  • Welcome to The Onyx Report's Daily Black Masculinist News, where we Black Male Justice Advocates uplift Black men and boys using critical analysis in today's video, "The Woman King…Sigh (Spoilers)"
The Onyx Report is a program that critically analyzes the experiences, histories, and perceptions pertaining to Black males in American society across age, class, religion, sexuality, and occupation. I am your host, Dr. T. Hasan Johnson, Associate Professor of Africana Studies at Fresno State, Black Male Studies scholar, and Black Male Justice Advocate. In the program, we examine current events and major issues using an empirically-driven Black masculinist theoretical lens, thus including such concepts as the Black male dual economy, anti-Black misandry, phallicism, the subordinate male-target hypothesis, the subculture of violence theory, and the Black Gynarchy).
Our goal is to remind people-including Black men themselves-of Black male humanity. Join us every Wednesday at 5pm (pst), unless otherwise stated, on UA-cam, Facebook, and on every 1st & 3rd Wednesdays on www.InnerLightRadio.com.

As a South African and a Zulu in KwaZulu, I can clearly say we will not let any downplaying of Shaka's masculinity into some 'Hulk with glasses doing yoga' nonsense. Shaka is not a fictional character, he is our nation's founding warrior King. We have airports and Highways named after him. He is not a fictional character from Stan Lee's brilliant creative mind. He was real, he has a grave where we go every year to pay our respect.

ACTUALLY according to our liberal arts history class, Shaka's real name was Shakira and identified as a woman and freed the slaves while still in Africa then traveled to America to help with Harriet Tubman because black men ain't shit.

No they weren't queens you're completely right. What these white feminists have done is re-write the organizational structure of Dahomey to suit their agenda. It's Revisionist bs. The structure of any functioning society is done by a collaborative effort of both men and woman, and Dahomey was essentially ahead of its time because it incorporated the use of women in ways other African nations, or any nation on the Earth, would not conceive of doing. So if anything the film should've been a testament of how consummate The Black Man's Knowledge and Understanding is. How wise and mature we are by seeing the value of our women to either keep them safe at home or to utilize them strategically in battle, in either situation it's recognizing value of each gender. Some of them were the kings wives, but not considered queens. Originally elephant hunters, they then became the kings guard even police officers that addressed civil concerns, and soldiers. It was all the mastermind of King Ghezo/ Gezo.

This is more about propaganda and promoting more Willie Lynch gender division btwn BM & BW. The WS can care less about true history. They will make up their own reality and his-story to push false narratives. They are focusing on pandering to BW’s egos and narcissism, by placing them over BM in society and annexing straight BM out of any influence in Black society.
However, Wht liberals only elevate BW symbolically. Look at Kamala Harris. She’s bashed by Whts on both sides of the aisle and will never be President, but they used her appeal to “Black Girl Magic” to sucker BW and their simps into voting for Jim Crow Joe.
We’ll see Ketanji Brown Jackson not take any strong stance on race issues that will help Blk people in the court, if it will anger Wht folks. Whereas, Justice Sonia Sotomayor DGAF, if she agrees and it helps Hispanics, she’s supporting it with a vote. She don’t care what WP think. AOC is same way, yet her squad member Ayana Presley is just promoting the same DNC garbage to Blk folks (immigration reform, meetoo, dedicated 🏳️‍🌈 and Asian legislation, money for Ukraine and Afghans).

36:45 This loss of power by being with the complimentary sex is entirely a rainbow concept. I've read of greek male and later british sexual deviants saying the exact same thing about being with women. It's basically a recruiting line for the alphabet brigade, and a not so secret nod to them from the writer (not surprising). Both soft girl era and woman king/ dora milaje point to the same end result of BW controlling the lives of BM who act as a means to manifesting the luxuries and pleasure BW demand. Basically two opposing cosplay/subculture themes to ensnare every type of sista into taking anti-black misandry actions as a lifestyle. One for those who worship whiteness and want to integrate more fully, and the latter for those who lean towards their own Africaness but don't really know that that means.

