How to Sign - EXCUSE ME - Sign Language - ASL

In this video I show you how to sign the phrase "excuse me".
If you change your facial expression to a more annoyed look (maybe roll your eyes), the meaning changes to excuse ie: "That's an excuse". Shake your head no along with the annoyed look and the meaning becomes: "I'm not accepting your excuse".
When you use one longer more drawn out movement (instead of a quick double movement), the sign means: excused ie: let go from your job, excused from a responsibility such as jury duty, etc.

Thank you, I'm autistic and have trouble speaking at times, especially when around a lot of people (which is usually when I bump into others haha) so now I've got an option to acknowledge people. I mean, I don't think most people would understand it or even notice, but at least I can try to communicate the sentiment.

Yes, this sign can be used for that. It’s the same sign for all things requiring an “excuse me”. You might change your facial expression slightly or you could sign “I’m sorry”.
