter did use his m99 on the guy in the first episode. He just does not use it at first. Only after he showed him the kids he killed he dosed him to tie him down to the table in his kill room.
I think original sin is pretty good. I really love the fact that we get to see a way less experienced version of Dexter and that we get to dive even deeper into his character and story. I also love the casting which is almost near perfection. Hopefully they wrap up the show in a good manner. And that final episode trust is gonna super emotional with probably Harry’s death and Laura’s death.
i hate how despite how you saw they completely missed the mark, by not doing what you said they shouldve, and establishing mad dog as the series antagonist. that wouldve been better writing than what they came up with and that was just you. i dont think people have realised just how bad the writing's gotten. new blood shouldve given us a taste of that.
After watching the first episode,I cannot help but wonder about the reunions between Christian Slater & Patrick Dempsey after working together in the 1991 film Mobsters & Christian Slater & director Michael Lehman who directed the 1989 film Heathers.
O.S.- i was happy to see a couple beats for Dexter. i hated that ending. Dexter handled his dark passenger as best he could. Harry over-reacts, he set this up.
I think Dorris was Effing around and maybe Debra is not Harry's biological child. To some extent it's possible that he knew if it's true. Some theorize that Cpt Mathews from the OG series was sleeping with Dorris, and Debra is his child.
I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong Dexter used ketamine in New Blood because it was the closest approximate he can access. He got it from a veterinarian, which was the least suspicious place he could get it from. He got the m99 using Miami Metro connections, which he didnt have in New Blood. The strongest knockout agent relative to ease of access. I believe Dexter mentions it off hand during a New Blood monologue
You are correct, he got the ketamine claiming he needed it for Vincent Van Goat. But when Chief Angela Bishop was investigating the Bay Harbor Butcher, the old news reports claimed that Butcher used ketamine, but that was incorrect, because it was actually M-99. That was the discrepancy.
@@WowLynchWow Dexter original sin is also full of retcons. Having my friend have already compiled the quite a long list, mostly down to miss dating of events, such as Debra's birth and doris Morgan's death.

Harry is secretly the real villain of Dexter when you think about it 😂
Yes because he could’ve got Dexter help but instead turned Dexter into a weapon with a code that must be followed by.
i really enjoy this prequel so far
Same here. I appreciate anything dexter, particularly if it's good
Same. When I first heard about the prequel, I wasn't all that enthusiastic. But so far, it's been very well done in my opinion.

I am enjoying your analysis of this series very much. Thank you😊
Thank you very much. Appreciate that. Cheers!
Ah! HA!! Harry was the Bay Harbor Butcher!! Mystery finally solved!

Dexter should have at least put more plastic over Mad Dog's foreheard and legs so he wouldn't break free as easily with his skill as a hitman.

The same thought crossed my mind.
How is Dexter able to get m99 ?? 🤔🔪💉

@@WowLynchWow also how Davie Sanchez and Matthews are completely absent, both in the flashbacks and the 1991 scenes
@@WowLynchWow ooooooh. Thanks for clearing that up,