I saw Shaka Zulu as a kid too. My mother loves that mini-series. You mentioned you never saw him in anything else. My mom saw him working at an upscale shoe store in Manhattan, she walked into. He caught her looking at him and his expression had the “oh no I’ve been spotted” look, so she decided not to say anything to him. She didn’t want to make him feel self-conscious. This was in the late 90s.
Maybe after he killed that performance as Shaka, he had been typecast as the scary, angry BM. Then, Wht film studios didn’t want to hire him, unless he would take some emasculating role to offset it and he refused. Probably, tried to put the proverbial dress on him ala Dave Chappelle and he just squared up and got a job. They tried to keep Ron O’Neal playing those Superfly characters and he didn’t want to and his career fizzled. Both of those BM were great actors.

Once you know the plan, you can pretty much predict the story lines now. I watched a video that explained, why black men must die first in any movie, it explains a whole lot. I know my history, and black men taught the world how to become civilized. We built civilizations, everyone else came from caves. My nephew saw nothing wrong with Prey, he's 34, lives with his mama, with girlfriend and two kids, so no surprises there. His mama retired at 40, so he wouldn't go anywhere. He pays all the bills, so he thinks he's the man of the house, but if he disciplines his daughter's, he's attacked, and has to ask me if he's wrong. I refuse to support these kind of family dynamics, I have walked away. When you raise men, that see nothing wrong with being demasculated, get ready to teach your son to piss sitting down. Im retired US Army, 20 years, & I own my boxing gym for 12 years & not one woman has beaten a man in any physical competition including armed & unarmed combat. I have woman come into my gym thinking they can beat men & then they realize there's no way they'd ever be able to beat a man in a fight. Also, my last combat deployment in Iraq, I was treating the women equally by putting them on guard duty just like the men. I had a woman soldier tell men how scared she was having to guard those Iraqi men. She told me they could easily just punch her & take her weapon & do whatever they wanted to do to her. I thought "oh shit, she right". So I had to take all of the women off guard duty & double up the men's shifts. They didn't like it until I explained how easily the Women can be overpowered if the men they were "guarding" just decided to take their weapons, then they agreed. Women will only concede after they're put into that position to have to perform just like a man. None of them will like it & they all will fail. But until then, they just keep saying "we can be just as strong, fierce & violent as men", but they'll never have to prove it.

The Dahomey women were enlisted because everybody able to pick up a weapon had to help fight off slavers, and they not only wanted to defend themselves but THEIR children, especially sons because as Dr. Johnson said, Males were the main people taken worked to death and replaced with more males. Women had the advantage of being permitted in the palace precincts after dark (Dahomean men were not), and a bodyguard may have been formed, Alpern says, from among the king’s “third class” wives-those considered insufficiently beautiful to share his bed and who had not borne children. Contrary to 19th-century gossip that portrayed the female soldiers as sexually voracious, Dahomey’s female soldiers were formally married to the king-and since he never actually had relations with any of them, marriage rendered them celibate.

The Amazons of Dahomey were actually slave capturers of black women and men as stated in black female author Zora Neale Hurston book Baracoon; who is one of the preeminent black writers of the last 100 years. Other books cover this topic as well. I traveled to Benin(Dahomey) in 2017 and the facts stated in Baracoon and other books lined up with what I was told and witnessed.
As I walked the point of no return I was told many stories that are hard to stomach. I cried but I also was strengthened by the honesty of those in Benin(Dahomey) and Ghana. Dahomey got so thick into the slave trade that they did it for sport. Often placing the skulls of those captured (black) on a stick as a trophy.
Nevertheless black women have always been as history states strong and very capable physically, mentally and emotionally. Ultimately we must learn from the past and not return to old ways of thinking. In all thy getting we must get clear understanding. Many women will be captivated by seeing such women as powerful warriors without taking into account the negative outcomes.
So much I can say but I will keep it short. I will say that western Africa or Negroland (Nigeria, Cameroon, Benin/Dahomey, Ghana and others) have admitted fault and are taking steps to repair a troublesome historical past. Forgiveness and reconciliation is possible when we understand the past and accept our divine role . A role that can change the world through peaceful actions.
May love, truth, justice and understanding be the pathway to peace and reconciliation. Every human being is capable of evil if they lack understanding of who they are and what they were created for. Let God be true and every man a liar.

