This jam and Outta Space by Billy Preston is so similar in some ways..on the Futuristic Funk level anyway! Keep in mind,.. these recordings came out way back in the early to mid-70s!!! 🎹

Oddly Motown was seeking a lead singer for the group and quickly went to Lionel R. who was not really a part of the group or the tour with J5. The drummer and the lead quitar player, in my opinion were very good lead singers but Lionel was given the lead nod. Go figure.
