This song always gets my creative juices pumping, so I figured to share the little story that always comes to mind when I hear this beautiful song.
_Her name was June, and I found that to be the most appropriate name she could've had. She reminded me of summer with her ocean spray of freckles on her cheeks, with her sunlight blonde hair, with the blue-green depths of her seaside eyes and the sunkissed color of her honey skin. She was beautiful. It was a given that I would fall for her and I wished on every falling star that she would fall in love right back._
_We used to go to the beach together in Autumn, wrapped up in cozy sweaters we probably didn't need, and we would stare up at the stars. She would marvel about how big it all seemed, and how small it made her feel. "Just think," I remember her whispering, "one day, I could fly up into those stars and I would be a star just like them."_
_"I think you're already a star." I told her. She laughed with that laughter like a music box. I wished I could bottle it up and savor it in sips on a hot afternoon. She looked at me and tucked one of my too-average too-brown hairs out of my face just long enough to give me the most radiant, simmering smile I'd ever seen. It was like a sunrise just beginning to crest. It wasn't too bright, but it was full of colors ready to rise and overtake the very sky itself. In this way, my heart was the sky, and she was filling me with more color than I could comprehend. She filled me to the brim with warm colors that faded into lonely blues when her smile wasn't there to remind me what color the world had._
_I remember, that night under the stars, how she'd stood up and wandered to the edge of the ocean, standing just deep enough that the tide would wet her feet and then leave them exposed. I wondered if she'd be cold, but instead of asking, I'd joined her and stared out. "What do you suppose is past the horizon?" She'd asked me._
_"If you sailed long enough?" I shrugged. "Probably just China."_
_"I think it's possibility."_
_"In China?"_
_"No. Past the horizon. I think that past the horizon is possibility... adventure... excitement. So much more excitement than there is here."_
_"Don't you like it here?" She didn't respond, but instead recited poems about adventure and the heart's longing. I knew that my heart was longing for her heart to long for mine. In that moment, it became clear that it didn't. That should have broken me up more than it did. It should have twisted me and gutted me, left me laying lifeless on the sand and sent me crying to bed. Instead, it gave me a soft smile as I watched her spin around, kicking up sand in ignorant bliss. Without me, she could travel this world and take in its depths. She could discover all it had to offer her and drink old wines and dance to tribal music. She could meet exotic men and go to bed with them without a second thought. I was bound to this sand, to my fixed position in a world of roaming stars. I looked up. "Hey." I motioned her over. "That's Andrometa."_
_She smiled. "You know so much about the stars."_
_That was the last night I spent with June before she split-second-decision made up her mind to hop in a plane to pass that horizon. I didn't try to stop her from finding her own galaxies and sailing to her own, broader beaches to spend nights with men she'd love more than me. She'd left behind the memory of sunlight blonde and ocean spray freckles. And every so often, when the stars aligned, she would text me. "*Just saw Andrometa and thought of you. I miss you.*"_
_I don't know if summer will ever come again. If it does, I don't know if it will be through June, or in the eyes of another woman on another beach, with another set of stars to gaze up at. I don't know if that summer will fade, or will join me in springtime and wintertime and autumn, too. But so long as they leave something to remember them by, I will be satisfied with just summer._

Words can not express the emotions I feel when you sing. Its like I'm happy, sad, and relaxed all at the same time.
It's 3 am here in my place. I came for this video, I remember loving this cover so much and so I would sing this to my dog as a lullaby, and she would always fall asleep beside me or on my lap whether it be day or night. Well, it's been two years since she passed away. :')) Everything is just different now.

This song was one of my favorites, at about the same time I found Tessa's videos and she quickly became one of my favorites. The combinations of these two things is making all of my 8th grade memories come back and I want to cry. This is as close to perfection as I can imagine.

Basically, I have a friend that I am extremely protective of. People are mean to him, rude to him all the time; but I love him to the ends of the galaxy. Lately I've had to back off because he's been wanting to find someone to spend time intimately with (which is fine). So I've had to tone down my protective urges. It was getting really stressful. But this... This helped me cope, because the lyrics hit close to home with me. Thank you, Tessa, for doing such a wonderful job at bringing life to such a wonderful song.