I watched the movies, have watched several documentaries and read about Dahomey Agojie, the movie covers a snap shot in time considering the Agojie was around for 200 years.
Interesting debate, the Dahomey People and Palace still exist today in Benin 🇧🇯 The movie has brought light and got the diaspora talking about Benin/ West African history. There are several detailed documentaries detailing the beginnings to the End of the Agogie to their descendants.
As a British Ghanaian I want to see a Movie of Yaa Asantwa (Battle For The Golden Stool) 🇬🇭, followed by Nanny of the Maroons 🇯🇲

They were known to roast people heads.
Both freed slaves and europeans documented this.

It’s a long read, but no way will I waste my time celebrating a movie of the tribe that did this.
“The growth of Dahomey coincided with the growth of the Atlantic slave trade, and it became known to Europeans as a major supplier of slaves. As a loosely centralised kingdom, it was constantly organised for warfare for defensive purposes. As stated by King Kpengla, “We Dahomeans are surrounded by enemies who make incursions, we must defend ourselves. Your countrymen, therefore, who allege that we go to war for the purpose of supplying your ships with slaves, are grossly mistaken.” Captives taken in warfare were sold to Europeans or became slaves in Dahomey, where they worked on royal plantations and were routinely mass executed in large-scale human sacrifices during the festival celebrations known as the Annual Customs of Dahomey.”

We act as if Africans understood slavery in the same context as the European. The dehumanization process was not understood in their minds. I was told that once they began to understand what was actually happening to black people, they fought back.

I like the Equalizer with Denzel. I tried to watch the Latifah version and couldn't get through the first episode. I don't know who told women they were weak if they couldn't fight like men. I saw the Viola movie and didn't like the image of the men fighting the women. It was the same in Black Panther. The propaganda is training black people to keep fighting each other and remain divided. It's not us against them; it's always us against us. Every women is not a feminist and every man is not a simp. Look at who controls Hollywood. They don't promote strong, black family units ever. It brings us up to a higher level of thinking and action. It's always divide and conquer. Hopefully our people can see this and move accordingly.

you know...i struggle with the complexities of art. i think that movies and tv are inherently for entertainment. but at the same time, these mediums have a profound effect on perception. its the black excellence concept that is corrupting black people as well. when do black men get to be mediocre and still be accepted? look at "jackass", those dudes are less than mediocre, but still get praise and fame. even with black panther, that was an african character who was praised, not a black man from america. blade (wesley snipes) put marvel on the cinematic map, but the character doesn't get praised. then there is that. north american blacks aren't even respected by african blacks. i'm fuqin perturbed and goddamn dumbfounded.

@58:39 - "...I'm actually starting to feel sick". Lol!!! Dr T., you have our UTMOST admiration for being able to endure watching THAT trash movie! Let's recap here: A whyte, blonde female writer in conjunction with a Whyte blonde bi sexual female producer, makes a movie about black female "African warriors"??? You can't make this sh*t up. Does anyone REALLY believe that a blk writer and producer could EVER make a movie about Anne Frank, Oskar Schindler, etc., without having that movie IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN by that very SAME GROUP??
Additionally, this new trend about women just being "naturally better" at everything brings up an interesting point: If these blk and whyte feminist are SO MUCH better than men at EVERYTHING, then why haven't they used their "considerable talents" to help their "struggling sisters" out in these blk neighborhoods in the vast majority of these blk "communities"? They have had OVER HALF OF A CENTURY to bring their "superior" engineering, architectural, construction, security, etc., "skills" to bear and help their "fellow sisters", who they CLAIM to "love and support", out of the squalor that they have lived in for GENERATIONS, yet they have done NOTHING SUBSTANTIAL to help their "fellow sisters" out. So, either these blk and whyte feminist CAN'T do it, or WON'T do it, but the result is the same: they are NOT helping out the so called "sisterhood" that they CLAIM that they "love and support". To paraphrase Malcolm X: Don't TELL ME how much of a "bad azz" that you are. SHOW ME how much of a "bad azz" that you are, and based on the HALF A CENTURY LONG horrific condition of the blk "community", blk and whyte feminists ACTIONS (or rather, their INACTIONS), CLEARLY doesn't much their self deluded rhetoric. SMH.
