James is channeling a neat English flair here, I think his facility with accents and storytelling is a great gift that stands out above others in musical theater. He just can really make you see things with your imagination, he knows how to draw you in and never let you go. And he's a chameleon and can become whatever he wants to be on the stage. His work gives me so much happiness, I can never get enough of Barbour.
I very much agree with your statement. I saw an interview with James Barbour. He says that he studied acting, specifically Shakespeare first in college. It's just amazing how much he emotes as he sings. He takes you to a higher plane that you cannot reach just through speech. Giving words melody helps to transcend the story and bring beauty and spirituality in the moment. I wish I new more about his voice training. His voice just soars with so much power in it. I wonder if he has perfect pitch. He very rarely goes flat or sharp. The tortured soul is the archetype he's so popular for playing. He just plays it really really well! My heart goes out to all the actors trying to work during covid. It must be very hard to keep going during all of this. God bless him and all those that choose the life less traveled by. If they can do it we can too!
01:30 --- We apologize, for interrupting the heartfelt & honorable name-calling, to bring your attention back to a man that was late to the race by twenty-four hours. Please resume with the usual banter, the good-hearted slinging of sarcasm & slander. Our devout apologies are extended for having stepped into the expectant breach of imbroglio, for which we should be rightly scorned, and expelled from your grace.
I love, love, LOVE this song. James Barbour's voice is amazing.
