The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts is the fine arts magnet high school in the Houston Independent School District.
The Vocal Music Department is a pre-professional program that prepares singers for entry into conservatories and university music departments. There is an emphasis on solo and choral singing, music theory, and ear training sight-singing.
