Beautiful dress, you are gorgeous as usual! You have such a natural beauty 💕. I’m glad I’m not the only one that uses so many pins when working with slippery fabrics and velvets. Despite sewing for 40 yrs., and 20 of those having been a production sewer, I still feel more comfortable pinning the heck out some fabrics.
Brittany, I love watching your sew-a-longs! If sewing ends up being too much for my arthritic back, I’ll just live vicariously through your videos. I loved the dress and I think you should make it in red. Red is your color. It would be another great dress for the holidays.
Brittany My friend I kept saying this pattern look so familiar and I remember making this a long time ago, then you had a choice of a jumpsuit or dress. You are crushing it with that Beautiful crush velvet, simply Gorgeous. Brittany all those pins aren't necessary when sewing. I,ve been sewing since 9 years old, went to HS of Fashion Ind.in N.Y and have a BA in fine arts. You are a phenomenal seamstress and you are very detail in everything you do, trust me you dont need all those pins. Love the finish results. Thxs for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving
Hi Brittany, I hope we don't get as much rain here as expected in our forecast for today!! Regardless of the rain, I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving Day with your Hubby and children & any friend's or family members who might be joining you today. I love the fabric you chose for this dress!! It is so lovely. You look like a million bucks in it! Thanks so much for sharing your sew with me video! Take care and God Bless all those you love today.
You look so beautiful in this dress, you really rock. Thanks for the great sew along. Waist casings seem to give me a fit, but I am going to give it another try. Happy holidays
Hi Brittany, I just found your you tube channel and I love it. This dress looks fabulous on you! I just went to Hobby Lobby today to make this same dress. Unfortunately, they were out of the silver fabric but I went with the pine crushed velvet colorway which seemed very similar in color. The fabric was 40% off and I got the pattern for $1.99. Such a deal! I can't wait to sew this with you! :)
What is up with Simplicity sizes??? I just lost 50 pounds and went from a size 18 to a 12, but according to their pattern sizing, I'm a 20! I haven't sewn in quite some time, but years ago when I did, i seem to remember pattern sizes were more generous - so if you wore a size 18, you would actually sew to a size 16. I haven't looked at other brands, but I thought the Simplicity ones were crazy!
Dress looks fabulous.😊 Questions: Why do you not stitch the neck row of stitching in one complete line? Also.......do you serge all raw edges first or after stitching the seams? Your tutorials are always ( for me) informative and easy to follow. Have a blessed thanksgiving🌹
When sewing the curved edge of any neckline, you should always start at the top of the shoulder and sew to the center. This prevents that seam from lying flat on one side and buckled on the other.
Hi, nice video too bad I don't have the pattern. I was watching some of your videos and I love the top you are wearing on your video: SEW WITH ME: MCCALLS 7712 please let me know what pattern you used.
Eduarda Chi to prevent the pile of the crushed velvet from shifting while sewing. Lots of pins with velvet will keep the seams together. I don’t use that many on other projects just velvet and slippery/slinky fabric.
Brittany J Jones I am making this for my daughter in a olive green velvet, stretchy and kind of heavy--it is a pain to sew on. I can fully understand using all those pins. Even though it is an easy pattern, the fabric has really upped the difficulty and frustration level.
Beautiful. I love this patern and the fabric choice. This will be my next project.
Lovely. A cute quick sew... You kicked it up a notch with that fabric lady!

thecasablancalily thank you so much!!
Did you do anything with the split in the back? Nice job.
cute dress! I need to find this pattern
Beautiful!
I love look of the finished garment. Is it necessary to surge the edges on this fabric?

Love your fitting adjustment-somehow my hips just kept growing! LOL.
Lol! Mines too!
Very creative and beautiful choice in fabric. Could you make the black boxes a little bigger. On my phone, it’s hard for me to read. ❤️
Gorgeous! How long did it take for you to sew this from start to finish?
Great video - Your Dress looks beautiful! What stitch did you use to so your garment?
🎊
Dress looks fabulous.😊

LindaJean House thank you😊
@@znycelondon5313 you're welcome. It's a helpful hint that makes a difference. Knowing why makes it easier to understand.
Very beautiful
Estelle Yamamoto thank you so much❤️
Thank you for the tutorial Brittany. Did you use a regular straight stitch?
You're welcome. I used a straight stitch for all the seams except the hems. I used a narrow zig zag for those.
Could you have used a walking foot so you could use less pins?
Hi, nice video too bad I don't have the pattern. I was watching some of your videos and I love the top you are wearing on your video: SEW WITH ME: MCCALLS 7712 please let me know what pattern you used.
Hi I just started watching your videos and could you explain things in more detail because I'm unable to follow I'm new at this
When you stay-stitch the neckline, do you need to change the stitch length of your sewing machine?
Hey! No, you don't need to change the stitch length for the stay-stitch.
@@brittanyjjonestv Thanks! I really appreciate you going over all of the basics.
Hi I will like you teach me how to sew a jacket I do have know who to sew ,I find it difficult to sew jacket . Places reply. Thanking you.
