one i thing i love about no commentery playthroughs, i can sit down and watch and appreciate the work that went into the title, and treat it like either a movie or a series.
Kratos has been accumulating loot and powers for over 7 games, but he keeps losing it at the start of every single one.. Kratos needs a bank or something...
I'm surprised not many people have been talking about how amazing the devs made it so that EVERY PART OF THE GAME looks like it was made in one continuous take and looked like it flowed through each scene perfectly, you know like that WW1 movie called 1917.
Think about the amount of voice acting they needed to do so Kratos and Atreus have their little conversations non-stop about everything that's happening. And how many of the games backgrounds look like they were crafted to give beautiful views every time you turn a corner. It's truly a masterpiece.
The addition of Atreus humanized Kratos and added so many layers to this character that we really only associated with war and vengeance before. I'm so glad they went this direction when making the game! I absolutely loved the dynamic between the kind-hearted and trusting son and the tough yet loving and protective father who struggles to show vulnerability. They revitalized Kratos and in doing so, they also revitalized the whole franchise. Can't wait for ragnarok!
I agree, and I really didn’t like how hypocritical and ruthless Kratos was in previous games. He hated the gods for their vices but adopted the same vices and behaved the same way until now.
All the more that makes this game exciting. Kratos gained further character rather than just a vengeful blood-thirsty Spartan demi-god. It would also be exciting if the other Norse gods come to play in Ragnarok.

Are you crazy? the axe is amazing you haven't upgraded it enough yet, the blades on the other hand was used because kratos had to go to a place where the enemy's are ice power so using a Ice powdered axe won't work well so Blades of chaos had to be taken
It's hard to put in words just how much I love this game. I've seen the intro of this game, through playthroughs and on UA-cam, COUNTLESS times and I still get chills every time.

I truly love everything about the opening to the game… This beast of a man we’ve been through with so many adventures from the past six games. 1,2,3, chains of olypus, ghost of sparta, and ascension. Having seen and felt and experienced every ounce of torment possible killing so many people clawing his way out of hell countless times and being repeatedly used for a means to an end by many others and finally having his revenge and being freed from his bondage of the sins of his past. And what did that all cost? His bravest and strongest warriors, his homeland, his few true friends, and most of his first family. Now here he stands, a broken man. Truly older and wiser, still so much he feels unworthy to have. Love, a wife and a son. Now once again, that pain of losing someone he loves dearly is back. And his moment with the tree fills him with unimaginable grief yet again as he is mourning the loss of his love who did not judge him nor did she care about his past. And now she’s gone. Now all he has left is his son who he still feels unworthy to call his own and his scars still even now haunt him much like moon pale skin
Also just realized that she told Kratos the marked trees (marked ones create the protection stave) were meant for her pyre because she wanted Baldr to find them and begin their journey towards what the Giants prophesied. They have layed the marks of the end story this well from the beginning, truly amazing!

in the novelization, you hear a lot of the characters inner monologues. atreus often questions how his dad is so strong but seeing as Kratos is literally the ONLY man Atreus has ever seen in his life before their journey, he assumes that he is just very weak because of his small stature

I love all the moments that Kratos doesn't even think about putting himself in not only harm's way, but death's way, for his son. They really created a masterpiece here. I have to rewatch the entire game or parts here and there all the time. It's just so damn good.

im 6 hrs and a half and im in 1hr 50 minutes i love to take my time and i still am in the default difficulty system i guess in the end i will lower it but so far im on the default difficult mode tough but fair in my opinion

I truly love everything about the opening to the game…
This beast of a man we’ve been through with so many adventures from the past six games. 1,2,3, chains of olypus, ghost of sparta, and ascension. Having seen and felt and experienced every ounce of torment possible killing so many people clawing his way out of hell countless times and being repeatedly used for a means to an end by many others and finally having his revenge and being freed from his bondage of the sins of his past.
And what did that all cost? His bravest and strongest warriors, his homeland, his few true friends, and most of his first family.
Now here he stands, a broken man. Truly older and wiser, still so much he feels unworthy to have. Love, a wife and a son. Now once again, that pain of losing someone he loves dearly is back. And his moment with the tree fills him with unimaginable grief yet again as he is mourning the loss of his love who did not judge him nor did she care about his past. And now she’s gone. Now all he has left is his son who he still feels unworthy to call his own and his scars still even now haunt him much like moon pale skin

in the novelization, you hear a lot of the characters inner monologues. atreus often questions how his dad is so strong but seeing as Kratos is literally the ONLY man Atreus has ever seen in his life before their journey, he assumes that he is just very weak because of his small stature
