- Jonathan visits the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta-one of the largest aquariums in the world-where they keep not one but four whale sharks in captivity, as well as two manta rays. Whale sharks are the largest fish on Earth and Jonathan learns how these animals are maintained in captivity while he dives with them in a 6 million gallon fish tank!

I have to admit, I laughed at the Bird's eye view pun, intended or not !
Misssarah3939 ;-)

Do you remember making this comment lol?
How sad to hear these beautiful creatures are hunted for food in Taiwan, there can't be a huge population of these beautiful creatures.
Judith Barnett people hunt these fish for meat, a whale shark could supply a tiny village
It probably made sense back in the day, when there were less people and technology was limited.
ZeroEye 25 I can totally understand that but man oh man our ocean species numbers are dwindling.
thats awesome they have whale sharks and hammerheads and manta rays. at the aquarium i go to, which is called aquarium of the pacific and it's located in long beach, CA. they have animals that look a little similar to those animals like bonnetheads, zebra sharks, cownose rays, a whiptail ray, bat rays, a mangrove ray, and a southern stingray :) honestly i think i'd visit this aquarium in a heartbeat!
Wow cool. I go to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach too
Robyn Freeman sweet I someday need to see you there!
Ya lol
13:50
Whale shark- hello again
Jonathan-he hustled pass me lol

I've been to the Georgia aquarium when I was 5 years old.
BlueWorldTV is a awesome UA-cam channel and a awesome diver. He inspires me and I get tons of information every day. I wish I could go diving with him someday!
They are hunted for food, so the aquarium pretty much guaranteed the whale sharks safety
I went here a few years ago and swam with the belugas! Such an amazing experience!! I can't wait to go back!!!
I like aquarium dive with the divemaster, Devon.
This aquarium is one of my all time favorites! !!! whale sharks are my favorite! !!!

I didn't know UPS shipped whale sharks... well damn... I like UPS... maybe I should just get my own whale shark shipped right to my home!
+Nikki B The Orcinus orca If you catch a whale shark, you can ship it home, but UPS won't catch it for you! LOL!

Manta are one of the smartest fish in ocean they go right up to divers
I’d say these Jonathan bird’s blue world aquarium videos are so cool awesome nice and terrific
I REALLY wish I could get over my damn fear of the ocean! I love it, and ironically the ocean has been my sanctuary forever and a day, but I just can't seem to get myself past the point of knee deep anymore! But to see them in their environment, and to have NO fear, and know that you are safe...Who wouldn't dream of a bucket list opportunity like this? Wow...If only. Beautifully done and I just told my Husband that we need to plan a get away trip to that amazing museum! Thanks for the video!
I’ve been to the Georgia Aquarium since I was 5 yrs old! And I still go there too.

I don't have my SCUBA certification yet but both the National Aquarium in Baltimore and the Georgia Aquarium are on my list to dive, this tank though makes Baltimore's new tank look kinda small.
***** Do you want to say, if I have my SCUBA certification, I may get into this Aquarium?
thank you for making this video
I think u live more underwater than u live on the ground 😂
I've just visit this video again boy it brings good memories

Jonathan Bird I learned so much from your video.
Daniel, 9 years, Faroe Island
Daniel Borentzvige Wow, what a cool place to live!!!
Where is that @blueworldTV
+BlueWorldTV of course
I absolutely hate when people say that it's selfish to have animals in an aquarium!!! Newsflash people...if it wasn't for aquariums and places available to view many species of life that we can't see or don't understand then people wouldn't know how precious they are. People think sharks are all killers or certain whales and fish are just food. This can give people another view of the animals that we know nothing about. It gives people an opportunity to see these large creatures living in peace and harmony. Instead of just watching them on shows in their killing or feeding modes. Face it...we know that we all don't have the knowledge to know what these animals do in the wild except what we are told or what we watch. It's important to just watch and learn what these animals do out in the dark mysterious oceans and how else is this possible without aquariums or zoos? How else would children and adults learn facts instead of what we are told?? Not to mention....this is where large or small animals that are endangered can be without harm. It would be different if the animals were mistreated.
+Heather Sipe There is a very good argument for the animals in captivity acting as ambassadors for their kind so that people will appreciate them more. It's hard to appreciate an animal that you can never see alive. I am against taking wild animals from the ocean for aquaria, but I'm ok with captive bred animals.
Yes...I wish more people thought like you and I
There’s a Big Difference Between Georgia Aquarium and Seaworld.Seaworld Captured It’s Orca’s.The animals At Georgia Aquarium were Rescued and can’t go back into The Wild.
@@its_ezralol exactly right!

Omg this brings me back to when I was like 7 watching these
They are still great fun even if you aren't 7, especially since they are not really designed for 7 year olds in the first place!
BlueWorldTV yea these videos were literally my childhood because I used to binge watch these everyday 😁
i have been there its awesome can't wait to go again!
u love these vids really
I never properly appreciated all the legal safety requirements of aquariums and zoos in the U.S. until I went on a trip to South America, visited an aquarium, and saw a 2 foot tall pole and some rope was the only thing separating me and other casual visitors from falling into a 12 foot deep pool filled with all kinds of different sized fish, eels, sting rays, and sand sharks.
And it didn't really hit me how dangerous that was until I had already gotten back to the U.S. and went to the Georgia aquarium and saw all the things they did to ensure there was 0 chance of someone getting hurt on their property.
He is so brave
I've been there before I love that place
Wow this is amazing keep up the work and I love your vidios!
I loved it:) cool
Amazing 💗🤞❣
I went there today and I loved it!!! I
Omg amazinggggg
I went to this amazing place and saw a saw shark . It looked crazy
I'm assuming that the sharks would not hunt the various other fish in that tank? I don't think that would be too fun for the kids lol.
Dylan Tobey They can't. The whale sharks have a four foot mouth but a throat only the size of a quarter. They can only eat fish eggs, krill and small bits of fish.
Dylan Tobey The sharks are hand fed by the aquarists, so they're not hungry enough to go for the other fish.
Amazing
It's 4am and I'm so excited to go at 9 so I can't sleep
i love this channel i have been watching seena i was 4 years old to 11 keep it up jonathan sorry bad grammar
this is very cool.
Love!!
my goal is to visit this place :)
I love it
I wonder how they do water changes (or do they actually do water changes since the filter is too powerful)
Awesome
You: the whale shark is the largest shark in the sea
Megalodon: do you think im a joke to you?
Nope, but extinct!
Mosasaurus: hold my beer
Hi Jonathan, around 11:57 of the video in the left hand corner, I saw a shark swimming along the bottom. Was that an angel shark? I'm fascinated with those kinds of sharks!
I believe the animal you are referring to is a guitarfish, which is a kind of ray.
yes it is a bow- mouth guitarfish
I like your videos so much I like to watch them everyday
Zermec ment me too
Did they get basking sharks?
Hey jJohnathan Bird,do you know there is an aquarium in Cadmen New Jersey Called the adventure aquarium and in the ocean realm exhibit they have the only 12ft hammerhead resident!
You are awesome
I wonder what the overall cost is to feed these animals each year .
When I went to GA they didn't have hammerhead sharks
