Equipment:
-jumbo cupcake tins & liners
-electric mixer or stand mixer
-piping bags
Recipe Ingredients:
-3 jumbo cupcakes
-chocolate melts for ears
buttercream
-1/2 cup (115g) butter, room temperature
-1 2/3 cup (180g) powdered (confection) sugar
-pinch of salt
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1 teaspoon milk
-gel food coloring (pink, red, black)
Instructions:
1) Make 3 jumbo cupcakes using jumbo tins and jumbo cupcake liners. Use which ever recipe you like, or cake box mix.
2) To make the chocolate ears: microwave 1 tablespoon of chocolate melts for 30 seconds, or until melted. Place in a piping bag and pipe 6 triangles with softened/curved edges.
3) To make the buttercream: use an electric mixer or stand mixer with the whip attachment and whip the butter until pale and fluffed, around 7 minutes on medium high speed.
4) Add the powdered sugar and salt and mix until fully combined, around 2 minutes.
5) Add in vanilla and milk and mix until fully combined.
6) Divide the buttercream to create different colors (85% light pink, 5% white, 5% black, 5% other colors like purple for donuts, or red for blush and tongue).
