I know this is a love song for couples but, most of this reminds me of my grandpa. i miss him so much and skipping rocks in Tennesee is what i remember most of him. He was a sweet soul and this just reminds of him so much.
who cares what the original meaning was? The great thing about poetry is it can mean whatever it means to you (as long as it's supported.) Your meaning most definitely is. Remember your Grandpa in this song, there is nothing incorrect in your interpretation.

I love the space this puts my head in. Such a calm, happy space. And the line "Where cicadas buzz and we are so in love and" honestly just transports me to a cabin by a lake where everything is golden. I love this song and I love playing it on repeat while I write! It's music that inspires me to make something that's as emotional and powerful and just full.

I can tell how this is a typical love story, but told through the tone of nostalgia. As i believe, you were born & raised in TN and dont live there anymore, right? Not living in your original home is really hard, and thinking about it is harder. This song is really sweet and nostalgic and sort of made me remember to make memories and take account for the little things. Thank you. I cant wait to see you & dodie in Charlotte!!!
